You are correct about remember butterflies being associated with Fern, the spell that made her choose to pursue magic was one that creates butterflies made of light, when she saw it made Heiter happy. Also, I love how the progress over time is portrayed - in pretty much any time period (past a certain point) in our world, 80 years of developing technology leads to breakthroughs and new standards, and it was nice to see the same for humans with magic development in this world. Another fun thing, is that despite Himmel sounding so calm and soft, his voice actor's most recognised roles are often loud and energetic, such as Nishinoya from Haikyuu and Bakugo from MHA.
