Hello!

Hope you've been well! It's been a little while since I caught up with you and I feel like so much has been going on, so I finally sat down to review my footage from the past few months. Time passes so fast!

🌼 March's little list:

🍂 seasons changing

since the last time I checked in here, the garden was just starting to grow- and now as I write this further into 2025, I cannot even share with you the state of the garden- it's too embarassing.. it's been so cold! so we've really neglected it.. and all the rain and wind has made our raised beds extremely overgrown with weeds! I'm waiting for the temperatures to get warmer so we can get back out there... but as you could see in the clip..! we still had some last yields right before the holidays! I'm sure there's secret potatoes and garlic waiting to be plucked out there...

⭐ navigating changes

life has been generally good! since the last time I wrote a blogpost, I've finished up another contract on a production, but decided this time after rolling off, to take some time to focus on my own project and myself..!
juggling the painting on the side of board work was 100% doable , but it made me so curious about how it would feel to just focus on these big pieces completely, without a production schedule looming over me and calling me back to the desk.

days have felt both slower and faster since I transitioned from being on a payroll..!
and I’m creating (for myself!) every single day! It feels wildly different than waking up everyday and serving someone else's project. I have a ton of group shows lined up all the way till the end of the year too… which is giving me a little nugget of stress, but mostly excitement. A couple of them are overlapping across a few months, so I'm excited to have my pieces spread out and seeable across a couple spots in the city for a period :') something about showing art work in physical spaces really feels different.

🎨 creating everyday

I've been structuring my days around my painting hours- basically taking my 9 to 6 usual schedule at a job and turning it towards my own series work. It's felt really amazing...! I know I probably won't be able to sustain this financially forever, but I'm enjoying it while I can and while I'm pursuing my current goals and being sure to remember how fulfilling it feels.

I've reached the end of my second journal! I have a lot to finish coloring inside... but it's crazy how fast time passes! I haven't done as much sketchbooking in the last few weeks because I've just wanted to focus on large painting- but here's a Childe Hassam master study I did a lil while ago




started a new large piece as soon as I finished up the last one..
I feel really happy about my scale progression right now.. I'm surprising myself! I remember for the longest time I just felt like I could never paint something that took up so much space.
I'm really excited to share this and the next and the last painting timelapses with you .... soon! they're coming....!
 just need to hunker down and finish editting and queue them up..
