2025-09-24 22:31:50 +0000 UTCThe big thing that were missing on JACKBOYS 2 were the beat selection, Mike Dean and the "gang/label sound" that you can really find on JACKBOYS 1. Only "Champain & Vacay" and "2000 Excursion" give you that feeling on JACKBOYS 2 Travis really needs Mike Dean, like really. The mix is so different on his music now, his voice sounds a little bit too raw now, he doesn't put too much effects on his voice like he used to and that's too bad. We are losing that psychedlic sound we all love in his music. Luxury Tax is currently a Cactus Jack Member, he wasn't on JACKBOYS 2 but he's on the deluxe version of the album. "GANG GANG" & "WHAT TO DO?" are pure masterpiece and so much better than the whole "JACKBOYS 2" joint (except for "DA WIZARD" which is a deluxe track you both should react to "cause it really got that psychedelic old Travis sound). I'm a huge Travis fan and I was a lil bit disappointed if I'm being objective about JACKBOYS 2 even though I love it because I'm just a big fan but we shouldn't be worried about the future Travis project. JACKBOYS 2 was like a mixtape where Travis just put some randoms songs. I think we can still believe in him when it comes to solo project. You guys should definitely react to a Don Toliver album too Fun fact: Mike Dean said on Twitter before JACKBOYS 1 dropped that his work on "WHAT TO DO?" might be a better one than what he did on "Devil In A New Dress"
