My Father Figure theory is that the very last line, “you remind me of a younger me/I saw potential”, is Taylor referring to re-recording her albums and planning the Eras Tour to buy back her catalog. The line appears earlier in the song, but it’s Scott Borchetta saying that about Taylor.

2025-10-06 03:41:29 +0000 UTCMay be a bit too "paternity test the song lyrics" of me, but the last prechorus of Honey , where she discusses the "what are you wearing, too high to remember" bit reminded me of Matty, and the "lovely but finding ways to not praise me" reminded me of Joe A. The high bit of course reminded me of Matty esp when throwing it back to how he's talked about in TTPD, and lovely is an adjective more commonly used in England than in the US, and the "find ways not to praise me" feels like the same vibe as their love was described since evermore
