Just wanted to add that this song was actually Kendrick’s first release after not dropping anything for 4 years! so the hype around this was massive so for him to come back and the first thing he said was “smoking on your top 5” had everyone literally going crazy😭 also the reason he says “I’ve been ducking the pandemic… I’ve been ducking the overnight activists.. im not a trending topic” is because the year before this song released was 2020 when the BLM movement was at its peak because of the George Floyd incident and Kendrick started trending on Twitter because everyone was asking why isn’t he speaking on the events especially since Kendrick has always talked about police brutality before and well he basically answered everyone on this song :)
