Little update on my situation!
Added 2021-11-06 06:07:29 +0000 UTCHey there!
I wanted to make this much earlier...before the start of this month when I was seeing that my hotel planning was taking me longer than expected.
But I have decided to take this month for more prep before outright starting the comic.
For one, I couldn't finish the cover for the comic before the start of the month =w=;;;. I kinda had an idea before for it, but it wasn't too solid and after figuring out the floor plans for the building, I came up with a better idea for the cover, but by that time it was the end of the month |3;;;;
So I decided to work on a poll drawing quickly to update you guys, since talk is cheap and I prefer to talk when I have stuff to show. But floor plans aren't the sort of thing that'd be exciting to show x'D...
Either ways, I have been a little art blocked, mostly from home situation and an ever fluctuating sleeping schedule that has messed with my sense of timing for work =w=;;, but I'm working through it!
That is my explanation as to why it took so long for me to say or show anything here </3
I'm sorry for not having said anything before. I want this place to be totally transparent since you all are supporting me so much and it sorta feels like a betrayal not to provide on my end.
Since I was so late with the notice about the comic's start, I can refund anybody who was expecting the comic this month, since if I was in your shoes, I'd totally feel tricked into supporting expecting something that is not coming, so PM me if you want said refund!, I don't bite and I think it's justifiable if you want it!
That asides. I'm gonna be using this month to do the poll drawings (Which also means I'm sorry for missing October's poll, so I'll be putting that one tomorrow probably), the comic cover and the (hopefully) complete storyboard for the comic. So I don't come up with it -as- I'm making the comic.
That's another reason why I'm not starting the comic this month |3;;. The storyboard missing is pretty big, haha. I could totally try winging it at the start as I try to make the storyboard in a rush. But I figured out that it'd be nicer if things were done all with less stress and with more care from the get go
I'm also thinking that moving forwards into december, I might rework the patreon and outright take out the higher rewards (Not the polls, but the rewards that include pics).
For one, I still have a backed set of pics I gotta finish, which will be done along the comic as it comes. But I also think it'd be nice if I could pull out more than 4 pages per month.
Maybe to like 6 per month?. That way the comic won't take forever to come out (Since the last digimon one took more than a year if I recall correctly) and by focusing on it the style should be more consistent, specially if it ends faster.
What do you guys think? depending on feedback I might also use this month to update the patreon a little bit. Like changing my old avatar, maybe the banner and the tier drawings xD
Again, apologies for the comic being delayed again, but I swear the wait will be worth it! <3
have a good day ya'll

Lmao, at least twitter is free....*for now*~ That honestly sounds like a fun idea tbh, drawing a couple of things and then have one of 'em be choosen to be finished. I kinda feel I'm not quite set with a style like to get faster at it, since I'm always drawing things sorta close to the ref's proportions, but if I get more in peace with the idea of using voice to chat to peeps (I'm pretty shy x3;;;) then I'll totally consider it <3

2021-11-11 04:38:46 +0000 UTCSMH I pay to get censored, cries in twitter... FR, don't undervalue that stuff, it's the core of the project, even if it takes a month or two. As long as you're transparent and give people information about what you're doing with that time, give or take, no one will just pull their pledge. I think it's important that, as you improve and grow, you edit how much "value" in money your art has. I've personalyl never had an issue with that, because I've always tried to be fair with my prices, and people understand that. Streams don't need to have 10 pictures a shot, or full renders! Also it's funnily enough, a great way to develop your art agility! I'm sure people would be fine with sketches only, and maybe you could make a poll after the stream to see which one people want to see finished! That's double the wammy in terms of interaction!

2021-11-10 00:28:01 +0000 UTCI didn't think much about it, but it did make sense to share the practice. It'd have been terrible to just dissapear for a month or 2 with "practice" and just expect people to hang on tight xD <3

2021-11-10 00:26:04 +0000 UTCOh man, when I started Patreon, my idea was to make raffles, mostly low tiers so even the cheapest tiers could get a chance for a drawing! I insist that I like being approcheable and affordable instead of one of those peeps that makes 3k for one drawing xD. So the raffle was a good idea for it!, sadly Patreon doesn't allow raffles of any kind, since it goes against gambling laws </3.

2021-11-10 00:22:07 +0000 UTCNo, I deleted it because you offended me and my sensitivities with one of the words you used....I think it was "the"? *SHOT* (Joking of course!) I totally was underselling the prep work tbh, the last comic was done with little prep beforehand, just a slight 8 pages storyboard x3;;;. of course that bit me on the tail here and there, haha. I'm totally gonna do it better this time for sure~ Also I struggle with my desire for making my art affordable and yet make enough money to survive x3;;;. I do think I'm gonna rise them prices for custom art tiers. I like the idea of lowering the amount of them as a compromise so I can still speed up the comic somewhat. Thank you for the recommendation <3 Also I'd consider doing streams but I'm a slow artist. I'd never be able to live up to expectations by drawing on the spot. For one I doodle, clean the doodle on the act and then I do the lineart all over to make it smoother. I think that already would slow down the streaming a big deal xD. Let alone doing shading and all that jazz~ Props on you for managing to do it tho owo, maybe one day I'll be good enough like to draw faster and be able to do them streams like you cool dudes <3

2021-11-10 00:13:16 +0000 UTCI mean, I can't take forever to do it xD. If anything there are so many other projects that'd be cool to work on besides this one and I'll never get to 'em if I take too long in general, haha~

2021-11-10 00:12:45 +0000 UTCYea prep for the comic is the work. Plus you've been sharing all the practice sketches, so taking a bit longer is no big for me.

2021-11-07 14:42:25 +0000 UTCYour comics are awesome and are a treat by themselves. Perhaps limit the rewards? Like make them raffled or once a month thing? I know myself among others wouldnt mind having the option to commish the char to help immortalize ourselves in your art.

2021-11-06 23:01:01 +0000 UTCI love all your creations! And I support you too, no matter how much I have to wait for your drawings. :) You are the most talented artist I have ever seen. I’m so glad I found your patreon page. And I know that I will love your next comic in the same way I love Mischief on the Rocks. You are the best! x3

2021-11-06 17:02:10 +0000 UTCHmm, think my comment got deleted by patreon, SMH Doing prep for the comic is work by itself, it's OK to have a month or two where your sole focus is working on that, even if technically no pages are done. That prep up is extremely valuable. Don't undersell it. Custom art tiers are hard to handle, I think yours are extremely cheap for the quality they have, you're literally slaving yourself away for pennies. Lower their amount and hike up the price to what you think is fair for your time, I'd personally charge around 40 bucks per character/pledge if I were you. You'd reduce workload and still keep same or higher income. Can also do something akin to what I do, one day of stream requests for X value patrons. People love those, a handful of people get art monthly, everyone wins, and you just have to work one day instead of a whole week. Food for thought, but FR consider rising the value of your pledges, you can't charge the same RN as you did several years ago, that ain't fair for you!!
