Chapter 386: The Flying Carriage

[Natasha drove her motorcycle alongside the Quinjet and asked: "Clint, can you draw the guards away?"]

[After hearing this, Barton said calmly, "Let me try!" He then controlled the Quinjet to fly beside the truck and fired a barrage at Ultron. The powerful firepower forced him back step by step, and he had to raise his hands to shield himself.]

[Ultron had no choice but to send the soldiers stationed in the truck to deal with Barton. Soon they reached the Quinjet and began attacking it with energy weapons.]

[Barton looked at the Ultron minions firing continuously above his head, and had to pull the joystick to make the Quinjet spin in place, throwing them off.]

"He'd be proud to hear you say that!" Natasha glanced at Barton with a smile. Barton tilted his head helplessly and said nothing.

At this time, Captain America walked in from outside. After Bucky had awakened, Captain America informed Peggy Carter of the news. After all, she was also familiar with Bucky.

[Barton saw the flying carriage and said, "Okay! The package is airborne. I have a clean shot!" Then he activated the weapons system.]

[Natasha quickly stopped him: "No! I'm still in here!"]

["What the hell are you...?" Barton was about to complain, but Natasha didn't give him a chance to finish.]

["Just be ready! I'm going to send the package to you!"]

[After hearing this, Barton immediately became serious: "How do you want me to take it?!!"]

["You might not want to know!" Natasha replied as she used a knife to cut through a safety belt securing the regeneration cradle.]

"Oh wow! No way? Is this actually possible? Can she pull this off?" 2nd gen Spiderman immediately understood Natasha's plan and looked skeptical.

"It's technically feasible, but it really tests the pilot's skills! Fortunately, it seems that Clint has exceptional abilities. He should be able to do it!" Tony observed, mentally calculating the physics involved.

"It is indeed challenging, but not impossible!" Dr. Connors analyzed thoughtfully. Although he wasn't an expert in aerial maneuvers, he mentally simulated the scenario and concluded that Natasha's idea wasn't as far-fetched as it seemed.

As long as the angle of the container was correct and Clint could accurately position the Quinjet, the regeneration cradle could slide down and fall right into the aircraft's cargo hold.

[Natasha continued working to get the regeneration cradle into position for transfer to the Quinjet, while Captain America struggled to hold back Ultron.]

[Ultron didn't hesitate when he heard this. He turned around and fired five laser beams at Quicksilver. Pietro immediately dodged to the side, and the lasers pierced through the locomotive. Then Ultron blasted open the door and escaped.]

Chapter 387: Out of Control Train

[Ultron went straight for the carriage, and Captain America immediately warned Natasha: "It's headed your way!"]

[Then he went to the cab and checked on the conductor. The train could no longer stop, and there was a dead end ahead. Captain America saw this troubling scene from afar.]

"The only hope may be Wanda. Her magic can control objects. Maybe she can slow down the train's speed or even make it fly!" Gwen suggested thoughtfully.

Another possible solution would be for Tony to send his Iron Legion to lift the train, similar to how Ultron's minions had lifted the carriage.

But after thinking about it carefully, everyone realized this method wasn't feasible. Tony wasn't present, so even if he wanted to provide support, he wouldn't be able to arrive in time.

What's more, due to Ultron's existence and Jarvis's destruction, the Iron Legion might only become Ultron's puppets. It would be fortunate enough if they didn't attack the heroes—they certainly couldn't be counted on for assistance.

Dr. Otto Octavius lowered his head silently without saying anything. He couldn't help but think of how he had been controlled by his mechanical tentacles in the footage shown earlier. He always took what he had seen on the Sky Screen as a warning, and the mechanical arms that he had spent a fortune to build now gathered dust in a warehouse.

He vowed never to use them until he developed a better way to control the robotic appendages!

Otto felt much better when he looked at his wife. No matter what others said about him, she had always been by his side. He also had Tobey's Spider-Man as his friend regardless of their age difference. That was enough.

[Inside the train, Captain America turned to Wanda and Pietro: "Civilians in our path!"]

[Pietro disappeared without a word after hearing this.]

[Captain America looked at Wanda and asked: "Can you stop this thing?"]

[Pietro rescued all the civilians in the train's path at superhuman speed, moving them safely out of the way.]

[Captain America kept helping passengers block flying debris inside the train, but then a wall appeared directly ahead. Captain America immediately positioned himself in the opening created by Ultron's escape and raised his shield to brace for impact.]

[The citizens of Seoul began to flee in panic as the out-of-control train barreled toward them.]

[Captain America was knocked backward by a massive stone pillar, his body breaking through a handrail as he fell inside the train.]

[Wanda cast her crimson chaos magic around the underside of the train and began to control its speed, while Pietro continued racing ahead to clear everyone from its path.]

[Wanda strained with effort to control the massive vehicle. Soon, through her determined efforts, the train gradually slowed to a stop. The civilians who had survived the disaster stared at the train in disbelief.]

[Captain America breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the train finally stop, and the passengers fled the train one after another.]

[Wanda went to Pietro, who was so exhausted he could barely stand, and checked on his condition.]

[Quicksilver waved his hand dismissively: "I'm fine. I just need to catch my breath!"]

[Captain America approached them: "I'm very thankful."]

[Wanda asked urgently: "The cradle. Did you get it?"]

["Stark will take care of it."]

This train was sliding across the ground, facing enormous friction and resistance," Gwen pointed out, explaining the difference between the two scenarios.

This was why Wanda had been able to stop the train relatively quickly with a single maneuver—because the train had already lost a significant amount of kinetic energy before she intervened.

1st gen Spiderman didn't argue the point. In his view, as long as the train stopped safely, the methods didn't matter much. However, he was clearly pleased that Gwen seemed to be defending his accomplishment.

"Wanda has always been distrustful of Tony Stark. She doesn't believe he can be trusted," Uncle Ben observed, changing the subject.

"Well, who would trust someone whose weapons caused so much suffering to their family during childhood?" Aunt May replied, understanding Wanda and Pietro's perspective.

"Maybe, but Tony Stark didn't even know his weapons were being sold under the table by Obadiah Stane," 1st gen Spiderman said, defending Tony.

In his view, this misunderstanding was similar to when Harry had wrongly believed that Spider-Man had killed Norman Osborn and sought revenge against him. Eventually, that misunderstanding had been resolved, and their friendship restored. Perhaps the same could happen with Wanda and Tony.

Chapter 388: Ultron's Ambition

[Inside the Avengers Tower]

[Tony approached wearing a t-shirt with Bruce Lee's image on it. Banner looked up and asked, "Any word on Natasha?"]

["Haven't heard, but she's alive, or Ultron would be rubbing our faces in it."]

[Barton carefully inspected the regeneration cradle, then jumped down and announced, "This thing's sealed tight!"]

["We're gonna need to access the program, break it down from within," Banner explained while supporting the regeneration cradle with his hands.]

[Tony put his hands in his pockets and didn't respond directly. Instead, he turned to Barton: "Any chance Natasha might leave you a message outside the internet? Old-school spy stuff?"]

[Barton put his hands on his hips and considered for a moment: "There are some frequencies SHIELD used that Ultron wouldn't know about. Yeah, I'll check." Then he hurried downstairs.]

[Banner operated the computer: "I can work on tissue degeneration if you can fry whatever operational system Cho implanted."]

[Tony touched the back of his head: "Yeah, about that..."]

[Banner looked at Tony, immediately understanding his implication, and firmly refused: "No."]

["You have to trust me," Tony moved closer, trying to persuade Banner.]

[Banner spread his hands and stepped back: "I don't."]

["Our ally, the guy protecting the nuclear codes," Tony activated a holographic projection, revealing Jarvis! "I found him."]

["Hello, Dr. Banner," Jarvis greeted him politely.]

[Tony explained: "Ultron didn't attack Jarvis because he was angry. He attacked him because he was scared of what he can do. So Jarvis went underground, scattered, dumped his memory. But not his protocols."]

["He didn't know he was there until I pieced him together."]

[Banner touched his forehead, now understanding what Tony wanted to do: "So, you want me to help you put Jarvis into this thing?"]

["No, of course not! I want to help you put Jarvis in this thing," Tony clarified. "This is not my area of expertise. You know bio-organics better than anyone."]

[Banner appeared skeptical. After all, Ultron had previously overwhelmed Jarvis with relative ease: "And you're just assuming that Jarvis's operational matrix can beat Ultron's?"]

["Jarvis has been beating him from inside without knowing it. This is our chance to create Ultron's perfect self, without the homicidal glitches. We have to."]

[Jarvis added supportively: "I believe it's worth a try."]

[Banner shook his head in disbelief: "I'm in a loop! I'm caught in a time loop. This is exactly where it all went wrong."]

[Tony walked up to him and put his arm around Banner's shoulders.]

["I know, I know, I know what everyone's going to say. But they're already saying it. We're mad scientists. We're monsters, buddy. We've gotta own it. Make a stand."]

[Banner lowered his head and licked his lips, instinctively shaking his head.]

[Tony continued persuading: "It's not a loop. It's the end of the line."]

"So, we ended up creating Vision? A super robot created by combining Jarvis with the body that Ultron built for himself?" Tony mused, narrowing his eyes thoughtfully, though he didn't seem particularly surprised.

They had been speculating that the vibranium body was destined to become Vision, and now it was all but confirmed.

"That also explains why Vision is on our side—because we prevented Ultron from uploading himself into that body! Whatever Ultron was planning, we managed to stop it in the end," Captain America realized.

Everyone exchanged glances. They hadn't expected the Tony Stark in the footage to devise such a solution to counter Ultron, but when they considered who he was—Tony Stark—it suddenly didn't seem so surprising.

If he didn't do something unexpected and brilliant, he wouldn't be Tony Stark!

"But it seems that the Captain and Wanda are opposed to this plan," Rhodes observed, crossing his arms and hoping nothing would go wrong.

[Natasha propped herself up and realized she was in Strucker's base. Although Ultron had transformed it beyond recognition, she could still identify her surroundings.]

["The world made clean for the new man to rebuild. I was meant to be new. I was meant to be beautiful. The world would've looked to the sky and seen hope... seen mercy. Instead they'll look up in horror because of you."]

[Natasha remained uncertain about Ultron's intentions, so she could only lean against the wall and watch as he approached while continuing his monologue.]

["You've wounded me. I give you full marks for that. But, like the man said, 'What doesn't kill me...'" Before the robotic body could finish speaking, a large metallic hand burst through its head, tearing it to pieces.]

[This sudden, violent action caused Natasha to retreat in alarm, backing into a storage area.]

[Ultron continued speaking to her from his new, upgraded body: "...just makes me stronger!"]

[With that, he pulled up the iron gate of the storage area. Though Natasha was still catching her breath from the shock, she was reasonably certain that Ultron had no immediate plans to harm her.]

[Inside the Avengers Tower, Tony and Banner were uploading Jarvis's data into Vision's body. Banner connected large data cables to the regeneration cradle one by one.]

[Meanwhile, Natasha wasn't idle. Using what materials she could find, she secretly sent a message to Barton, who was monitoring several special frequencies.]

[Barton noticed the activity and immediately grabbed his headphones to listen carefully. Natasha was transmitting her location to him using Morse code. A smile spread across Barton's face as he deciphered it.]

[His worst fear had not materialized—Natasha was still alive. As long as she lived, there was hope for rescue!]

Chapter 389: The Birth of Vision

["This framework is not compatible!" Tony warned Banner while operating the computer.]

["The genetic coding is at ninety-seven percent! You have to upload that schematic in the next three minutes!" Banner replied urgently, his focus unwavering.]

[At this moment, Captain America arrived with Wanda and Pietro in tow: "I'm only gonna say this once!"]

[Tony interrupted him: "How about nonce?"]

[Captain America ignored Tony's quip and demanded, "Shut it down!"]

[Tony predictably refused: "Nope, not gonna happen!"]

["You don't know what you're doing!"]

[Banner looked at him accusingly and asked, "And you do? She's not in your head?" He gestured toward Wanda standing behind Captain America.]

["I know you're angry," Wanda stepped forward, addressing Banner directly.]

["Oh, we're way past that. I could choke the life out of you and never change a shade," Banner stared at Wanda, his tone cold and menacing.]

[Captain America saw the tension escalating between them and tried to defuse the situation: "Banner, after everything that's happened—"]

[Tony cut him off: "It's nothing compared to what's coming!"]

["You don't know what's in there!" Wanda insisted, her determination fueled by the horrific visions she'd glimpsed in Ultron's consciousness. "The creature in there is death!"]

["This isn't a game!"]

[Pietro, seeing the two sides at an impasse, raised his eyebrows helplessly, then activated his super-speed to instantly unplug all the power and data cables connected to the regeneration cradle.]

["No, no. Go on. You were saying?" Pietro smirked at Tony, but in the next second, a gunshot rang out.]

[Pietro watched a bullet slowly drift past him and blinked in confusion. Before he could react, the glass beneath his feet shattered.]

[The floor gave way and he plummeted downward. Wanda saw this and cried out, "Pietro!!!"]

[Barton, who had been waiting for just such a moment, planted his foot on Pietro's chest and said with satisfaction: "What? Didn't see that coming?"]

[At that moment, the regeneration cradle emitted an alarm: "Power loss critical!" Inside, Vision's fingers twitched slightly.]

[Tony immediately spun around and tried to salvage the situation: "I'm rerouting the upload!"]

[Seeing this, Captain America immediately hurled his shield, destroying the equipment around them.]

[Tony summoned his armored gauntlet and fired a repulsor blast at him, knocking Captain America to the ground.]

[He then quickly turned to allow the rest of his armor to assemble on his body.]

[Wanda prepared to cast a spell, but Banner rushed forward and restrained her: "Go ahead, piss me off!"]

[Captain America got to his feet and charged toward Tony. By now, Tony's armor was halfway assembled. Captain America leapt and delivered a powerful punch.]

[Tony fired an energy blast from the reactor in his chest, sending Captain America flying, but he too was knocked backward by the impact since his armor wasn't fully operational and couldn't properly channel the energy.]

[Wanda struck her palms together, sending a wave of chaos magic through her body that threw off Banner's grip, then immediately turned and used her powers to hurl Banner across the room.]

[Just as the conflict reached its peak, Thor suddenly bounded into the room and leapt onto the regeneration cradle. Everyone froze, uncertain of Thor's intentions.]

[Thor raised Mjölnir and summoned lightning. Banner, thinking Thor meant to destroy the cradle, shouted, "Wait!!!"]

[Brilliant, blinding light filled the room. After gathering sufficient energy, Thor channeled a massive surge of electricity directly into the regeneration cradle.]

[Instantly, the cradle's power indicators maxed out, and the progress bar that had been stalled at two-thirds rapidly reached completion.]

[Soon all the energy Thor had accumulated flowed into the regeneration cradle, and the room fell silent. Thor stared at the cradle expectantly.]

[A moment later, Vision burst through the cradle's enclosure, the force sending Thor, who had been standing on top, flying backward. Even Mjölnir clattered to the floor.]

[Vision, his synthetic skin a deep crimson, slowly emerged and crouched on the edge of the broken cradle. Everyone stared at this new being in shock as Thor rose from the ground.]

[Vision gradually stood upright, examining his hands and surveying his surroundings before focusing on Thor. Without warning, he lunged toward him.]

[Thor reacted with lightning reflexes, deflecting Vision's attack and sending him hurtling through the laboratory's glass partition. Vision halted just before he would have crashed through the building's exterior windows.]

[He began to study his reflection in the glass. Captain America retrieved his shield and prepared to attack, but Thor immediately raised his hand to stop him.]

[Vision seemed dissatisfied with his all-red appearance and changed the color of most of his body to a more humanoid tone, leaving only his head and certain accents in their original crimson hue.]

[Thor set his hammer aside as a gesture of goodwill, and the others left the damaged lab area to gather in the main hall.]

[Vision slowly floated back to face the group and said, "I'm sorry, that was... odd." He faltered, searching for the right word.]

[Thor supplied: "Strange."]

[Vision nodded appreciatively: "Thank you." His gaze fell on Thor's cape, and he created a similar golden cape for himself.]

["Thor, you helped create this?" Captain America realized that Thor hadn't intended to destroy Vision, but to bring him to life.]

[Thor explained calmly: "I had a vision." Through the Pool of Insight, Thor had become convinced that what he'd witnessed was a glimpse of the future, not mere illusion.]

["A whirlpool that sucks in all hope of life, and at its center is that." He pointed to the Mind Stone embedded in Vision's forehead.]

[Banner looked confused: "What, the gem?"]

["It's the Mind Stone. One of the six Infinity Stones, the greatest power in the universe, unparalleled in its destructive capabilities." Thor explained the nature of the Infinity Stones.]

[Captain America looked puzzled: "Then why would you—"]

["Because Stark is right," Thor said, anticipating the question.]

[Banner sighed: "Oh, it's definitely the end times."]

["The Avengers cannot defeat Ultron," Thor stated matter-of-factly. They might destroy his physical forms, but they couldn't eradicate his presence from the network.]

[Vision concurred: "Not alone."]

Chapter 390: The War Is About to Begin

[Captain America looks at Vision and asks, "Why does your voice sound like JARVIS?"]

["We reconfigured JARVIS's operational matrix. Created something new," Tony explained.]

[Captain America immediately thought of Ultron, and replied dryly: "I think I've had my fill of new."]

[Vision turned to Captain America: "You think I'm a child of Ultron?"]

["You're not?"]

[Vision shook his head: "I'm not Ultron. I'm not JARVIS. I am... I am."]

[He exchanged glances with Tony and Banner, and Banner glanced at Tony meaningfully.]

["I looked in your head and saw annihilation," Wanda said, stepping forward to confront Vision.]

[Vision replied simply, "Look again."]

[Barton approached and remarked sarcastically to Wanda: "Yeah, her approval means jack to me."]

["Their powers, our fears, Ultron himself—they all came from the Mind Stone. It's nothing compared to what it can unleash. But with it on our side..."]

[Vision asked: "What will you do?"]

[Banner didn't answer, simply staring at him in silence. Vision understood the implied threat and paced slowly.]

["I don't want to kill Ultron. He's unique, and he's in pain. But that pain will roll over the Earth. So he must be destroyed—every form he's built, every trace of his presence on the net."]

[Finally, Pietro reentered with an AK-47 and fired several rounds into the ceiling, then shouted, "Get off your asses!" He tossed the weapon to a nearby officer and vanished in a blur.]
