[OP Marine Officer Luffy] Chapter 551 - 555

Chapter 551: Diplomatic Maneuvers

Almost instinctively, Vivi's years of royal training asserted themselves just as Luffy began to speak. The court etiquette ingrained through countless lessons helped her regain her composure, transforming her lovestruck gaze into one of appropriate diplomatic warmth.

The reunion between Admiral and Princess proceeded with formal decorum rather than the earth-shattering emotional display some observers might have anticipated.

After a brief moment of hesitation, Luffy smoothly pivoted to offer a polite greeting to the beautiful princess.

Vivi maintained her poise perfectly, responding to Luffy's formal address with an elegant yet warm reply, offering the official blessings of the Alabasta Kingdom with flawless delivery.

With these formalities concluded, their direct interaction temporarily ceased as protocol demanded.

Both understood the constraints of their public roles—Admiral and Princess—even as their eyes communicated messages no diplomatic script could contain.

As with previous diplomatic visits, Luffy proceeded through the established routine. Guided by King Cobra's introductions, he met prominent nobles and distinguished merchants of Alabasta one by one, exchanging courtesies and acknowledging their positions.

Most observers failed to notice the quick, meaningful glances exchanged between the handsome Admiral and the beautiful Princess throughout these proceedings. Their silent communication occurred through subtle cues invisible to all but the most perceptive onlookers.

Though the specific meaning of these exchanges remained their secret, King Cobra's increasingly darkened expression suggested he had noticed the silent conversation—and perhaps didn't entirely approve.

Meanwhile, Nami and Ain, following closely behind Luffy, shared knowing eye-rolls at the obvious tension between the pair.

The two women had witnessed similar scenes on previous stops of their diplomatic journey, though perhaps none quite so charged with unspoken emotion as this reunion in Alabasta.

Following tradition, Cobra hosted an extravagant welcome banquet in Luffy's honor. Drawing on his experience from numerous similar functions throughout his tour, Luffy navigated the social labyrinth with practiced ease, maintaining an appropriately pleasant expression throughout.

When approached by guests bearing wine glasses—regardless of their gender, age, or social status—he would politely clink glasses, take a measured sip, and engage in brief conversation. Then, with diplomatic skill that belied his usually straightforward nature, he would gracefully extricate himself from any attempts to secure special favors or introduce eligible daughters.

Like a slippery fish, he moved among the assembled dignitaries with surprising agility, never remaining in one conversation long enough for anyone to corner him with requests or propositions.

This technique, perfected over dozens of similar receptions, had become something of a trademark—much to the frustration of social climbers across the Grand Line.

Guests hoping to establish connections or curry favor with the famous Admiral found themselves thwarted at every turn. Fortunately, having accompanied Luffy to numerous such functions, his entourage handled the social dynamics with equal finesse, deflecting inquiries and maintaining appropriate diplomatic boundaries.

The elaborate banquet concluded earlier than many guests would have preferred. While a select few who had been formally introduced by Cobra himself managed to accomplish their objectives, most departed with their ambitions unfulfilled.

Under the king's guidance, Luffy and his companions were escorted to their designated accommodations within the palace. The Admiral's quarters, naturally, were among the most luxurious in the royal residence, reserved typically for visiting heads of state.

Upon reaching his chambers, however, Luffy did not immediately retire as might have been expected after such a long day. Instead, he removed his formal Admiral's coat, leaving only his tailored shirt, and settled comfortably on the suite's ornate sofa.

The room reflected Alabasta's distinctive architectural style—high ceilings to mitigate the desert heat, intricate geometric patterns adorning the walls, and large windows designed to capture evening breezes.

Helping himself to the assortment of exotic fruits arranged on the coffee table, Luffy waited patiently, as though anticipating a visitor.

His expectation was rewarded shortly. After approximately half an hour, a gentle knock sounded at his door.

Upon opening it, Luffy found himself facing an unfamiliar palace attendant. The young woman bowed slightly, her posture revealing a mixture of excitement and nervousness at addressing such an important figure.

"My Lord Admiral," she began respectfully, "I apologize for disturbing you at this hour. His Majesty King Cobra, concerned that you might be fatigued from your journey, has sent me to invite you to experience a traditional Alabastan relaxation ritual that might alleviate your weariness."

Studying the poised servant before him, Luffy couldn't help feeling slightly disappointed. He had half-expected either Cobra or Vivi themselves to pay him a private visit.

Perhaps, he mused, the princess's natural shyness had prevented her from seeking him out directly. Or more likely, her father was ensuring propriety was maintained.

"Since His Majesty has extended this invitation, I would be discourteous to decline," Luffy replied with diplomatic smoothness. "I'm certainly intrigued by these traditional practices you've mentioned. Please, lead the way."

The attendant bowed once more, and as she straightened, her gaze briefly—perhaps unintentionally—lingered on Luffy's face before drifting to the muscular contours visible beneath his fitted shirt. A faint blush colored her cheeks as she turned to guide him through the palace corridors.

Luffy had assumed the "traditional relaxation ritual" was merely a pretext for Cobra to speak with him privately about matters of state—or perhaps his daughter. When the attendant finally led him to their destination, however, the Admiral found himself genuinely surprised.

Before him lay a spacious chamber dominated by an enormous sunken bath, steam rising gently from its surface. The walls featured intricate mosaic patterns depicting Alabasta's history, while aromatic oils perfumed the humid air.

Bewildered, Luffy turned to his guide, his expression questioning.

"Are you certain we're in the correct location? This appears to be a bathhouse."

The maid lowered her gaze demurely, suddenly seeming unable to meet his eyes.

"You are indeed at the correct destination, Admiral. His Majesty King Cobra awaits you inside."

Though Luffy could indeed sense the king's presence within the bathing chamber, he couldn't help feeling puzzled. What sort of monarch conducted diplomatic discussions in a bath?

Still, he reminded himself, different cultures maintained different customs. In Wano, important negotiations often occurred in hot springs, while in other nations, shared meals or hunting expeditions served similar purposes.

As a visitor, he would respect local traditions, unusual as they might seem.

Glancing around the antechamber, Luffy spotted a changing area and addressed the attendant once more.

"I presume I should change my attire there?"

The moment these words left his lips, the maid's head snapped up, her eyes suddenly alight with an intensity that caught the Admiral completely off guard.

"Allow me to assist you!" she exclaimed with unexpected enthusiasm.

Luffy found himself taking an involuntary step backward, suddenly wondering what exactly King Cobra had in mind for this "traditional" Alabastan experience.

Chapter 552: Bathhouse Diplomacy

It seemed that even as an Admiral, honored guest of the king, and savior of the kingdom, Luffy couldn't escape the attention of enthusiastic admirers—especially when they had legitimate reasons to approach him.

The palace attendant's eyes had widened with unconcealed appreciation as Luffy had politely but firmly declined her offer of "assistance." Had he shown any less resolve, she might have attempted to take measurements beyond what propriety allowed.

Securing the towel around his waist, Luffy had finally managed to send the reluctant maid away before proceeding toward the bath chamber. As he walked, he couldn't help but remember that this was likely the same royal bathhouse where the Straw Hat Pirates and King Cobra had once bathed together in the canon.

That particular bath had ended with Nami delivering her infamous "Happiness Punch" to the men—a sight that had cost them each 100,000 berries. In retrospect, perhaps discussing matters in a bathhouse truly was an Alabastan tradition rather than Cobra's personal eccentricity.

Steam enveloped Luffy as he entered the main bathing area. Through the mist, he spotted Cobra reclining by the edge of the large pool, apparently dozing with a small towel draped over his face.

"Uncle Cobra, I've arrived," Luffy called out, announcing his presence with respectful familiarity.

"Hmm? Ah! Luffy, you're here." Startled from his light slumber, Cobra hastily removed the towel from his face, looking slightly embarrassed at being caught napping. "I must be showing my age, falling asleep in such a short time. Please, join me quickly—this is natural hot spring water drawn from deep beneath the desert. It has remarkable restorative properties."

"You're hardly old, Uncle," Luffy replied with an easy smile as he stepped into the pool. "You simply enjoyed too much wine at the banquet."

Slowly immersing himself in the steaming water beside Alabasta's ruler, Luffy felt the warmth envelop his battle-hardened muscles. A contented sigh escaped his lips. "I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a proper hot spring. This feeling is truly magnificent."

The heated water rose to his chest, prompting Luffy to close his eyes in appreciation as tension he hadn't realized he was carrying began to dissolve. Beside him, Cobra nodded in agreement, equally content in the therapeutic waters.

The formality of the official welcome had clearly given way to something more genuine. Their current mode of address—Luffy calling the monarch "Uncle" while Cobra used his given name—reflected the comfortable rapport they'd developed since their first meeting years ago.

After several minutes of peaceful soaking, Luffy decided to address the obvious. "I suspect Uncle Cobra didn't invite me here solely to enjoy your hot springs, excellent as they are. What's on your mind?"

Cobra nodded slightly, appreciating the directness. They were both perceptive men with little interest in unnecessary pretense.

"Nothing too serious," the king began, adjusting his position in the water. "I merely wished to hear about your recent experiences directly from you. Everything I know comes from newspaper reports, and as you're well aware, publications contain both facts and fabrications. Firsthand accounts are always more reliable than what those journalists print, particularly that troublemaker Morgans."

Cobra paused before adding, "Consider it satisfying the curiosity of a bored old monarch."

"I understand completely," Luffy laughed, though the corners of his mouth twitched almost imperceptibly beneath the rising steam. "I've fielded similar inquiries throughout my diplomatic tour."

Anyone unfamiliar with court politics might have believed Cobra's innocent explanation, but Luffy recognized the subtle interrogation. The king was discreetly probing whether the gossip surrounding his romantic entanglements—contained any truth.

Since Cobra had only Morgans' sensationalized reporting to work with, he understandably sought confirmation from the source. Luffy, however, wasn't about to discuss his personal life so transparently, even with his prospective father-in-law.

With strategic redirection, Luffy began discussing his official duties instead. "Since my promotion to Admiral, my responsibilities have expanded considerably beyond combat operations..."

He leaned back against the smooth stone edge of the bath, adopting a relaxed posture that belied his careful word selection.

"You may not be aware, Uncle, but after the Marines liberated Wano from Kaido's tyranny, we also removed the corrupt shogunate that had collaborated with him. Since then, due to complex political factors, Wano has operated without a formal ruler."

Steam swirled between them as Luffy continued, "As commander of the regional Marine branch, I've unofficially assumed responsibility for maintaining stability throughout the country. Though Wano's population is relatively modest—just over 300,000 citizens—the governance challenges consume half my waking hours. I actually hoped to seek your counsel on several administrative matters."

Having successfully pivoted the conversation toward governance rather than gossip, Luffy proceeded to outline various challenges he faced in Wano.

Cobra initially appeared disappointed at the evasion but quickly became engaged as Luffy described specific governance issues. As a ruler widely considered among the wisest in the Grand Line, Cobra couldn't resist offering his expertise.

The king was also genuinely surprised to learn that Luffy—still quite young by leadership standards—was effectively administering an entire nation. For all his combat prowess, administrative competence represented an unexpected dimension to the Admiral's capabilities.

Drawing on almost a thousand years of Nefertari family governance traditions, Cobra analyzed Luffy's challenges and offered practical solutions based on Alabasta's experiences. What had begun as Luffy's attempt to divert attention transformed into a genuine masterclass in statecraft from one of the world's most respected monarchs.

For all his tactical maneuvering, Luffy found himself absorbing valuable governance principles that would genuinely benefit Wano's people—a fortuitous outcome from what might have been an awkward interrogation about his romantic life.

Chapter 553: A Princess and Her Rivals

The impromptu seminar on governance lasted a full two hours.

When Luffy finally suggested they conclude their bath—his fingertips thoroughly wrinkled from the extended immersion—Cobra appeared reluctant to end their discussion. The king had grown increasingly animated as he shared insights accumulated through decades of rulership.

Throughout their exchange, Cobra had learned extensive details about Luffy's policies in Wano. Each revelation only strengthened his already favorable impression of his prospective son-in-law. By the time they parted, the elderly monarch was still grasping Luffy's hand, emphasizing final points about balancing firmness with compassion when leading a diverse population.

Luffy, of course, agreed respectfully with Cobra's wisdom before asking the same attendant who had escorted him to assist the slightly intoxicated king back to his royal chambers.

The cool evening breeze that greeted Luffy as he exited the bathhouse provided welcome relief after the prolonged heat. As he walked, droplets of water still clinging to his hair occasionally dripped onto his shoulders, sending slight shivers down his spine in the desert night air.

Meanwhile, that same breeze gradually cleared Cobra's mind as he was escorted back to his quarters. By the time he sank into his luxurious royal bed, he had regained most of his mental clarity.

Reflecting on their bathhouse conversation, Cobra nodded to himself, pleased with Luffy's demonstrated leadership philosophy. Despite his youth, the Admiral's actions embodied the justice he claimed to uphold. He hadn't disappointed the countless citizens who regarded him as a symbol of hope in troubled times.

Yet something nagged at the king's consciousness—a persistent feeling that he'd overlooked something important. He had specifically arranged this private meeting with Luffy for a particular purpose, yet somehow...

"Blast it all!" Cobra suddenly exclaimed, startling his attendant. "I completely forgot to ask about those rumors!"

The king groaned and covered his face with a pillow. Somehow, Luffy had managed to completely derail his intended interrogation about those troublesome newspaper reports.

After parting ways with Cobra, Luffy had no intention of seeking out other officials. Escorted by a palace attendant, he made his way directly back toward his guest quarters.

As they approached his door, the maid noticed his hesitation. "Is something the matter, Admiral?" she inquired, wondering if he required additional service.

Luffy paused, his heightened senses detecting three distinct auras within his chamber. With a resigned shake of his head, he addressed the attendant. "Everything's fine. You may return to your duties. Thank you for your assistance."

Though clearly puzzled, the maid maintained her professional demeanor. She offered a respectful bow before departing, leaving Luffy alone before his chamber door.

After a moment's contemplation, he grasped the ornate handle and pushed the door open gently.

Click.

The soft sound of the latch catching announced his entrance. Near the room's expansive bed, three women who had been engaged in animated conversation immediately turned toward the sound, their expressions varying as they recognized him.

Ain and Nami appeared entirely comfortable with the situation, but Vivi visibly startled, quickly rising from her seated position on the edge of the bed.

"Admiral Luffy," she said hurriedly, her formal address betraying her nervousness. "I hope you'll forgive the intrusion. When we found your room empty, we weren't certain when you'd return. I apologize for entering without permission."

The princess still wore her elaborate white formal dress from the welcoming ceremony. The exquisite garment, perfectly tailored to her figure, created a striking visual contrast against the room's rich colors—a testament to how the right attire on the right person could create an almost breathtaking impression.

"You're being far too formal, Princess Vivi," Luffy replied smoothly, closing the door behind him. "I'm merely a guest in your palace. You, as the rightful heir to Alabasta, may go wherever you please within these walls."

Relief visibly washed over Vivi's features upon hearing he took no offense at her presence. However, her expression quickly shifted to mild dissatisfaction at his mode of address.

After tucking a strand of blue hair behind her ear—a nervous habit she'd developed in recent years—Vivi clasped her hands behind her back and adopted a more casual tone.

"Please, just call me Vivi," she suggested with forced lightness, though a faint blush colored her cheeks. "This isn't our first meeting, after all. Wouldn't you consider us friends by now?"

Though her delivery aimed for casualness, the hopeful undercurrent in her voice was unmistakable.

Noting her reaction, Luffy decided to test the waters. With a playful smile, he countered, "Just friends? And here I thought you'd come to discuss our marriage arrangements at this late hour, my dear Vivi."

The princess was completely unprepared for such direct teasing. Her eyes widened dramatically, mouth opening and closing without producing coherent words as her face flushed crimson.

"What exactly do you think you're doing?!"

The sharp interjection came not from the flustered princess but from Nami, who had materialized beside them holding a bright red apple. With theatrical disgust, she took a dramatic bite and grimaced. "Ugh, so sour!"

Whether her comment referred to the fruit or Luffy's flirtatious behavior remained deliberately ambiguous.

Ain likewise offered Luffy a disapproving glare, rolling her eyes expressively before taking Vivi's hand and guiding the still-blushing princess back toward the bed.

"Don't mind him," she advised Vivi gently. "He often speaks nonsense when he's tired. It's best not to take anything he says after diplomatic functions too seriously."

As Vivi allowed herself to be led away, her expression reflected a complex mixture of embarrassment, disappointment, and something else—perhaps determination. Whatever silent communication had passed between the three women before his arrival, it seemed Luffy had just stumbled into the middle of something far more complicated than standard diplomatic protocol.

For all his tactical brilliance in battle and growing political acumen, the Admiral suddenly found himself navigating potentially more treacherous waters than any he'd faced on the Grand Line.

Chapter 554: Vivi's Shocking Discovery

For Vivi, whose experience with romance came primarily from novels rather than real life, Luffy's directness proved overwhelming. The princess had imagined a traditional courtship—one where they would gradually transition to first-name basis, slowly develop feelings for each other, and eventually, when the right moment arrived, consider marriage.

She had, after all, worked up tremendous courage just to express her interest. According to every romance novel in the royal library, Luffy should have responded with gentle encouragement while respecting the proper progression of their relationship.

Instead, he had completely bypassed the expected sequence, jumping straight to marriage discussions! Though Vivi wasn't opposed to the idea in principle, the timing felt rushed. They had only met face-to-face twice!

Her mind raced frantically. "What should I do? What should I do? Should I agree? But isn't it too soon? I haven't even had my royal coming-of-age ceremony yet. And what would Father say? What if he objects?"

Watching Vivi's expression cycle rapidly between delight and distress, Luffy suppressed a chuckle. He retrieved three chairs from the room's elegant sitting area and placed them facing the bed where the women were gathered.

Nami responded with a disdainful snort, tossing aside her half-eaten apple with theatrical disgust. She nudged Vivi's shoulder impatiently.

"Hey! What are you daydreaming about? Snap out of it."

"Oh! I—I do!" Vivi blurted, startled into voicing her internal thoughts aloud.

The other women's expressions darkened instantly. Nami promptly stuffed an unpeeled orange into Vivi's mouth and replied with mock outrage:

"You're accepting his proposal? Ain and I haven't even settled our marriage arrangements yet, and you want to jump the queue as a newcomer? No chance! Get to the back of the line, Princess!"

Ain remained silent but crossed her arms with an imperious look that spoke volumes. She nodded in solidarity with Nami, projecting the unmistakable aura of a senior sister whose authority shouldn't be questioned.

After removing the impromptu citrus gag, Vivi stared at the two women in shock. Just moments ago, they had been chatting and laughing together like friends. The princess abruptly dropped all pretense of royal decorum.

"You conniving wenches!" she exclaimed, her refined palace accent giving way to something sharper. "Sneaking into my fiancé's room in the middle of the night and ganging up on me! Don't forget whose palace this is!"

Vivi leapt to her feet, confronting the women who—in her mind—were attempting to steal her rightful partner.

"I should have known! You were the aggressive ones when we met before. I thought after Luffy and I settled matters, you two would have given up. But your shameless persistence knows no bounds!"

"Whoa, whoa, don't go too far," Ain finally broke her silence, her voice cool but with a dangerous edge. "Listen, little girl—Luffy and I trained together at Marine Headquarters when you were still playing make-believe with your dolls."

The Vice Admiral's eyes narrowed slightly. "Only someone truly brazen would have her father arrange a convenient engagement. Without that royal intervention, you wouldn't even be in consideration as his fiancée."

As she spoke, Ain exchanged a meaningful glance with Nami, who immediately caught the cue.

"That's right," Nami added with exaggerated deference. "Sister Ain is the head woman in our family. All of Luffy's girlfriends, including myself, answer to her."

With a casual flick of her orange hair, she continued, "Just so you understand the order—Sister Ain was first, I was second, Captain Hina was third, and Lieutenant Commander Kujaku is fourth."

Vivi's indignation transformed into stunned disbelief.

"A... a collection of girlfriends? And I would only rank fifth?!" Her voice quavered as she turned pleading eyes toward Luffy. "Luffy... is this true?"

Faced with Vivi's pitiful expression, even Luffy—a man who had navigated the deadliest waters of the Grand Line without flinching—felt a momentary pang of discomfort.

Yet, as someone who had indeed cultivated relationships with multiple beautiful and powerful women across the seas, this awkward sensation lasted barely a second before he composed himself.

With a perfectly serious expression, he gave Vivi a solemn nod, confirming everything.

The princess stood frozen in shock.

She could have accepted one rival, perhaps even two. But to discover there was an established hierarchy, with herself relegated to fifth position? And in her own kingdom, no less!

"These women have some nerve," she thought bitterly. "Don't they know the saying about dragons and local snakes? This is Alabasta—MY territory!"

The more Vivi contemplated her situation, the greater her indignation grew. She felt thoroughly deceived, as though she'd been made a fool of in her own palace.

Her glare at Ain and Nami could have evaporated the royal fountains. She looked ready to abandon all princess-like restraint and launch herself at them in a most unroyal display of combat.

Nami, entirely unfazed by the royal death stare, merely crossed her arms and maintained her smug expression.

"Don't overthink this—I'm actually doing you a favor," she declared airily. "As long as you accept my authority, I'm willing to endorse your application. Besides, fifth place is quite prestigious, all things considered."

She casually examined her fingernails before adding, "You should know that even the Empress of Amazon Lily and the future Queen of Dressrosa rank behind you. So really, Alabasta's reputation remains intact."

Vivi's eye twitched dangerously.

"So... I should thank you?" she asked through gritted teeth.

"No need for gratitude," Nami replied with unwavering confidence. "It's simply part of my responsibilities as second rank."

Chapter 555: North Blue Tour Group: Member +1

As the epicenter of this emotional storm, Luffy maintained the perfect composure of a seasoned scoundrel. He neither confirmed nor denied, neither accepted nor rejected—offering no definitive stance whatsoever.

He didn't even need to speak; his devoted companions handled all explanations on his behalf, a system refined through considerable practice.

As the self-proclaimed senior wife, Ain considered her willingness to accept Vivi as her greatest concession—one that absolved her from further involvement in persuading the princess. Thus, the considerable task of convincing (or manipulating) Vivi naturally fell to Nami.

"Wait a moment," Vivi interrupted, her diplomatic training reasserting itself as she sought clarity. "I'm familiar with Amazon Lily and its famous Empress, Boa Hancock."

Despite her outrage, curiosity still flickered in the princess's eyes.

"But what about Dressrosa? If I recall correctly, King Riku Dold III still rules that kingdom."

Nami, prepared for this line of questioning, waved her hand dismissively.

"That's merely temporary. King Riku has already planned his abdication. The throne's heir is his second daughter, Viola—also known as Princess Viola of Dressrosa."

She paused for dramatic effect. "And yes, she's another of Luffy's special companions."

As Nami related this information, Vivi inhaled deeply to steady herself. She glanced toward Luffy, who had quietly moved to stand by the window, apparently absorbed in the moonlit view of Alubarna's skyline. For reasons she couldn't fully articulate, seeing him somewhat removed from the conversation eased the pressure constricting her chest.

The night breeze stirred the curtains as Luffy gazed outward, his powerful silhouette framed against the starry desert sky. Despite everything, Vivi couldn't help but admire the commanding presence he projected even in silent contemplation.

Though her knowledge of Dressrosa was limited, Vivi understood it was a significant New World nation with centuries of history. All she knew came from diplomatic briefings—that the current ruler, Riku Dold III, was a peaceful monarch devoted to his people, and that folklore mentioned mysterious dwarves inhabiting the island.

Her father had once mentioned that Dressrosa possessed a glorious history dating back hundreds of years, though the specifics remained unclear to her.

"If Dressrosa's princess can accept sharing Luffy with others," she reasoned, "perhaps it wouldn't be entirely unreasonable for me to become one of his partners as well..."

"No! What am I thinking?!" Vivi mentally chastised herself. "He's so young yet surrounded by so many women. Who knows how many more will join his collection in the future? I can't make this mistake!"

She attempted to steel her resolve, to remember her dignity as Alabasta's princess.

Yet when she turned to glimpse Luffy's towering figure silhouetted against the window, memories of their first meeting flooded back—the overwhelming sense of amazement she'd felt in his presence. Despite everything, she couldn't bring herself to abandon what they might have together.

To Vivi, Luffy represented something precious—her idealized hero, the shining beacon she couldn't forget no matter how hard she tried.

Like anyone captivated by their first love, she found herself extraordinarily forgiving of his flaws. Thinking of the lonely nights she'd spent reading newspaper accounts of his adventures, the collection of clippings hidden in her private chambers, Vivi simply couldn't bring herself to walk away.

In her mind's eye, she imagined the classic scenario of conscience—a tiny angel and devil perched on her shoulders, offering contradictory advice.

The miniature angel pleaded earnestly: "This man is clearly a philanderer! Don't forgive him—you deserve better!"

Meanwhile, the devil countered passionately: "Nonsense! There is no finer man in all the seas. So he appreciates beautiful women—what exceptional man doesn't? As long as he treats you well, what else matters?"

Both arguments held merit, leaving Vivi even more conflicted than before.

Seeing the princess's furrowed brow and obvious internal struggle, Ain decided it was time to intervene as the group's senior member.

"Since you're having difficulty deciding," she suggested with unexpected gentleness, "perhaps more time together would help clarify your feelings. Why not join our diplomatic tour of the North Blue?"

The former Vice Admiral's tone softened further. "You'll experience worlds beyond Alabasta's borders and expand your horizons. More importantly, you'll have the opportunity to better understand our... unique arrangement. When we return, you can give your answer. By then, I believe the right choice will be clear to you."

Vivi's sapphire eyes widened as sudden clarity washed over her. Mentally dismissing both her conflicting inner voices, she nodded with unexpected enthusiasm.

"Yes! That sounds perfect. I—" She caught herself, adjusting her tone to project royal dignity. "I mean, I really should evaluate whether Luffy and your group meet my standards of approval."

Nami's lips curled into a smirk as she rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath: "As if we need a child's approval."

Vivi's enhanced royal hearing caught every word. "What was that?! I've had quite enough of your attitude, you flat-chested brat! You barely look older than me—stop pretending you're some wise elder!"

Nami's face contorted with fury as she lunged forward. "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY ABOUT MY CHEST?! Say it again if you dare!"

As the two women squared off, Ain exchanged a knowing glance with Luffy, who had finally turned from the window to observe the unfolding chaos with an amused expression. For better or worse, it seemed their diplomatic tour had just acquired its newest member.

Somewhere in the royal palace, King Cobra slept peacefully, blissfully unaware that by morning, his beloved daughter would be requesting permission to embark on an extended journey with her "fiancé" and his entourage of admirers.
