[Marvel : Spoiling Spider-man] Chapter 236 - 240

[After gathering their equipment, Steve Rogers and his team drove to an airport in Germany. As they stepped out of the car, Clint Barton approached them with a casual wave.]
[The two shook hands firmly. “You know I wouldn’t have called you unless I had no other choice,” Steve said seriously.]
[“Hey, man! You needed help, and I owe you one. Besides, I still have debts to pay,” Clint replied with a smirk. He glanced toward Wanda Maximoff, who was walking toward them with her arms crossed.]
[Steve gave Wanda a grateful nod. “Thank you for standing by me.”]
[She tilted her head slightly and shrugged. “It’s about time I took action.”]
[“Where’s the new guy?” Steve turned back to Clint.]
[“Oh, he’s eager!” Clint grinned, turning toward a van parked nearby. “Gave him some coffee—should be fine.”]
[As he slid the door open, the noise startled Scott Lang, who had dozed off inside. He blinked in confusion before quickly stepping out.]
[“Uh… What time zone is this?” Scott muttered groggily, rubbing his eyes.]
[Clint gave him a shove forward. “Come on, man, let’s go!”]
[Scott stumbled slightly before his eyes widened in recognition. He extended his hand excitedly. “Captain America!”]
[Steve shook his hand with a warm smile. “Mr. Lang.”]
[Scott was visibly starstruck. “Wow… What an honor! I think I’ve been holding your hand for too long—this is awesome! Captain America!”]
[Turning to Wanda, he added enthusiastically, “And you! You’re amazing too!”]
[Wanda chuckled at his energy, while Scott, unable to resist, gave Steve’s bicep a quick squeeze. “Oh my God,” he murmured in awe.]
[“Look, I know you know a lot of great people, so… thanks for thinking of me,” Scott added sincerely.]
[Steve narrowed his eyes slightly, the corner of his lips curling up in amusement.]
[Scott then turned and pointed at Sam Wilson. “Hey! Man!”]
[Sam nodded coolly. “How’s life?”]
[Scott awkwardly scratched the back of his head. “Uh… Nice to meet you! And, um… about that last time…”]
[Sam cut him off before he could finish. He had no intention of letting more people know about how Ant-Man had outmaneuvered him. That incident was best left in the past.]
[With a forced smile, Sam squinted at Scott. “Yeah, that was a great encounter. Just know—it won’t happen again.”]
[Steve brought the conversation back on track. “Did they tell you what we’re up against?”]
[Scott turned back to Steve. “I heard something about… uh… some crazy assassins?”]
[Steve nodded. “What we’re doing isn’t sanctioned. If you come with us, you’ll become a wanted man.”]
[Scott blinked, then shrugged. “Yeah, I’m used to that.”]
[Bucky, standing silently nearby, reminded them, “It’s time to go.”]
[“We have a helicopter waiting,” Clint added.]
[Just as he finished speaking, the airport loudspeaker blared, “Emergency! All passengers must evacuate immediately!”]
[“They’re clearing the airport,” Bucky noted calmly.]
[Sam folded his arms. “Stark.”]
[Scott looked over in shock. “Stark?!”]
[Steve exhaled, already expecting this. “Suit up.”]
Tony Stark watched the footage with a frown. “Who the hell is that? Are we seriously getting more heroes out of nowhere? Where are they all coming from?”
Too many new faces were showing up all at once. He instructed J.A.R.V.I.S. to pull up data on Scott Lang. His records weren’t exactly classified, and within seconds, J.A.R.V.I.S. had compiled everything on him.
At this point, Scott hadn’t yet been imprisoned for the Vista robbery, making him look fairly clean—though he had lost his job for whistleblowing.
Meanwhile, Scott himself was completely baffled. He was just an ordinary guy. How had he ended up connected to all this? Before he could wrap his head around it, he got a call from the police, instructing him to stay home.
Scott frowned. His plan to hack Vista’s security hadn’t even happened yet, so what evidence could they possibly have? He was confident they had nothing on him—he was still a model citizen, at least technically. So, he decided to just sit tight and wait.
Elsewhere, Phil Coulson and Natasha Romanoff were already on their way to find Scott. They were close enough that there was no need for a Quinjet—just a quick retrieval mission.
At the same time, J.A.R.V.I.S. successfully tracked Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. Tony didn’t hesitate—he had to get to them first before anyone with bad intentions did.
Tony skimmed their files. The twins were war orphans, but the details of how they lost their parents were unclear. He didn’t dwell on it—he just needed to move.
Nick Fury, having assessed the situation, gave Clint clearance to take the Quinjet. Steve immediately decided to go with him. No matter what, Wanda was part of his team. He couldn’t leave her behind.
[After suiting up, Steve Rogers took the lead, sprinting toward the waiting helicopter. Just as they neared it, a small projectile shot out from an unknown source.]
[In an instant, the helicopter’s electrical systems shorted out, smoke billowing from the propellers. Steve skidded to a stop.]
[Above them, Tony hovered in his Mark armor, extending his arm toward the damaged chopper. Rhodey descended beside him in his War Machine suit.]
[They landed in front of Steve, standing side by side. Tony smirked. “Isn’t it funny how we always run into familiar faces at airports? Weird, right?”]
[Rhodey nodded in agreement. “So weird.”]
[“Listen to me, Tony!” Steve pleaded. “That psychiatrist—he’s behind all of this!”]
[Before Tony could reply, another figure emerged—Black Panther, landing gracefully beside them. “Captain.”]
[“Your Majesty,” Steve acknowledged him with a nod.]
[Tony cut in impatiently. “Look, Ross gave me thirty-six hours to bring you in. We’re down to twelve. Help me out here, man.”]
[Steve stood firm. “You’ve got the wrong guy.”]
[Tony’s jaw tightened. “Your judgment is clouded! Your buddy killed a lot of innocent people yesterday.”]
[“There are five more super soldiers like him! I can’t let that doctor get to them first, Tony. I won’t.”]
[Steve’s voice was resolute, unwavering. He didn’t want to fight Tony, but he wouldn’t back down either.]
[“Steve,” Natasha’s voice called from behind. He turned to see her standing there, arms crossed. “You know what comes next. Are you really going to fight your way out again?”]
[Steve didn’t answer. He just turned back to Tony, meeting his eyes in silence.]
Chapter 237: The Arrival of Spider-Man
"Your Majesty?!" T’Challa shot up in shock. Would he really become king in the future? That meant something had happened to his father!
“Father!” Shuri turned to her father, her expression filled with concern.
T’Chaka gave her a calm nod, signaling that she need not worry. He had always known that death was inevitable, but he hadn’t expected it to come so soon. Based on Spider-Man’s apparent age, he could roughly deduce the timeline of the events unfolding on the screen.
At most, he had four years left to live. The cause of his death was unknown, but given his strength and the enhancements from the heart-shaped herb, it was unlikely to be from disease. Murder was the most probable explanation.
Combining this with what Scott had mentioned about multiple assassins and Steve Rogers’s warning about the super soldiers, he quickly pieced together a theory: he would be assassinated. Perhaps Bucky Barnes was responsible, or maybe he was wrongly accused. Either way, T’Challa would inherit the Black Panther mantle and embark on a mission to track down the killer.
Realizing this, T’Chaka began considering whether it was time to establish an alliance with the Avengers. He was no longer certain that Wakanda could remain untouched by the growing chaos in the world.
Meanwhile, Tony Stark, still en route to find Wanda and Pietro, furrowed his brows at the sudden appearance of Black Panther. Who the hell is this guy? Is he a king?
Because T’Challa was fully suited in the Black Panther armor, Tony couldn’t recognize his voice. His curiosity was piqued—especially about the suit itself. What kind of technology was he using? Could he analyze it and replicate it in advance?
[Tony had no patience left to listen to Steve Rogers’s explanation. With an exasperated sigh, he muttered, “Alright! I’m done with this! Underoos!”]
[The moment he gave the signal, a web shot out and latched onto Steve Rogers’s shield, yanking it away. In an instant, Spider-Man’s webbing also wrapped around Steve Rogers’s wrists, binding him.]
[Spider-Man landed gracefully, looking straight at Steve Rogers. Tony smirked approvingly. “Nice job, kid.”]
[“Thanks! But—uh—my landing wasn’t ideal! Still getting used to this new suit! But hey, these are minor issues, Mr. Stark! The suit is amazing! Thank you!”]
[The moment Spider-Man started talking, his chatterbox personality was in full force. Tony, already regretting letting him speak, rolled his eyes and cut him off.]
[“Yeah, yeah—let’s not get sidetracked.”]
[“Right! Captain! I’m Spider-Man! Big fan!” Peter Parker finally introduced himself, giving a clumsy salute.]
[Steve, taken aback by the unexpected recruit, didn’t immediately respond. Tony, however, waved him off impatiently. “Yeah, yeah, introductions later!”]
“Wow! What an entrance! That was smooth!” The first-generation Spider-Man looked at his younger counterpart with admiration. Why did all the new Spider-Men have such cool moves?
Compared to them, he looked old-school! He suddenly felt the urge to come up with a flashier way to make an entrance in the future.
Gwen Stacy from his universe giggled at his frustration. She hadn’t expected her Peter, usually so reserved, to be this concerned about his image.
Covering her mouth, she laughed for a long time before finally stopping. The first-generation Spider-Man shot her a look of mock resentment. His slightly pouting expression made Gwen think he looked adorable.
Meanwhile, Aunt May looked at the youngest Peter Parker with amusement. “Peter, I didn’t expect you to talk this much when you got older,” she said, teasing him.
Little Spider-Man blushed furiously and, unable to come up with a response, buried his face into Aunt May’s embrace.
[“You look pretty busy,” Steve Rogers remarked dryly, watching Tony and Spider-Man interact.]
[Hearing this, Tony immediately shot back, “And you’re a complete idiot—for dragging Clint into this mess!”]
[“You took Wanda from the one place she felt safe! I’m trying—”]
[Tony let out a deep sigh, rubbing his temples in frustration. Finally, he glared at Steve and said, “I’m trying to stop you from tearing the Avengers apart.”]
[Steve met his gaze steadily. “You divided us when you signed.”]
[Tony exhaled sharply, holding Steve’s stare for a long moment before turning away. “Alright. That’s enough.”]
[Then, in a quieter voice, he gave one last warning. “You need to bring Barnes here and leave with us. Now. While we still have control over this.”]
[His voice dropped, more urgent. “Otherwise, a Joint Special Operations Command team will be dispatched—and they won’t hold back.”]
[Steve remained silent, looking off to the side. Tony clenched his jaw and whispered, “Please.” He didn’t want to fight Steve. Who would willingly fight a friend—a brother—after everything they had been through?]
[Just then, Sam’s voice crackled through Steve’s earpiece. “We found it.”]
[While Tony had been arguing with Steve, Sam had been quietly deploying a drone to locate the Quinjet. “It’s in Hangar 5, north runway.”]
[Hearing this, Steve suddenly raised his hands in surrender. Tony narrowed his eyes in suspicion just as Clint fired an arrow from the distance.]
[The arrow struck the webbing binding Steve’s hands, snapping it instantly. Realizing he had been tricked, Tony immediately activated his helmet and spun around.]
[“Action, Lang!”]
[Out of nowhere, something the size of an ant crawled onto Steve Rogers’s shield. Spider-Man sensed something and turned his head. “Wait—something’s—”]
[Before he could finish his sentence, Scott suddenly enlarged, kicked Spider-Man away, and grabbed the shield before landing firmly on the ground.]
[“What the hell?!” Rhodey’s eyes widened in shock. “What is that?!”]
[Scott turned to Steve and held out the shield. “Here you go, Cap.”]
“What the hell was that?!” Scott Lang (from the audience) was utterly baffled. He recognized his own voice—but he hadn’t expected to be that powerful!
Not only could he shrink to the size of an ant, but he had taken back Captain America’s shield right out of Spider-Man’s hands. And that was Spider-Man! Anyone familiar with him knew just how strong and fast he was.
Hank Pym was just as surprised. He had never met Scott Lang before, but he instantly recognized the suit. The Ant-Man suit!
Hope van Dyne, upon seeing Scott in the suit, immediately thought of her mother. She turned to her father, a questioning look in her eyes. “Did you give him that suit?”
Pym shook his head. He had no idea how Scott had gotten it.
This sparked yet another heated argument between the father and daughter, ending in another tense standoff between them.
Meanwhile, Darren Cross, Pym’s former protégé, had been watching closely. He had long suspected Pym was hiding something from him—but this was proof.
So there really was another Ant-Man suit.
And now, some nobody named Scott Lang was wearing it.
The realization fueled his determination. He had already been planning to oust Hank Pym from Pym Technologies. Now, he just needed to figure out how to convince Hope to side with him.
At the same time, other viewers were processing the situation.
Someone in the audience frowned. “That Ant-Man guy… I feel like I’ve seen something like this before.”
Others were more focused on the real issue.
“What did Tony sign?” someone muttered. Steve Rogers seemed convinced that the signature had caused the Avengers to split. Could it be that significant?
If so, then this document might be the direct cause of the Avengers breaking apart.
Chapter 238: The Airport Battle Begins
["Oh! That’s good! Okay! There are two targets in the parking lot—one of them is Maximoff! I’ll take care of her!"]
[Tony scanned Barton and Wanda behind him, then turned to Rhodey as he took off. “Rhodey, can you handle the Captain?”]
[Rhodey quickly analyzed the figures in the waiting hall. “Two more in the terminal—Wilson and Barnes!”]
[At the mention of Bucky’s name, T’Challa clenched his fists, his voice cold and unwavering. “Barnes is mine.”]
[Just as Rhodey prepared to engage, Steve Rogers threw his shield, striking him mid-air and knocking him back.]
[Spider-Man, still new to a large-scale battle like this, felt nervous. “Uh… Mr. Stark? What should I do?”]
[“Didn’t we go over this? Keep your distance—use your webs to slow them down,” Tony reminded him.]
[“Right! Got it!” The young Spider-Man immediately launched his webbing and swung into action.]
[T’Challa sprinted toward the terminal, only for Steve Rogers to chase after him. With a calculated throw, he sent his shield flying, striking Black Panther at the base of his neck and knocking him forward.]
[Not missing a beat, Steve lunged, grabbed T’Challa’s collar, and tossed him aside.]
[T’Challa landed on one knee, his piercing gaze locking onto Steve Rogers. “Move, Captain! I won’t say it again.”]
[When Steve refused to budge, T’Challa responded without hesitation—executing a seamless mid-air triple-kick. Steve Rogers blocked with his shield, but the impact still sent him skidding backward a few steps.]
"Whoa! That was awesome!" The second-generation Spider-Man couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration. He knew he could pull off similar moves, but watching someone else execute them so flawlessly was a different experience.
“I think you’re still a little ahead of me,” Gwen Stacy said with a smile. She clearly remembered the acrobatics Spider-Man had displayed when fighting Connors at school and against Max Dillon in the power grid.
It was incredible. Even though she trained regularly with his Spider-Man, she was always a step behind. No matter how much she increased her concentration, he seemed to anticipate attacks before they happened.
Her strikes would often miss, and since his spidermand didn’t want to hit her too hard, their sparring matches usually consisted of him dodging most of her attacks. The rare hits she landed weren’t enough to shift the tide in her favor.
Most of their fights ended in a draw, but deep down, Gwen knew that more often than not, she was the one at a disadvantage.
Meanwhile, Princess Shuri was watching the battle unfold, eyes locked on T’Challa’s suit. She had just been considering some new ideas, and seeing her brother already wearing such advanced armor in the future confirmed something important—her research would be successful.
Her determination solidified. She wouldn’t follow Tony Stark’s path in designing battle suits, but there were elements she could learn from—like flight capabilities. That function was definitely worth considering.
[Scott Lang found himself face-to-face with Natasha Romanoff, who stood in his path, her arms crossed. He sighed helplessly. “Look, I really don’t want to fight you.”]
[“Yeah? I wouldn’t worry about that.”]
[Before Scott could react, Natasha landed a brutal kick straight to his groin. He doubled over instantly, clutching his most vulnerable area, gasping in agony.]
[Natasha attempted to flip him over with a shoulder throw, but Scott recovered quickly, pressing the button on his suit to shrink mid-air. Using her own strength against her, he flipped her instead.]
[Having never fought an opponent with such an ability, Natasha hit the ground hard. Before she could react, Scott scurried across her back and grabbed her wrist.]
[But Natasha wasn’t someone to be easily subdued. Clenching her teeth, she activated her Widow’s Bite, sending a jolt of electricity through him.]
[Scott yelped as the shock sent him flying, crashing into a nearby machine and leaving a small dent in the wall.]
“Oh? Looks like this Scott Lang isn’t that easy to handle,” Natasha observed with mild amusement as she watched herself get taken down for a moment.
“Yeah, seems like it. He can shrink at will? What an incredible ability.” Coulson chuckled. It wasn’t often that Natasha was caught off guard.
“I just hope he doesn’t have that ability right now,” Natasha muttered, remembering that this guy was currently a wanted man in her time. A headache for the future.
Fortunately, the police had already surrounded Scott’s home, keeping him under watch.
[Elsewhere, outside the terminal, a small spider-shaped figure clung to the glass walls, rapidly scaling its surface.]
[Bucky, running alongside Sam, spotted the movement and frowned. “What is that?”]
[Sam groaned. “Man, everyone has some kind of trick these days.”]
[The little spider suddenly jumped, launching a web to shatter the glass while using his momentum to propel forward. The moment Sam realized what was happening, Spider-Man swung in and delivered a powerful kick—sending Sam flying.]
[Without missing a beat, Spider-Man turned and threw a punch at the Winter Soldier. Bucky, seeing his partner get knocked away, immediately retaliated with a full-force swing of his mechanical arm.]
[But Spider-Man casually caught the punch.]
[Bucky’s eyes widened in shock. His mouth opened slightly in disbelief. His cybernetic arm was powerful enough to tear through metal—yet this kid had stopped it with one hand?!]
[Spider-Man looked at the arm with excitement. “Dude! You have a metal arm?! That’s awesome, bro!”]
[Before he could keep talking, Sam suddenly swooped down and tackled him in mid-air. Spider-Man instinctively latched onto Sam with his webbing, causing them both to ascend.]
[“You have the right to remain silent!” Spider-Man quipped.]
[Sam, unimpressed, flipped in midair and kicked him away. But before he could get far, Spider-Man shot out another web and swung back into pursuit.]
“Bucky, what happened to you?” Steve Rogers muttered under his breath, staring at Bucky’s left arm.
“Don’t worry, Cap,” Clint reassured him. “At least he’s alive and well in this future. We’ll find him.”
Steve nodded, gratitude evident in his expression. “Thanks, Clint.”
“Anytime.” Clint shrugged with a smirk.
[Meanwhile, Tony hovered above the battlefield, locking onto Barton and Wanda below. His shoulder-mounted launchers activated, firing multiple missiles at them.]
[He didn’t want to cause serious harm, so he deliberately aimed the blasts around them. Unfortunately, a nearby plane and truck weren’t as lucky—both were obliterated in the crossfire.]
[Barton and Wanda sprinted through the chaos, dodging the explosions. Barton, shielding Wanda instinctively, moved protectively in front of her. To an outsider, it might have looked like there was something between them.]
[Back on the ground, T’Challa and Steve Rogers remained locked in their clash. The vibranium claws of Black Panther’s suit left deep scratches across Steve’s shield.]
[T’Challa unleashed a rapid flurry of attacks, swiping at Steve’s head with precision. Steve dodged each strike, barely managing to block the final two blows with his shield.]
[Facing Black Panther’s relentless assault, Steve Rogers remained on the defensive. He couldn’t overpower him—not with that suit. Any direct hit would only charge its kinetic energy storage, making T’Challa even more dangerous.]
[The only option was to stall him—to keep him occupied long enough to prevent him from reaching Bucky.]
Chapter 239: Airport Battle Part 2
[Rhodey pulled out his baton, gripping it firmly as he faced Steve Rogers. “Sorry, Cap! It’s non-lethal, but it’s still gonna hurt!”]
[Before he could make a move, Black Panther suddenly kicked Steve Rogers, forcing him back. Seizing the opportunity, Rhodey flew up and came crashing down on Steve, who quickly raised his vibranium shield to block the attack.]
[The impact between the baton and the shield sent a shockwave rippling through the air…]
[Meanwhile, Tony flew in front of Wanda and Barton, blocking their path.]
[“Wanda, I think you broke Vision’s heart.”]
[Wanda scowled, glaring at Tony. “You locked me in that room!”]
[Hearing this, Tony immediately tensed and shot back, “Okay! First off—that’s a huge exaggeration! Second—I was protecting you!”]
[Then he turned to Barton. “Hey, Clint!”]
[Barton, holding his bow with ease, gave a calm nod. “Hey, man.”]
[“So, retirement wasn’t for you? Got bored of golf?” Tony quipped.]
[Barton shrugged. “Well, I played 18 holes, and every shot was a hole-in-one. Kind of takes the fun out of it.”]
[Before Tony could reply, Barton suddenly loosed an arrow. His suit’s AI reacted instantly, making him dodge as two repulsor blasts shot from his palms, destroying the projectile in mid-air.]
[Tony wasn’t about to take chances. Knowing Barton’s arrows had unpredictable modifications, he wasn’t going to risk finding out what this one could do.]
[“Huh. Guess there really is a first time for everything,” Tony teased.]
[Barton simply cracked his neck. “Take another look.”]
[The next second, a car slammed into Tony’s side, sending him staggering. Before he could recover, Wanda used her powers to hurl several more vehicles at him.]
[Tony immediately started blasting them apart with repulsor shots while dodging, but there were too many. One of them struck him directly.]
[Tony crashed to the ground, groaning. A car landed right on his left arm, pinning him down. Another fell directly onto his helmet, momentarily dazing him.]
[“Multiple contusions detected,” FRIDAY’s voice announced, pulling up diagnostics of Tony’s left arm.]
[Tony groaned. “Yeah, no kidding—I felt that.”]
["Oh! Sorry, Tony!" Barton’s voice rang out over the comms.]
[Tony twisted his neck while hovering back into the air. “It’s fine! You’re still as accurate as ever! Just, uh—maybe don’t aim that bow at me next time?”]
["Alright, alright. I'll buy you a drink when this is over."]
["Perfect."]
Steve Rogers kept his head low, still deep in thought about Bucky. The fact that his old friend was alive was overwhelming.
Meanwhile, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff nervously watched the broadcast. Neither of them understood why the Wanda on the screen didn’t seem to harbor as much hatred toward Tony Stark as they did.
For so long, they had despised him. But here, Tony seemed to be genuinely trying to protect Wanda, while she saw it as imprisonment.
Given everything they had seen from Iron Man 1 and 2, they now had a more complete understanding of who Tony Stark was. And perhaps, just maybe, he wasn’t entirely the monster they had believed.
[Meanwhile, Spider-Man was still engaged in battle with Sam and the Winter Soldier, shooting webs in pursuit of Sam through the terminal hall. Sam retaliated with gunfire, but Spider-Man easily dodged every shot.]
[Just as he landed on a metal pole, his Spider-Sense flared. “Oh! God!”]
[His instincts screamed at him. Without a second thought, he ducked just in time to avoid a piece of debris thrown by the Winter Soldier.]
[Bucky quickly took cover behind a pillar after throwing it. Spider-Man pointed accusingly. “Hey! Buddy! You threw this!”]
[With an effortless swing, he hurled the debris back, smashing it into the pillar Bucky was using for cover, narrowly missing him.]
[As Spider-Man turned to look in Bucky’s direction, Sam used the opening to launch a surprise kick from behind. But before the hit could land, Spider-Man shot a web, yanked himself free, and flipped mid-air.]
[In one smooth motion, he fired another web, latching onto Sam’s jetpack. Sam instantly lost control and spiraled downward, barely managing to shield his head as he crashed into a newsstand.]
[The stall collapsed under him, scattering newspapers and magazines everywhere. Before he could recover, Spider-Man webbed his hands to a nearby railing.]
[Hanging upside down from a pillar, Spider-Man observed Sam’s wings and mused, “Are these made of carbon fiber?”]
[“Did you just web me?” Sam asked, unamused.]
[Spider-Man ignored the question, still marveling at the tech. “If they are, that would totally explain the flexibility and weight distribution! That’s so cool!”]
[Sam narrowed his eyes. “I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a real fight before, kid—but we don’t talk this much during battle.”]
[Spider-Man immediately looked apologetic. “Right! Sorry! My bad!”]
[Without wasting another second, he shot a web toward Sam again. This time, Bucky rushed forward to block it.]
[But Spider-Man’s strength caught him off guard. The impact knocked both Bucky and Sam off their feet, sending them crashing to the floor.]
[Before either could react, multiple strands of webbing wrapped around them, pinning Sam’s arms and restraining Bucky’s metal arm.]
[“Look, guys,” Spider-Man said, adjusting his web-shooters. “I’d love to keep fighting, but I’ve only got one mission today—and I really wanna impress Mr. Stark! So, sorry!”]
[Just as he was about to finish webbing them up, Sam’s drone suddenly swooped in and grabbed Spider-Man’s arm.]
[“Wait—what?!”]
[In the next instant, the drone yanked him into the air. Spider-Man’s body slammed into the railing, making him yelp before tumbling downward in a chaotic spiral.]
[As he crashed to the ground, Bucky groaned from his position on the floor. “Couldn’t you have done that earlier?”]
[Sam exhaled heavily, staring at the ceiling. “I hate you.”]
"Oh my God, this is hilarious!" Gwen (second-gen) covered her mouth as she laughed. “He talks even more than you do!”
2nd Gen Spiderman pursed his lips, watching the broadcast in silence. The young Spider-Man had impressive skills—he had won a two-versus-one fight with relative ease.
But his chatterbox nature had cost him.
While he was also known for talking during fights, he at least kept moving. He never gave his opponents free openings the way the younger Spider-Man did. If he had just acted faster, there was no way Sam would’ve turned the tables.
1st gen Spider-Man chuckled softly, watching as the young Spidey was dragged away. He didn’t even know what to say.
Meanwhile, little Peter Parker sat with his mouth hanging open. He had just defeated two superheroes in battle.
For a kid his age, this was beyond awesome.
Aunt May, unable to contain her excitement, pulled him into a hug and kissed his forehead. “Oh, Peter! I’m so proud of you!”
In that moment, she wasn’t just May Parker—she was the proud aunt of a superhero.
Chapter 240: Airport Battle Part 3
[On the other side, Rhodey was flying toward Steve Rogers, wielding a steel baton. Seeing this, Steve Rogers reacted instantly, executing a precise hook kick that sent Rhodey crashing to the ground.]
[The impact was brutal. The baton in Rhodey’s hand snapped in half as he landed.]
[Meanwhile, Black Panther continued his relentless assault, swiping his vibranium claws at Steve. But Steve Rogers leaned back, narrowly avoiding the attack, then countered with a powerful straight kick that sent T’Challa stumbling back.]
[Rhodey got back to his feet, glancing at the broken baton in his hand before tossing it aside. “Alright. Is that enough?”]
[Just as Steve Rogers was preparing for another clash, Scott Lang sprinted toward him, yelling, “Captain! Keep going!” and tossed something in his direction.]
[Steve instinctively caught it—a tiny toy oil tanker.]
[Scott held up a magnifying plate and quickly instructed, “Throw it at this!”]
[“Throw it!” Scott repeated, tossing the magnifying plate forward. Steve Rogers didn’t fully understand, but his instincts kicked in—he hurled the tiny tanker as instructed.]
[Natasha, sensing something was off, immediately ran for cover.]
[The moment the toy tanker made contact with the magnifying plate, it expanded back to its full size in an instant.]
[“Oh! No way!” Rhodey’s eyes widened in horror as the massive tanker truck came hurtling toward him. T’Challa barely had time to react before leaping away.]
[The tanker slammed into the ground with an earth-shaking explosion. The shockwave sent Rhodey flying, knocking him out of the air. Natasha barely managed to dive behind a car in time, while Black Panther was sent tumbling backward from the blast.]
[Scott’s eyes went wide as he realized the extent of the destruction. “Oh, man! I thought it was a water truck!”]
[He turned to Steve Rogers with an awkward smile. “Uh… sorry.”]
[Steve exhaled, glancing at Scott with an expression of mild exasperation. He had no words—but Scott was here to help, after all.]
[Without wasting another second, the two of them took off running.]
“What the hell was that?!” Rhodey nearly choked as he watched himself get buried under the explosion from inside his fighter jet.
“J.A.R.V.I.S., do we have anything in the database that matches this tech?” Tony asked, frowning. He had already been curious before, but now, he needed answers.
“The Pym Particles developed by Dr. Hank Pym exhibit similar capabilities,” J.A.R.V.I.S. reported. “Records indicate that Dr. Pym and his wife, Janet van Dyne, operated as Ant-Man and The Wasp.”
“After a mission led to Janet’s disappearance, Dr. Pym withdrew from S.H.I.E.L.D. and founded Pym Technologies,” the AI continued.
Tony’s eyes narrowed. “Wait—he was with S.H.I.E.L.D.?”
He hadn’t expected Hank Pym to have that kind of history. Now, he definitely wanted to meet him—if he ever got the chance.
Of course, Tony was completely unaware of the long-standing feud between Hank Pym and his own father, Howard Stark. If he had known, he might not have been so eager.
“What was that?” Dr. Otto Octavius muttered, fascinated by the technology being displayed.
He was particularly intrigued by Scott Lang’s abilities—clearly a technological marvel rather than a natural superpower.
If possible, he had to study it. As a top scientist, Otto’s curiosity for the unknown was insatiable.
“This is getting out of control.” George Stacy’s brows furrowed as he analyzed the battlefield.
Up until now, both sides had been holding back. Tony’s missiles were placed strategically to cause minimal harm. Rhodey hadn’t deployed any heavy weaponry. Everyone had been using calculated force—enough to subdue, but not kill.
But this?
Scott had just escalated the fight to a deadly level. The sheer force of that explosion could have easily resulted in casualties.
If Tony hadn’t been angry before, he would be now. And once that happened, the situation would spiral into something much harder to contain.
[Rhodey pushed himself to his feet, shaking off the dust. His expression was one of pure frustration. “Alright… now I’m pissed.”]
[Hearing the commotion, Tony flew over, spotting Natasha dusting herself off. He reached down and pulled her to her feet. She was still stunned by the force of the explosion.]
[“Was that part of their plan?” she asked incredulously.]
[Tony, still reeling from what had just happened, exhaled sharply. “I was trying to be nice to them. Should I increase firepower?”]
[Meanwhile, Barton and Wanda had reached the north runway. From a distance, they spotted the Quinjet waiting inside the hangar. Barton’s eyes lit up. “That’s our ride!”]
[Steve Rogers and Sam regrouped with them. Steve signaled forward. “Move!”]
[They all sprinted toward the hangar—only for a sudden beam of energy to blast down in front of them, halting their escape.]
[Steve and the others looked up. Floating above them was Vision, his expression impassive.]
[“Captain Rogers,” Vision said. “I understand that you believe you are in the right… but for the sake of the greater good, I must ask you to surrender.”]
[As he spoke, Tony and Natasha landed beside him. Black Panther stood at their side, steadying himself after recovering from the blast. Behind them, Spider-Man swung into position, forming a line of defense that blocked Steve’s path.]
[The screen’s narration resumed: “Confused about the airport battle? Wondering who’s who? Curious about the stakes? No problem! Let’s break down the lineups!”]
[“First, we have Team Iron Man: The King of Wakanda—Black Panther, T’Challa! The Black Widow—Natasha Romanoff! The synthetic super-intelligence—Vision! The third-generation Spider-Man—Peter Parker! And the War Machine—James Rhodes!”]
[“Next, Team Captain America: The leader himself—Captain Steve Rogers! The high-flying Falcon—Sam Wilson! The incredible shrinking Ant-Man—Scott Lang! The sharpshooter Hawkeye—Clint Barton! And the once-feared Winter Soldier—Bucky Barnes!”]
[“And finally, the one who will become the strongest Avenger in the later years—Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff!”]
“The strongest?” Nick Fury narrowed his eye. That statement caught his attention.
Did the Sky Screen mean that Wanda was stronger than Captain Marvel?
Nick knew exactly how powerful Carol was. She had single-handedly scared Ronan off and kept him away from Earth for years.
Even Carol herself frowned at the claim. She wasn’t one to back down from a challenge. If Wanda really was as strong as the screen claimed, she wanted to test it for herself.
Thor, listening nearby, also became intrigued.
For the longest time, he had believed himself to be the strongest Avenger—until he met Carol.
Now, the two of them often sparred for fun. More often than not, he lost. But he was never discouraged. If anything, it made him train harder.
Still, unlike Carol, he wasn’t in a rush to challenge Wanda. He was self-aware enough to know that if he couldn’t defeat Captain Marvel, he wasn’t ready to fight someone even stronger.
“Tony, you might want to be careful with this Wanda,” Rhodey warned, watching the broadcast.
“Yeah,” Tony replied absentmindedly. He wasn’t quite sure what to make of this information.
Wanda, meanwhile, was stunned by the evaluation. She and Pietro exchanged uncertain glances.
The screen had labeled her as the strongest. But if that were true, then why wasn’t she using her full power now?
And more importantly—if she could tear through Tony’s armor with ease… why hadn’t she?
Looking at the battle from this perspective, it was becoming clear—both sides were holding back.
