Marvel : I am Thor Chapter 301 - 305

Chapter 301: Alter Reality!

Boom!

The explosion from the five restored Infinity Stones reverberated across the battlefield, their immense power released in an instant.

But the light of the Time Stone dimmed almost immediately, its energy completely overdrawn. It would not recover anytime soon.

Still, the damage was already done.

This Thanos was not the contemplative titan of old, the one who sought balance by erasing half of all life. No, this Thanos was a true butcher, a being driven by the singular goal of total annihilation. His purpose was to obliterate all life, leaving behind a silent, desolate universe.

As the sound of his snapping fingers faded, silence fell across the battlefield.

A mysterious force swept over everyone, enveloping them in its suffocating grip. Many felt their bodies begin to dissolve, the faint sensation of disintegration creeping through their veins.

Panic set in. Even the most steadfast warriors were paralyzed with despair. No one seemed to know how to stop this inevitable end.

No one except Wanda.

Wanda Maximoff closed her eyes, retreating into the depths of her mind. Memories surfaced, and she could almost hear Thor’s voice echoing in her ears:

"Your power is one of the oldest and most powerful forces in the universe. It’s not just about throwing red energy balls."

"The Chaos Force you possess can alter reality itself. Your potential goes far beyond mine. When your power is fully unleashed, every word you speak will come true. If you say the Earth is the center of the universe, the cosmos will bend to your will."

"It’s not just the ability to alter reality. It’s the power to play God."

"I trust you, Wanda."

Those words ignited a spark within her.

The chaos swirling in her body surged once more, emboldened by her resolve. Wanda’s heart raced as she reached deep into herself, drawing on the limitless potential of her Chaos Force.

“Everyone, don’t disappear!”

Her voice rang out like a command. The red energy surrounding her boiled over, erupting in waves of raw, unbridled power.

But suddenly, dizziness hit her like a brick wall. Wanda stumbled, her vision blurring. The strain of manipulating reality itself was overwhelming—far greater than even she had anticipated.

Did I fail?

“Wanda,” Strange’s voice cut through her despair, steady despite his own body beginning to dissolve. “With your current ability, you can’t change something as vast as the causal chain of the entire universe.”

His feet had already started to fade, the dissolution creeping higher.

“You need to work within the framework of Thanos’ snap,” he continued. “Reverse its effects without contradicting his intent too much.”

“Reverse the effects without compromising his purpose?” Wanda muttered, confusion evident in her voice.

It sounded impossible.

Thanos’ purpose was the destruction of life. How could she undo the snap without defying that fundamental goal?

But then, clarity struck.

Thanos’ true ambition wasn’t destruction for its own sake. It was dominance, an assertion of power. He sought to annihilate life with his own hands, using the stones only as a tool of last resort.

There was a distinction—subtle but critical.

The battlefield stilled as the snapping fingers reached their crescendo. The universe teetered on the brink of silence, a moment away from total erasure.

Then, a cold, calm voice echoed through the minds of every being in existence:

“At this moment, there are no superpowers in the world.”

A miracle unfolded.

Those on the verge of disintegration began to reform, their bodies slowly returning to normal. The ash that had started to scatter rewound itself, reconstituting into flesh and bone.

The Avengers and their allies stared in awe as the effects of the snap disappeared before their eyes.

Peter Parker, who had already felt half his body fading away, gasped as he looked at his restored hands. He tried to fire a web at the sky in celebration, but nothing happened.

Nearby, Bruce Banner called out desperately, “Hulk? Hulk?”

But there was no answer.

The Valkyries, once soaring gracefully through the skies on their winged mounts, wobbled in the air before descending safely to the ground. Even their Pegasus mounts seemed subdued, their supernatural strength stripped away.

Captain Marvel, glowing with radiant energy, faltered and plummeted toward the earth. Jane Foster, still clutching Mjolnir, also fell, her hammer now an ordinary piece of metal.

Wanda’s body collapsed from the strain, her Chaos Force completely spent. Whether she remained the Scarlet Witch was unclear. She had poured every ounce of herself into altering the universe’s fate.

Tony Stark stood frozen, his eyes wide with shock. This was the very scene he had witnessed in his nightmare visions—the universe tipping on the edge of salvation and destruction.

Thanos stood in stunned silence, his mind racing.

He hadn’t anticipated this. Wanda Maximoff had turned the entire cosmos against his will, unraveling the effects of his snap.

But then he smirked.

She hadn’t changed everything.

His army remained intact, their forms unaffected by the Chaos Force. The snap had excluded them from its scope—they were not of this universe.

A world without superpowers? He could work with that.

Thanos laughed, his voice ringing out with a chilling finality. “In a universe of mortals, what remains to stop me?”

He raised his head, his laughter echoing across the battlefield as he marched forward.

Chapter 302: Tony's Last Card

Asgard’s skies burned bright, the remnants of Surtur's flames crackling with renewed fury. Moments ago, Surtur had been a seemingly invincible force. Now, he was battered and broken.

“No... I will return...”

Boom!

The flames roared, the heavens seemed to pale, and Surtur’s colossal body cracked apart, collapsing into a crown of fire.

“Is it over?” Loki asked, his voice trembling in disbelief.

The initiator of Ragnarök, who had been unstoppable just moments before, lay in ruins. Could it really be this simple?

Thor shook his head grimly. “No, it’s not that easy. Surtur’s power comes from the Eternal Fire. As long as the Eternal Fire burns, he can be reborn endlessly.”

As if to confirm Thor’s words, the crown of fire began to shimmer, and flames reignited above it. Slowly, a massive silhouette emerged, standing taller and stronger than before.

“…” Loki’s jaw tightened. How are we supposed to deal with this?

Frigga sighed softly. “Your father faced the same dilemma. In the end, he could only take the Eternal Fire away, but even that didn’t stop Surtur’s eventual return.”

Thor’s voice cut through the tension. “He has a weakness.”

Loki turned to him, startled. “Weakness? Absolute immortality doesn’t exist?”

Thor nodded. “Even so-called immortality has limits. Each resurrection consumes the energy of the Eternal Fire. If its rate of depletion surpasses its recovery, Surtur can be destroyed completely.”

Loki gaped at him. “Right. Sure. Just destroy him dozens of times while surviving long enough to wear out a literal fire god. No problem!”

A deafening roar shook the battlefield as Surtur rose again.

Thor wasted no time. The Phoenix Stormbreaker blazed in his grip as he charged, striking Surtur with a mighty blow.

Crack.

Surtur’s towering form split in two, cleaved cleanly from head to toe.

Once more, the fire crown fell to the ground, and the flames began to flicker weakly.

Suddenly, a cold, emotionless voice echoed across the cosmos:

“At this moment, there are no superpowers in the world.”

Thor and Loki froze. Across Asgard, the once-mighty warriors of its citizenry faltered, their supernatural strength evaporating. Even the most ordinary civilians, whose enhanced physiques were their natural birthright, felt their power vanish.

The sorcerers of Asgard clutched at empty air, their magic extinguished.

Loki’s face contorted with panic. “Wanda? Why would she do this? What happened?”

Thor remained calm, his gaze fixed on the flickering crown of fire. He trusted Wanda, believing she must have made this choice for an important reason.

Among everyone present, only two beings remained unaffected: Surtur and Thor.

Surtur’s immunity stemmed from his alliance with Thanos, making him exempt from the curse. Thor, however, had transcended the scope of the Infinity Stones’ power, standing beyond their reach.

“Brother! My magic! It’s gone!” Loki wailed, panic overtaking him.

Thor didn’t even look at him. “That’s fine. It’s not like you were useful before.”

Loki glared daggers at him. “...”

But as much as Loki wanted to argue, he knew Thor was right. Even so, the implications of this curse troubled him deeply. “Brother, are you not worried at all? Everyone in Asgard is mortal now. And the same thing is probably happening on Earth. Doesn’t that concern you?”

Thor paused, his gaze hardening as he watched Surtur begin to reform yet again. “As an Avenger,” he said quietly, “the most important thing is to trust your teammates.”

Loki rolled his eyes. Teammates? Those are your teammates, not mine. Every time they see me, they try to beat me up. Trust them? Sure.

On Earth, the battlefield was holding strong despite the curse.

Thanos’ forces had suffered heavy losses, and many of the Avengers were still operational. Though superpowers were gone, much of the resistance relied on technology and training rather than innate abilities.

The Ravagers and Nova Corps continued their aerial assault, while Wakandan ground forces held the line with their advanced weaponry.

Even Spider-Man, stripped of his superhuman strength, fought valiantly using his Iron Spider suit. Black Panther relied on his vibranium armor and gadgets to continue battling.

The absence of top-level superpowers was felt, but humanity’s resilience endured.

Amidst the chaos, Tony Stark stood quietly, his expression contemplative. He took a deep breath and issued a command:

“Friday, activate Mark 86.”

Chapter 303: Battle of the Gods

“Sir, the Mark 86 hasn’t passed testing. It’s not ready for battle,” Friday reminded.

“No one’s ever ready when they start,” Tony replied, his tone unwavering. “Activate it.”

Unlike the sleek, nanotech armors of recent years, the Mark 86 was something else entirely—a prototype still locked away in his lab.

Boom!

In the distance, several beams of light pierced the roof of the Stark Tower and streaked toward the battlefield.

Obsedian Cull, Thanos’ towering enforcer, charged forward. Even with his limited intelligence, he recognized Tony Stark as the linchpin of the Avengers’ resistance.

“Boom!”

The glowing streams converged on Tony, enveloping him. In an instant, the Mark 86 deployed around him, a sleek, imposing armor that pulsed with otherworldly energy.

Without hesitation, Tony launched a blast at Obsedian Cull.

The giant raised his enormous battle axe to block, but the attack tore through the weapon, shattering it.

Boom!

The explosion sent Obsedian Cull flying, his massive frame scorched and smoldering. Though his vitality kept him alive, he was incapacitated, groaning in pain.

“Whoa... that’s insane!” someone gasped, their eyes fixed on the new armor.

Unlike Tony’s traditional red-and-gold armors, the Mark 86 was predominantly black, accented with glowing dark-blue streaks. Its surface lacked the metallic sheen of Earth’s materials, instead radiating a texture that seemed otherworldly.

“Is that... the body of a celestial?”

Thanos observed the scene from afar, his expression betraying rare curiosity. “Interesting. You truly are cursed by knowledge, Stark. This armor... it’s far beyond the Iron Man I once faced. Your mind grows more intriguing with every encounter.”

“You can try me,” Tony shot back, his voice cold from within the armor.

He raised his wrist, and two beams of concentrated energy erupted toward Thanos.

Thanos smirked. “Come on, then.”

Boom!

The blast struck Thanos squarely, sending him flying into the ground.

Tony seized the moment, leaping high into the air and delivering a powerful punch straight to Thanos’ head. The impact sent shockwaves across the battlefield.

“This... this is insane,” someone muttered, watching Tony dominate.

Bruce Banner, standing safely behind the front lines, nodded grimly as he began to explain.

“Five years ago, Tony brought me a massive corpse. He said he wanted to create the strongest armor—something that could truly protect Earth. But he needed my help. The materials on Earth weren’t enough. Even vibranium wasn’t indestructible against Thanos.”

Bruce paused as the memory surfaced. “That’s when he showed me the body of a Celestial. He’d recovered it from Kree territory, and it was unlike anything I’d ever seen.”

Carol Danvers, hovering nearby, nodded in recognition. “The Kree stored the corpse of a Celestial for years. Ronan the Accuser even bathed in its blood, trying to harness its power. But to use the body of a god as material for armor? That’s... beyond bold.”

Bruce continued, “Tony called this armor the ‘Anti-Thanos Armor.’ It’s technically Mark 86, but its strength far surpasses anything else he’s ever built. Every movement carries enough force to destroy entire landscapes.”

On the battlefield, Tony’s dominance continued.

A punch to Thanos’ face was met with a counter-grab, but Tony responded by unleashing a point-blank cannon blast. The explosion sent Thanos tumbling backward, only for Tony to grab him mid-air and slam him into a boulder.

Boom!

The ground shattered beneath the impact, and for a moment, it seemed like Tony had the upper hand.

“Can he win?” someone asked nervously.

Bruce sighed. “If this were the Thanos we fought five years ago, Tony might have stood a chance. But this Thanos... he’s far stronger than anything we’ve ever faced. Even Hulk, at his strongest, couldn’t last against him.”

He glanced at the ongoing battle, his voice tinged with frustration. “The armor’s advantage is its design—it was built specifically to counter Thanos. But that advantage won’t last forever.”

Meanwhile, in Asgard, the cycle of death and resurrection continued.

Thor and Surtur were locked in a seemingly endless battle.

Each time Thor destroyed Surtur, the fire giant reformed from the Eternal Fire. But with every resurrection, Surtur’s strength diminished slightly, the energy of the Eternal Fire burning away.

Surtur roared, his deep voice echoing across the land. “Man of Asgard! Your actions are an affront to the cosmos!”

But even as he regenerated, Surtur knew the truth—he was losing. Each revival took longer, and Thor only grew stronger.

Chapter 304: Thor Returns

The earth trembled violently as the power of thunder collided with the fury of flames. Volcanoes erupted in the distance, their molten cores spilling into the sky as if heralding the apocalypse.

At the center of this maelstrom stood Surtur, locked in an endless cycle of destruction and rebirth. Torn apart by Thor’s relentless strikes and reborn through the Eternal Fire, his once-mighty form shrank with every resurrection.

Thor’s approach was different from Odin’s. Where Odin had once captured the Eternal Fire to delay Surtur’s return, Thor aimed to break the cycle entirely—to ensure Surtur would never rise again.

With each rebirth, Surtur’s strength waned, his body diminishing. The once-colossal giant was now a shadow of his former self.

“There’s no such thing as true immortality,” Thor muttered, his grip tightening on the Phoenix Stormbreaker.

Elsewhere, the battle raged on.

Clad in his Celestial Armor, Tony Stark was holding his own against Thanos. The armor, built with materials derived from a Celestial’s remains, made him stronger than ever before—stronger even than the Hulk.

With a devastating punch, Tony sent Thanos sprawling. Before the Titan could recover, a powerful energy ray blasted toward him, forcing him onto the defensive.

Thanos retaliated, delivering a brutal strike to the underside of Tony’s arm. But his attack had no effect.

What Thanos didn’t realize was that for the Celestial Armor, traditional weak points weren’t weaknesses at all. In fact, they were traps designed to lure in unsuspecting opponents.

Boom!

As Thanos’ fist struck the armor, a muffled explosion reverberated. He found his hand stuck, unable to withdraw it.

Tony seized the opportunity, grabbing Thanos with his free hand. Activating his thrusters, he soared into the sky, dragging the Titan with him. Within moments, they had ascended tens of thousands of meters.

“Enjoy the view!” Tony quipped before hurling Thanos into the air.

As a ground-bound fighter with no flight capabilities, Thanos could do nothing but flail helplessly as gravity began to take hold.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Tony unleashed a barrage of laser cannons and missiles, raining destruction upon the falling Titan. Each impact sent shockwaves rippling through the air.

On the ground, Obsedian Cull rose shakily, gripping his massive axe.

“I’ll help—” he began, but Ebony Maw raised a hand to stop him.

“No need. Let him play,” Ebony Maw said calmly. “This strange armor may trouble Thanos, but it can’t defeat him.”

The strategist’s cold confidence remained unshaken. He knew Thanos’ strength better than anyone. Tony’s design was formidable, but it had been built to counter the Thanos of five years ago—not the force of destruction standing before them now.

Boom!

Thanos hit the ground with a thunderous crash, leaving a massive crater in his wake.

The battlefield fell silent.

Then, a thick arm emerged from the pit, gripping the edge. Thanos pulled himself up, his expression dark and brooding. Though he didn’t speak, the fury in his eyes was unmistakable.

The Titan tore off his battered helmet and began marching toward Tony.

A missile streaked toward Thanos, its black smoke trailing like a banner. Without breaking stride, Thanos caught the projectile mid-air and slammed it against his own chest.

Boom!

The explosion scattered flames in every direction, but Thanos remained unfazed, walking through the inferno with grim determination.

Tony shot into the air, his thrusters firing on all cylinders as he prepared a gravity-assisted punch. The Celestial Armor’s boosters activated, propelling him forward with immense force.

“Let’s end this!” Tony yelled, his fist hurtling toward Thanos.

But Thanos was ready.

With a speed that defied his massive frame, the Titan’s right arm shot out, intercepting Tony’s punch.

CRACK!

The sound of metal splintering echoed as cracks spiderwebbed across the armor.

Tony’s eyes widened in disbelief. Before he could react, a massive fist filled his vision.

Boom!

The impact sent Tony flying like a broken kite. He tumbled to the ground, his armor groaning under the strain.

Thanos didn’t relent. His pursuit was swift and merciless, and within seconds, he was upon Tony again. The battlefield erupted with the sounds of explosions and tearing metal as the two clashed.

Tony fought valiantly, his armor’s capabilities stretched to their limits. For a mortal, his resolve was nothing short of godlike.

Finally, Thanos grabbed hold of the armor’s central reactor.

“It’s over,” Thanos growled, his voice as cold as death. “Your efforts are futile.”

CRACK!

The reactor shattered in his hand, the Celestial Armor’s light flickering out.

With the armor rendered powerless, Tony was trapped. Thanos tore off the chest piece, exposing Tony’s face.

The Titan expected despair, but Tony only spat at him, his defiance undimmed.

“Fool,” Tony sneered.

Thanos smirked darkly, gripping Tony’s armor tighter. “For decades, I have conquered, tyrannized, and slaughtered without emotion. But now, I will savor every moment of destroying your stubborn, insignificant planet. This will be fun.”

“Yeah? Is that so?”

A voice rang out from behind.

Thanos froze, his grip tightening reflexively.

“Everything you say might come to pass,” the voice continued, calm yet filled with power. “That is, if I weren’t here to stop you.”

Chapter 305: This Time I Am Aiming At The Head

Thanos turned slowly, his piercing gaze locking onto Thor—the King of Asgard who had become the bane of his existence.

Thor stood tall, the Phoenix Stormbreaker blazing in his hand. In the other, he held Surtur’s flaming crown. With a single motion, he cast the crown to the ground.

Kangdang...

The crown shattered into countless fragments, the fire extinguished forever.

“This time,” Thor said coldly, “you won’t be resurrecting.”

The sky darkened ominously as reinforcements began to arrive. Spaceships of varying designs appeared in the atmosphere, their engines roaring as they joined the fray.

Among them, a figure emerged wearing a two-horned devilish helmet.

“Your savior is here!” Loki shouted dramatically, reveling in the spotlight.

Thor didn’t react, and neither did Thanos. The Mad Titan ignored Loki entirely, his focus unbroken.

Thanos took a deep breath. “Dormammu, Surtur... they’re both gone, aren’t they?”

“What do you think?” Thor sneered. “I underestimated you, Thanos. The so-called Planet Destroyer, reduced to scheming and pulling strings from the shadows.”

Thanos’ lips curled into an unreadable smile. “And I underestimated you. No... I underestimated this world. I treated you as though you were Odin. That was my mistake.”

Thor’s grip tightened on his axe. “Then there’s nothing left to say.”

Thanos’ expression darkened. “Perhaps I haven’t lost yet. But if you want my head, Thor, it will cost you dearly.”

With a sharp motion, he raised his hand. “All forces—at any cost—cause the greatest destruction possible!”

The Dark Legion surged forward like a wave, their frenzied charge wreaking havoc on all who stood in their path.

Without the leadership of superpowered individuals, the Avengers Alliance found themselves overwhelmed. Casualties mounted as the relentless tide of Thanos’ forces bore down on them.

It was clear that Thanos, seeing his defeat imminent, intended to go out in a blaze of destruction, ensuring his enemies suffered even in victory.

But Thor intervened.

“You have no chance,” Thor declared, his voice resonating across the battlefield.

He raised the Phoenix Stormbreaker high, the combined Odinforce and the Phoenix Force radiating from his form. Flames and thunder erupted, sweeping through the battlefield like a divine storm.

Boom! Boom!

Explosions lit the sky as Chitauri soldiers were reduced to ashes. Their bodies disintegrated like firecrackers, scattering into the wind.

In the air, the Chitauri Force and Leviathan beasts were caught in the storm of lightning and flames. Screams were cut short as they were incinerated, their massive forms falling lifeless to the ground.

The devastation lasted less than a minute. When the storm cleared, the battlefield was eerily silent.

The once-mighty Dark Legion was gone. Not a single soldier remained.

Only Thanos and the stunned members of the Black Order stood amidst the carnage, their faces pale with shock.

Thanos hadn’t moved. He hadn’t been given the chance to.

Thor had obliterated the armies without stepping forward, his sheer energy alone achieving what seemed impossible.

“Now it’s your turn,” Thor said, his voice cold and final.

The Phoenix Force surged into the Tomahawk, condensing into a radiant beam of energy. With a mighty swing, Thor released the energy, a colossal wave of power cleaving through the sky.

The beam raced toward Thanos with unstoppable force.

“No!” Thanos thought, his heart pounding as he prepared to dodge.

But no matter how he moved, the beam seemed to adjust its trajectory, homing in on him with deadly precision.

At the last moment, the Black Order stepped in. Ebony Maw grabbed Obsedian Cull, using him as a shield against the incoming strike.

Boom!

The impact was cataclysmic.

With one swing, Thor obliterated the remnants of the Black Order, their once-feared presence reduced to nothingness.

The battlefield was silent once more. The sheer magnitude of Thor’s power left even the Avengers in stunned awe.

Thor stood as the undisputed strongest in the universe, his might surpassing even Odin.

Thanos’ face was grim. He could feel it—there was no hope of victory. The battle had shifted entirely in Thor’s favor, and there was no path to reclaiming dominance.

But surrender was not an option.

He was Thanos—the Mad Titan, the Destroyer of Worlds. He would fight to the end, no matter the odds.

“If you want to kill me, come and try!” Thanos roared, his laughter ringing out as he charged at Thor, his fists raised high.

Thor met him head-on, his battle axe raised. The two clashed in a violent flurry of power, but Thor’s voice rang out as their weapons crossed:

“The reason I lost in another world...”

Thanos froze, his mind racing.

“...must be because I didn’t aim for the head.”

Before Thanos could react, pain shot through his neck.

In his fading consciousness, he heard Thor’s final words:

“This time, I aimed for it.”

Boom.

Thanos’ headless body collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
