Author rambling after Sunbreak
Added 2025-09-16 21:51:25 +0000 UTCNothing too serious, just me here to babble about a few things.
All right, so Book One finally ended with a little over 240K words. Surprisingly, that was the number I aimed for before sitting down to write the story, only I cut out a wholeass provincial tournament, some family drama, and an apprenticeship. (Yeah, all this is going to be part of Book Two, which I hope will be smoother sailing than Book One. Well, it will likely be, since I have a foundation to work on.)
Many changes came to Book One from my original outline as I got to write them; some of them were more welcome ones, though a couple of sections I left out would have made it far stronger as a book. (I won't discuss them, as that would essentially be spoiling it.) Either way, I'm mostly satisfied with the work. Now it's time to put it together as a volume. So editing, revising, and even rewriting whole chapters from scratch to make the pacing suck less donkey balls. The hundred chapters mostly read like a serial with little structuring. It'll be some work before it can be posted as an ebook.
I've already made a list of changes I want to make, and so on and so forth. I'll make a post for those who don't want to reread from the beginning once I'm done. Expect it before the end of the year.
Now onwards to Book Two:
Yeah, I'll keep posting as I edit Book One. I'm looking forward to making the outline, probably going to take a couple of days. I already have the broad strokes in my mind, just need to decide on the details and some large directions I want the story to go.
I'll also be writing a prologue for it. I know how much you guys love prologues.
Finally, I want to thank every one of you for sticking with Mythshaper, even after a long month of hiatus .
Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix the chaotic mess of my schedule, but still, you can expect four updates per week. They may come late, but I'll hold myself responsible for them.
Thank you.
Comment any question you may have about the story, or the geopolitical atmosphere of the world, I don't know, I'd love to hear from you. Also, what do you think of the book title: Sunbreak?

2025-09-17 02:52:29 +0000 UTCAny chance we can get a rough map? If not of the world maybe just the local village or province. And are there other fantasy races in the world or is it just humans?
