Sexy Steampunk Babes: Chapter Sixty Five

Comments

Calling the hero of the day a dunce...interesting tactic, let's see how that plays out.

Ignis Dagon

its back! great update.

Marius Petrauskas

“You have my thanks,” Yelena intoned with all the solemn dignity the elven woman could as she stood across from the good two dozen peasants – and the good few thousand nobles, knights, guards and city peasantry that could fit onto the academy grounds beyond them. “Truly. Deeply. From the bottom of my heart.” She took a moment to gaze out, seeking out each of the stunned womens’ gazes from her position up on the stage. “You brave souls, despite not being of noble birth, proved your valor in the skies above our fair capital. And though you did not act alone, it cannot be argued that it was your efforts in the most critical hour that carried that day. And in doing so, you have proven once and for all that courage knows no station or blood." That was a pretty good speech, but it occurred to me she could have talked to William and he could have pointed her to one of the greats. This line would fit perfectly. Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.

I am 5 Days late

Perhaps black and silver? Oil and steel?

I have a curious question. If Blackstone and New Haven are red and blue, what is Redwater going to be? Can't have red for blood, or blue for water...hmmm. perhaps our intrepid author will inform us.

Fixed, thanks :D

I really wanted to see Yelena's reaction to seeing William's world too. I am hoping we get a flashback sometime in the future where Yelena reflects on the glimpse she got and that is why she is doing something.

One more small quibble is the opposing casualty count. William is reflecting that the capital rebuffed the attack, taking down eight of the attacking airships. However they only actually took out seven. The Lunites started out with ten airships, one crewed by free orcs and the other nine by the Lunites. After defeating the capital airships (three in the air and the rest falling with their sky port moorings), they split into two groups of five. William's Corsair took out two over the academy with rockets. Before he could get the others, Yotul boarded the other two and captured them. Having no more airship targets, William went back to the capital and destroyed the five airships there. Thus, out of the ten attackers, the Jellyfish got seven and three fled.

Jeez Bonlynn not even gonna say one positive thing about them? You could at least admit they’re fast as all get out :P Also yeah the overly rich get up that screams over compensating definitely made me think royalty. Also welcome back! Steam is off to a great start with this chapter, though it feels a bit surreal to be back in the steampunk era after Space and it’s super advanced technology and Aliens lol.

I thought we would be seeing William make a geas pact with Yelena first thing but I guess this happened offscreen.

Honestly I kind of always assumed George was from the future. Thinking back on it I'm not sure why I thought that.

We're so back

William be like: "the factory must grow"

Among the other good things in this update, we just got another clue about George Statfield. William stared out at the watching crowds, eyes roaming over each of them as he’d been instructed to do. It was almost familiar in a way. He’d once stood upon a similar stage for not entirely dissimilar deeds. That is a strong suggestion that George had been decorated for heroism in combat. I still think George was too young to have served in WW2, but that does suggest he did serve in the military at some point. My guess, given that he was in his 70s when he passed, that he served in Vietnam. We know he was a pilot at some point, but we don't know whether it was military, commercial, or possibly even general aviation. One possibility would be that he was a Skyraider pilot in Vietnam.
