Course of Temptation July Update Early Access (v0.6.7)
Added 2025-06-30 20:44:14 +0000 UTC
It's time for early access to the July update!
Our volunteer contributors have been quite busy this month! You'll see a number of credits in the changelog so far, and their hard work has really added to this update. I'm still working on it myself as well — as often happens, I want to give it some more time, so I'll be expanding on it in the next week leading up to the public release.
Noteworthy feature additions:
Weather algorithm (mostly) finalized: The weather system itself is now more or less finalized, besides further tweaking, bugfixes, and adding new events related to it. Further updates in this area will relate more to locations that leverage seasonal changes and special seasonal events like Renewal Festival and Harvest Eve. We've added some events around town and campus only available in certain seasons, and we'll continue to expand in this area too.
Snowy worldstate: The first heavy snowfall in winter will transition the world into a snowy state, which can lead to some new events not otherwise available. This also changes the look of the maps and most outdoor location images. The first above-freezing day in spring will lead to the snow receding once again.
Clothing wetness: Heavy rainfall now has consequences: wet clothing may stick to your body, and certain types and colors of fabric will turn sheer! Wetness accumulates over time in rain, though certain events may soak you much quicker. Carrying an umbrella or wearing a raincoat will mitigate this effect.
Temperature effects have been made less punishing as well: the negative need modifiers have been reduced, and the system has been tweaked so that it's easier to dress for the weather. In particular, sticking to cooler clothing in warm weather will no longer cause you to be more overheated than you would be otherwise. We may continue to tweak this. Remember, if you don't like temperature or weather effects, you can turn them off under difficulty options.
Please find your link to early access just below these release notes. And as always, thank you for your support!
Release notes
Added some new hairstyles, distinguishing features, and clothes (with contributions from HeeHo)
Implemented various optimizations and performance improvements, especially felt when rolling events in locations with large numbers of NPCs (contributed by StealthyLewds)
Added a new, kinder variation to the “nerd with books” event on campus (contributed by StealthyLewds)
Implemented a detailed tooltip for NPC names that shows a lot of relevant info without needing to click through to the View Person dialog (contributed by noonycurt)
Implemented a system for wet clothes (contributed by noonycurt)
Clothes gradually grow wet when outside in precipitation… or sometimes all at once, during certain events
Clothing of certain types and colors will become transparent when wet
Clothing will dry gradually over time, faster if it’s warmer, or you can dry it all at once in a bathroom or by doing laundry
Umbrellas, raincoats, and the like will prevent your clothing from getting wet
Added various weather-related events (with contributions from noonycurt)
In bad weather, outdoor hangouts will be less populated with NPCs and indoor hangouts more populated
Added a quick forecast when waking up so you can plan for the day, if you have either weather or temperature effects enabled
Added some winter-themed maps and location images that change after the first winter snowfall
You can now decline new rules from your dominant partner, though at the cost of some attitude
If the PC has multiple dominants making rules for them, each will only care about rules they’ve set themselves (in ongoing saves, this only applies to newly made rules)
Belatedly added story hints for ClickbaitTV and writing minicareers
The River Rat career now provides a bit more feedback about when you can expect your next promotion (contributed by StealthyLewds and Starlight)
Many fixes and tweaks

Do you plan on putting some stanning mechanic or even a beach ? It would be really cool.

2025-07-03 02:59:51 +0000 UTCDo NPC's /profs react to the new clothing state (wet / transparent), or is it just for mood & roleplay (so far)? Will clothing state trigger events or affect existing events?
