Course of Temptation June Update Early Access (v0.6.6)

It's time for early access to the June update!

It's been a little while! I was on vacation for the last couple of weeks. I'd had vague plans to add some June update stuff in my downtime, but I ended up not really having downtime, and on top of that, I've been sick the past few days! As a general rule, I like my progress reports to be about things I've done rather than things I didn't manage to get done, but sometimes stuff happens. Anyway all I really want to say is I'm not done with this update yet, and I'll be adding some more of the things I had planned on the way to public release in a week, so this changelog will expand. I'll also be back to regular dev diary updates next week.

Noteworthy feature additions:

Writing books: One of those suggestions that's been moderately popular for a long time, but never with so much clamor that it was easy to prioritize. Well, its time has come! You can now write and self-publish ebooks and earn a little passive income. In addition, if you're using the non-legacy save system, then books your characters publish will be available to other characters in your other saves! This is part of ticking off the "creating things" item from the last content priority poll, and I hope to do some more in this vein.

NPC count slider: You can now increase the number of NPCs in your game up to four times the usual count, if you're using the non-legacy save system. That's about two thousand NPCs! Note that boosting this slider up all the way will create noticeable slowdown points even on the fastest devices (like a desktop PC!) so if you're not using a very capable device, take care with this setting.

Be a mascot: The college has gained a mascot through the efforts of Noonycurt and Hee Ho. This is essentially a new "sport" attached to football, with an all new set of events.

Please find your link to early access just below these release notes. And as always, thank you for your support!

Thanks, I'll force the dialog to close when you talk to somebody

Anarchothaumaturgist

First I've heard of crashes when creating books (I'd need more info) but popping up unrelated screens should be fixed in the new early access build

Anarchothaumaturgist

Playing on iPhone, when trying to start a new book and describe the book, the game crashes repeatedly. Also seems like when typing to describe the book, it’s somehow also interacting with the menu, opening up the inventory screen and character menu

Bickering about morals is my kink, wink-wink

Been enjoying the game immensely. (a lot more this time since I figured out how to talk to people, get their names and phone numbers and stuff lol) Little issue I'd like to adress: On android, when I go into the People menu, select a person and then "Talk to them", the side menu stays open, occluding the view of the conversation options. That means I have to close it every time, which is only one extra tap, but this adds up if I'm trying to get to know a lot of people fast. It would be great if the side-menu auto-closed when you talk to people. It gets even worse if I fumble with the small close-menu-button and accidentally hit a bit of character description behind it, sending me to the person's description again.
