Course of Temptation September Update (v0.5.3)

Here's this month's update from the contributor team and myself! This update's main focus is addressing some older events that needed modernizing and extending the encounter system.

Encounters are now aware of the type of space they take place in. For example, missionary on the floor of a tiny shower stall is no longer a thing that happens.

The system is further aware of what furniture and other objects are available to interact with. You can be bent over a desk, mount somebody on a chair, or even lie down on a bed! If your partner pins you up against something like a brick wall, it'll hurt. Verisimilitude!

Over time this system can be expanded further, with certain props available depending on where you are, and being pushed up against a window intersecting with the exhibitionism system. Positions can be made very specific, allowing us to better handle sex furniture, gloryholes, and the like.

Many new toys have been added as well, in particular impact toys and clamps.

As always, a huge thanks goes out to the contributors for their hard work adding to this update! They've added new clothing, new events, and done much to expand this update.

Next week I will be back on the River Rat update. I hope to end up about done with the server job events this month. The bartender job event set should be a bit more straightforward, with the underlying systems mostly done. There will be a progress report in next Friday's dev diary.

If you're not aware, we're maintaining two parallel development cycles:

• The monthly update might contain new event sets, new locations, or new mechanics, but usually focuses on extending existing content or polishing existing systems. It comes out once a month with whatever we got done in that time period... hence the name!

• The roadmap update checks off one or more items on the roadmap, adding extensive new mechanics and a bunch of related new events in one go, often fundamentally changing how the game can be played. It usually takes multiple months.

• Added toys for impact play during encounters

• Added tail plugs to the Wild Fantasies shop

• Added some new sex acts, including leg humping and hair pulling!

• You can now give your pet a name

• Applied a UI update to the save dialog and added the ability to copy the save data to clipboard (contributed by majou)

• Added options to universally toggle off tattoos and piercings on NPCs

• Added pantyhose, knee socks, and some other random clothing bits

• In the rare event that your server on a dinner date is a partner you might be cheating on, they will now grow quite suspicious

• Added variations to assorted events blocked by higher skillgates, adding alternative skillgates or variations for lower skills

• When hooking up in the River Rat, more dominant PCs will always have the option to pull their partner into the restroom

• The porn shop gloryholes can now be discovered without having to complete the roommate’s partner’s dare at a higher level of Disinhibition

• Added a toggle for the graphical meters in the People dialog. Toggling this off can help slower devices in loading this dialog

• There is now some acknowledgment of romantic relationships in the arcade tournament prize phase

• Added a couple more romantic partner events in class and around campus

• Fixed an issue causing the Harasser and Admirer characters to fail to respect the genders requested for them when generated

• The Harasser and Admirer should now correctly spawn single

• Added a Diary tab to the Character dialog where you can write notes or whatever you like

• You now have a chance of convincing an NPC to break up with their partner with high Romance or Lust. Homewrecker!

• Added an action in the dorm inventory screen to rehome your pet

• NPCs can now have favorite positions, revealed as a personality trait

• Added some events for when you eat at QuickieBurger (contributed by UnderscorM3)

• Extended The Porn Addict event set, and made the previous events more likely to fire

• During encounters, the system is now aware of how much space and what furniture is available

• Some spaces no longer allow all positions — for example, you can no longer spoon together on the floor of a tiny shower stall

• “From Behind” position no longer exists, in favor of separate “Doggy” and “Bent Over” positions

• “Oral Service” position renamed to “Prone Oral Service”

• Several other new positions added to allow interaction with walls, desks, tables, etc.

• Interactions with various rough surfaces will be acknowledged during encounters

• Tooltips can now be completely disabled as an accessibility option (may also improve performance on slower devices)

• A new bulletin board message hints at a future storyline (contributed by Meat Glacier)

• Some content options no longer default to being enabled. Please double-check when you start a new game

• Many fixes and tweaks
