Release notes:
First public release.
Major features:
- Made a whole life simulator game!
- Summit Market job. Doesn’t pay much and isn’t very interesting, but it’s close to home, so not the worst way to spend a spare hour or two.
- QuickieBurger job. Pays better (eventually) but it’s a bus ride away in town. Many events plus a longer term plotline attached.
- The River Rat: A bar to drink, chat, get picked up at. Random events here but no job (yet! I have plans).
- Friday night quad party: Starting week two, get invited to the quad party. Great way to repair your Attention and Relaxation needs and find some fun. Events and longer term plotline attached.
- Master Blaster Arcade: Play solo for fun, make unwise side bets with others, play in weekend tournaments and be a tournament prize yourself. Learn about it by playing video games in your residence hall lounge and staking something besides money when asked.
- Plotline with your roommate and their SO where you’ll be issued dares and challenges.
- Tons of random events at the gym, park, library, your residence hall, the bus, and just walking around.
Mechanics:
- Implemented life simulation: locations, actions, needs, food, clothes, and all the rest.
- Implemented NPCs: semi-random archetype-based procedural generation as well as partly pregenerated narrative niches.
- Implemented “inclinations” to alter both PC reactions and NPC behaviors.
- Implemented event system to pick random event from a set.
- Implemented classes and studying.
- Implemented encounter system
- Implemented skills and skillcheck system
Bugfixing and polishing:
- A lot! I’ve been doing nothing else for two weeks!
