March WIP: on the ending of Breaking Bad
Added 2025-03-31 16:19:16 +0000 UTC5 1/2 minutes from... something? I wrote this a while back when I wanted to talk about the ending of Breaking Bad, but couldn't figure out how to end it. I have some idea where I might go with it now, but the line between "this is interesting" and "I am interested in writing about this" is fuzzy indeed. so, for now, this is a shelved idea I thought I'd share with you. I may find myself reinvigorated on the topic or discover a fresh angle, in which case this might see the light of day! until and unless, it is just for you. recorded on my phone and lightly edited. anything may change before publication.

what you say makes a degree of sense, but I wouldn't know! I so rarely had the experience of starting a project early. I *can* say, with confidence, that procrastinating does *not* make the time before I start feel "free." being born in January, I can vouch that a *lot* of birthday parties were ruined by stressing the whole time about all the winter break homework that was due in a couple days and which I hadn't even started.

No matter how good it is, you could make it better. Do a bit more research. Think a bit more deeply. Come to one more insight. Improve the order of the sections. Streamline the wording a bit more. Maybe get rid of that last typo that you're only going to spot once you hit print/submit. Every time you consider your work, and think "Have I really finished?", the answer can always be "no". Starting early doesn't mean finishing early, it just makes every assignment feel like it's taking up all the time you have. On the other hand, starting late means the time you have to work on the assignment is more constrained, but the time you have *before* you start feels genuinely free.

2025-04-02 16:25:05 +0000 UTCall things being equal, a page of text doesn't take me very long to write. the time sink is, how long did it take me to figure out what I was trying to say, and how many times will I have to rewrite it, and how long til I figure out the next page?

2025-04-01 12:04:51 +0000 UTCOut of curiosity, how long does it take you to write one of these 5m work in progresses?
