Lessons 8 and 9 updated with native recordings!

Good afternoon Patrons!

I just wanted to let everyone know that lessons 8 and 9 have been updated with high-quality native recordings. I also made a few, minor changes to each lesson such that each episode is a bit more beginner friendly. Each updated lesson can be found here:

8. Pitch-accent for 1-4 mora nouns
9. Pitch-accent for 5+ mora nouns and compounds

In the next day or two, I will be updating lesson 10 as well with native recordings. If anyone has any questions related to this post feel free to leave a comment below!

Thank you for your continued support, and talk to all of you again soon.

Hi Dogen, new subscriber from YouTube here! Is there a way to access previous videos/lessons before lesson 8? Thanks!

Hi Andrew, I don't know about rules for when ใฎ separates two nouns, and I don't have any episodes on the modifiers ending in ใฎ, but I do have one lesson later on in the series about how ใฎ can change the pitch accent of certain preceding nouns, which can be found here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/26122132 And I also briefly cover how there are certain set phrases such as ใ“ใฎไบบ, etc. which are always said in a certain way, despite the pitch accent of words such as ใ“ใฎ in isolation. This information can be found here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/26490968 It's my understanding that ใใฎ้›ป่ปŠ is heiban, though ้›ป่ปŠ itself is pronounced by some people as an atamadaka work, which would make ใใฎ้›ป่ปŠ nakadaka for said speakers.

Are there rules for how pitch is affected when a ใฎ separates two nouns like A ใฎ B? Also do the modifiers ending in ใฎ affect the noun that comes after? For example, is ใใฎ้›ป่ปŠ heiban or nakadaka?

Andrew
