September 4-Track Song 2: You Will Know The Way
Added 2025-10-01 00:05:02 +0000 UTCArt by Billis Helg
Originally a 3/4ths waltz that sounded like something coming from a carousel, this one stumped me for a while until I eventually switched it to 4/4, and turned again to the gospel of John and Christ's speech at the last supper for inspiration.
Recording:
Track 1: Acoustic guitar
2: 12-string guitar
3-4: vocals
Lyrics:
In the dying of the evening
I will come to comfort you
Calling out the gentle word
The world cannot receive
Not deceiving, all in earnest -
โOh, my friend, my life for you!โ
Keep me in your heart and you will
Always have a friend
Love
Love as Iโve loved you
In patience and in truth
And you will know the way
On the hill beneath the mountain
I will make a home in you
Like the vine that drapes the meadow
I rejoice in you
Peace I leave you, peace I give you
Not as though the world can give
In the world is persecution
In you there is peace
Love
Love as Iโve loved you
In patience and in truth
And you will know the way
Love
Love as Iโve loved you
The spirit guides you through
so you will know the way
