Arriving way after everything, not sure if this comment will ever be read, but the last minutes of this video stroke me as personal. You being stuck in "on-brand" mid-tier videos about disney nostalgia, aiming for stable revenue, not taking much risks. And then, next video, bam ! Heavy topic, risky, that you probably took a lot of shit for. And even though I was not a fan, you deserve applaude for taking that risk. So there, hm, clap-clap, but I mean it.

I've been outlining a book with the exact same thesis, that CRT/DEI panic is a smokescreen, and SEL is truly being fought because empathy is now direct threat to White Christian Nationalist, Authoritarian politics and MAGA. I was going to call it "White Christians Need to Understand They Are Now a Minority (and Deal With It)" You articulated every point I've been wrestling with. So want to thank you for doing a lot of my research.. :) This video was so much of what I was researching when I came to it. So all I have to do is fact check you.. and I think I can trust you already did that ;) Your pop culture references were as ChatGPT is fond of saying the "chef's kiss", and the deep dive into Christian talking points was masterful. This was the first video of yours I've seen, and now I'm officially going down the rabbit hole of your back catalog. Absolutely incredible work. Thank you.

I went to college for animation (was in the same class as Maggie Kang, director of KPop Demon Hunters) & worked in the industry for a few years (my husband is an animator & most of our friends are in the industry) and one thing this video reminded me that animation is a real meat grinder sometimes. There are so many people & so much money involved in making an animated movie, it feels like a miracle when one gets made at all. The most talented artists in the world just made that mid Dreamworks talking animal movie. Sometimes you get a producer who protects their team & a director who actually knows how to work with an animation pipeline (another frustrating thing: the influx of directors with no animation experience making things hell because they can’t look at unfinished artwork), but those instances seem to be few & far between. Animators deserve better! Anyway. :P An aside: I quite like the Bambi transition between his mother’s death and the beginning of spring. Lost my dad to cancer last year & one of the parts I found so stunning is that you can have a huge cataclysmic event marked by overwhelming grief, but life just … goes on. I thought that moment captured the feeling well.
