2016-05-03 08:34:28 +0000 UTCTitanic because, to my knowledge, there is no adaptation of 9/11 were everyone gets saved by dolphins in the end

2016-05-03 06:46:41 +0000 UTCHaha, honestly having done the preliminary research 9/11 is probably the most watchtime heavy.
Lindsay Ellis
2016-05-03 00:40:11 +0000 UTCLindsay has a TON of tv shows and movies to go through if the Sinking of Titanic wins. There are so. Freaking. Many.

2016-05-03 00:38:35 +0000 UTCI'm voting for 9/11. Very curious where Lindsay might take that one.

2016-05-02 17:47:59 +0000 UTCI'm voting for 9/11. The Spider-Man teaser trailer and they put a US flag in the movie.

2016-05-02 09:20:19 +0000 UTCI'm going with Titanic, mainly due to the fact I'm not American, and also I'd like to see how many Titanic movies involve a romance as the main plot thread, (of four I've seen, they all had a romance plot.)

2016-05-02 08:43:05 +0000 UTCI am feeling 9/11
2016-05-02 08:04:37 +0000 UTCas a non American I will have to go with Titanic
The Great Heathen King
2016-05-02 07:50:42 +0000 UTC9/11
2016-05-02 07:48:07 +0000 UTCI'm gonna go with 9/11, since it has become what defines human life in the 21st century. We are, and always will be, living in a post-9/11 world.

2016-05-02 06:39:47 +0000 UTCForgot to put my vote down...I guess i'll go for 9/11?

2016-05-02 05:18:09 +0000 UTCGood job on summarizing the complicated history of Aphrodite! I once tried to write a YA novel about Artemis and Apollo and man what a can of worms. I thought I knew my Greek mythology and that the research stage would be more in the way of a refresher, turns out the versions I knew weren't the ones everyone else seemed to know. Part of the trouble is that we have this notion of the Greek pantheon being set in stone, as if there were some sort of codified, definitive version, but there just isn't. Greek culture was vast and varied and full of local deities who sometimes became subsumed into the Greek gods we think we know. I got as far as trying to track down sources for this story about the Greek gods going to war in Egypt and eventually just had to give up. (Also, Apollo was a dick.) No matter what version of a myth you go with, you'll always have someone trying to correct you. I have no opinion on the historical event episode. I do however have a question about future possibilities. Would you ever consider talking about all the generations of Pokemon?

2016-05-02 03:50:26 +0000 UTCYeah that's the one I've always heard. It never made much sense to me either. Possibly what confused Lindsay is that Pegasus is often referred to as Aphrodite's child. I wish I could find a citation for this but wikipedia is giving me nothing.

2016-05-02 03:13:41 +0000 UTCVoting for Titanic because of those hilariously awful Italian animated movies. Y'know, the ones with (respectively) the rapping dog and the giant octopus.

2016-05-02 02:17:52 +0000 UTCOh, and since there's no voting link up yet, I vote for Pearl Harbor. Not just because I want to see her tear into Michael Bay again either, though it's a nice plus.

2016-05-01 18:01:53 +0000 UTCGoing to choose 9/11, but only because of WTC View. Will this focus on the event or include the aftermath which has explicitly and implicitly been a part of much of film & TV.

2016-05-01 15:42:23 +0000 UTCI didn't see a link; 9/11 gets my vote if voting here works. Cheers for the video!

2016-05-01 10:57:11 +0000 UTCWhere can we vote on the next one? Is the link already available?
2016-05-01 10:47:44 +0000 UTCHm, that's a choice. Titanic has been butchered into many terrible movies, and (and I mean no offense with this to Americans) I'm heartily sick of hearing about 9/11 and how it was totally the worst thing evar you guys (seriously, I'm sorry about that, I know it's really, really, really insensitive and horrible). So I guess I'll go Pearl Harbour and just close my eyes during the Michael Bay movie part. (Again, really sorry about that 9/11 comment.)

2016-05-01 09:47:05 +0000 UTCI have to point out that Aphrodite had nothing to do with Medusa but rather Athena! (Well, judging by the rest of the video, they changed that for Xena :p but the usual version I know is that Medusa is assaulted by Poseidon at Athena's temple, instead)

2016-05-01 08:51:33 +0000 UTCGreat video Lindsay! I didn't realize that women in Sparta were better off then in Athens, especially considering the war like nature of the Spartans and the fact that Athens was named after a warrior goddess.
2016-05-01 08:13:28 +0000 UTCYour password made me want to watch it even more. Also, wow, I didn't expect that when I voted for Aphrodite. Really, God of War? From a guy who is in his early twenties and straightish, that's a really bizarre way to include a sophomoric sex scene even with a guy who was manipulated by the gods to kill his family. Off character isn't it?(I haven't played it. Just know bits of the plot).

2016-05-01 07:22:12 +0000 UTCsomeone wrote and animated that with the intention of it being enjoyed by actual adults :/....certainly reveals what they thought of their player base

2016-05-01 05:05:27 +0000 UTCas far as games go that sequence was stupid even for 2010....not that that's saying a whole lot but still (in fact I was surprised that was dated at 2010)

2016-05-01 05:04:06 +0000 UTCSide note, whatever happened to your Animorphs review? I was looking forward to the ultimate Nostalgia Chick colliding with my favourite adolescent book series.

2016-05-01 04:47:41 +0000 UTCI'm glad to see I'm not the only champion of Hercules the animated series. I also have a soft spot for the Aladdin one, both had some great writing. As for disasters, nothing has affected film like 9/11, and what you mentioned in your War of the Worlda review piqued my interest.

2016-05-01 04:21:50 +0000 UTCThe God of War segment gave me indigestion.
2016-05-01 04:05:20 +0000 UTCThat whole God of War segment made me crack up. Was that scene written by a thirteen year old boy?
2016-05-01 03:53:35 +0000 UTCGreat episode! Wow, I didn't know that the Greeks were so anti-passionate love. Also, I thought you didn't tackle games, is this an exception or have you reconsidered?
