just a little joel video i think is bad. enjoy?

idk, im not really buying what i say here lol. i mean, she said someone plagiarized??? maybe she should apologize idk idk. I'm also not sure how the argument I'm making here extrapolates to when content creators say things that are offensive. like, if i said a racist thing, maybe you would be the main person i owed an apology to. just doesn't really work as a video.

I completely disagree

I am mixed on this one. If someone saw her tweet thread and came to the conclusion that the small creator (the editor, not legal eagle) that she went after had done something wrong and unprofessional, I think that a small redaction is in order. And I don’t really see anything wrong with people saying as much. Specifically because there is another person’s work and livelihood potentially affected here, I think that, to a certain degree, people are within their rights to ask for that to be addressed.

It's possible, and even good sometimes, to be wrong but still have a point

Eh? I’m kind of a mixed bag on this one, I can kind of see why you didn’t post it tbh. Like Idk, if you hear someone say something stupid and you like that person, it’s okay to be like ‘no actually. Yta here. You probably owe whoever you’re being shitty to an apology.’ And if they don’t want to accept that then yeah I agree with the move on and just lose respect thing. Like with your example, if you accidentally said something racist I’d think to tell you ‘hey, that’s kinda racist, you might be want to address that.’ Because I don’t think you’re the kind of person who wouldn’t say intentionally racist shit. I don’t really think it’s productive to immediately assume if a content creator is wrong then they’re wrong on purpose or they’re being malicious and idk, sometimes I hope telling people, ‘you’re the asshole here’ will help things a little? Mind, if they double down I do move on but like… Eh?

Oh my god I loved this video. I guess I understand why you didn't post it, but maybe post it?

In this kind of context, I pretty much think you’re right. An example that comes to mind for me is Peter Coffin. Once I stopped respecting them, I stopped supporting them on Patreon. If it seems like a creator is unable or unwilling to avoid baseless accusations, cutting them off is pretty much all a fan can do.

I think non-confrontational discussion is positive when done with mutual respect. Like fuckin tear into Jordan Peterson, but if someone is typically a reasonable person, as I believe illuminauti is, then discussion is a good thing. It doesn't mean they are attacked as a person. Self analysis and the ability to evolve ones perspective are such great skills. That is something I respect about you yet it seems like it creates some anxiety. As long as one is coming from a good place and allows themselves to be wrong, you're both good. Illuminauti may require such a moment, or maybe not. I don't know anyone well enough to say. However, we need to allow space for people to make mistakes. No one is perfect but we can always try to improve. (This is mostly relevant to the conversation I was having with my teenager today and it kind of applies here.)

I don’t think this video is bad. I think asking someone to apologize might be good if you think they’re capable of reflection on something particularly egregious. This situation seems like silly internet drama, and I still respect you and Illuminaughti and Legal Eagle.

the problem with apologies is that no one will accept one. the twitter people don't want to see her apologize in order to forgive her, they want to see her grovel, because apologising is inherently humiliating in a way

I'll be honest, your description scared me off of watching it. Like this description sounds like it's a guy on meth begging you to understand that he's not insane after he burns down his entire apartment building that he was trying to stop the demons from getting into the elementary school nearby. On one hand, it's a very intriguing prospect to watch a disjointed video and on the other I just woke up and this scares me
