Of Jesters and Orcs 6 Preview

Wonder Woman was a breath of fresh air in the old orcs opinion. Genuinely curious about his manner of fighting. Honestly he was enjoying it so much he actually forgot Nightwing was still present.

“You know… that sounds a lot like how samurai fought,” He said.

“Samurai?” Karaka looked at him curiously, “Huh, so they are here too. Fundamentally, I suppose. But I personally don’t adhere to their code,” He added with a snort, “Honor is well and good, but save it for worthy opponents and when your life isn’t on the line.”

“Worthy opponents?” Wonder Woman asked, eyebrow raised, “What do you mean by that? What’s your definition of it?”

“Someone who can match or surpass me in skill or ability,” Karaka said, “Not that skill determines the ultimate victor. My Master told me to fear the lucky novice because they can be unpredictable in how they react. I like to believe I’ve taken that lesson to heart, but sometimes I slip into old habits.”

Wonder Woman just hummed at that while Nightwing commented, “Well, I like to think I’m pretty skilled. But I’m well aware if you get your hands on me you could fold me like a lawn chair. So I’ll pass on challenging you for now,” He said, his voice dry and sarcastic.

Karaka snorted at the humans' words.

“It’s a good thing I’m supposed to be testing him then, isn’t it?” The demigoddess asked, hips cocked, “Mind if I use a shield?”

“Use what you wish,” Karaka said as he cracked his neck and limbered up

“How about you two move this to somewhere else?” Nightwing asked, “There’s a side room for sparring. God knows Batman threw me around often enough in there…” He grumbled.

Karaka snorted once more, “Better to be beaten and thrown around in a safe place, then it happens in the field where accidents can have fatal results.” He said, “I’ve heard humans call it… ‘tough love’ I believe.”

“Well, it’s where I left my shield last time I visited,” She replied with a smirk, “You remember that, I’m sure. I threw Batman through a window.”

“And I’ll never forget it,” Nightwing quipped.
