So i did the count and throughout the demo there is 176 screens,
a screen being an instance where sprites are showed on screen after you click, and an instance can have one or more sprite on it.
There are 87 screens out of those 176 that include both characters as separate sprites, meaning if i do the math right (i'll try my best) that in total there is 263 unique sprites in total i have to work on.
In the previous devlog post i mentioned how i'd try to put 4 hours each work day into sprite work, however, i want this phase to go as fast as possible, so i've decided that i'd do 4 to 5 sprites a day, no matter if it's a work day, no matter if it takes more than 4 hours.
Hopefully if i achieve that, that would mean that this phase of the development of the demo would take around 60 days if i do at least 4 a day.

On work days dedicated to Reincar stuff, I'll try to still only do 4 to 5 sprites a day, and dedicate the rest of the day to other stuff i need to work on before the demo goes public like designing and creating the look of the menus, audio stuff like menu music, ambient sounds and noises for like when a character walks, or grabs another character and such.
60 days, two months, seems both like an eternity away,
and also so close it could be next week.
I cannot thanks you people enough for the patience you've shown, and it's hard to write to you that "there's still two months before the DEMO is done" as I cannot help but feel bad for asking you to wait yet again when you've already been so patient.
Thank you again for your patience, and for your continuous support!
On another note, on the day Im writing this, i went back to all of the sprites i had already finished and edited some of them, on previous posts, you can see that the sprites' eyes have the white part colored, and I've decided to remove it, at least for Eliot's sprites.
Here's the reason why:
-Im not good with human faces, i have a much harder time drawing something that satisfies me when it comes to human faces compared to anthro ones. Tho I still have a hard time with expressions even with anthro faces.
Since I'm not good with human faces, the best i can do that can still be fun to draw, and to look at for me, is simple, very doodly looking faces, and, I've decided to embrace that.
-I felt like adding the white part of the eyes was me trying to add details, for the sake of adding details without any real reason, and it also felt wrong, it removed the doodly aspect I had decided to embrace, and there's also the fact that, having a character with a doodly face, lacking details, can help me get more creative, goofy and extreme with how i decide to draw the expressions and i feel the the white part of the eyes feel awkward to work with, and would have to make me make expressions around that aspect instead of going crazy and have fun with it.
Im completely aware that not only this is a lot to have written down just to explain why I've decided to remove the white color par for the eyes of Eliot, but fuck it, I've decided that I'd go crazy with the devlogs too, explaining every details no matter how nit-picky they are!
Here's a gif that shows dem finished sprites so far, it ain't much but it's honest work uwu
And here's a sketch i did of a scene that will appear in Chapter 2 !
I know we're def not there yet but it's something i wanted to get out of my head haha
And now is an appropriate time to mention, these devlogs can and will probably have minor spoilers for future parts of the project.
And before i end this 11th devlog post, I also wanna say that, I've been wondering whether Reincar, a dreamer's ballad was a good title or not, especially since Reincar is more the title of the world itself, than the story, and i was thinking that if this project works well, and gains a lot of traction and following, just maybe, that I'd eventually do other projects with this world and it's lore, like the initial idea i had when making it, being an erotic TTRPG or just RPG. Which is a reason why i didn't want "Reincar" to be only associated with this specific project and all.
But now that I've had time to think about it, I'm alright with the current title, as Reincar is the title of the world and "A dreamer's ballad", the title of Eliot's story, it's nothing too special, but it's simple, and efficient!
And with that, this is the end of this post, thanks to whoever has made it that far, i can't thank you enough for your attention and support, really!
