New game features
- Implemented battle reinforcements system
-- Both the player and enemy teams can now receive reinforcement waves starting after the first round of combat is completed.
-- Reinforcements spawn randomly within each team's reinforcements zone. These zones are indicated by tiles with five + marks on them, similar to deploy zones.
--- When there is no room for a unit to spawn in a zone, the game will try to spawn them as close to a reinforcement tile as possible in an ever-increasing radius
-- Reinforcement waves or units within waves can be conditionally suppressed based on the game state prior to battle. For example, being sneaky in a map may lead to fewer enemy reinforcements, or completing some quests may result in extra player reinforcements.
-- All enemy reinforcement waves must be defeated to win a battle, even if this means there could be no enemies on the field at a given time.
-- If all player units are defeated on the field at a given time, the battle ends in a loss as usual, regardless of an future reinforcement waves.
-- The battle UI indicates how many reinforcement waves each time has yet to recieve, as well as how many rounds away they are.
-- Added a tutorial message regarding reinforcements that launches the first time launching a battle using the mechanic
New game content (quests/writing/art/etc):
- Added new work in progress quest, Friends in Far Away Places
-- This is a main storyline quest that starts automatically once Spelunking for the Signet is completed.
-- This quest can be fully played through but is likely to recieve a little more content in Crowsbury and the Finianfern village areas, as well as additional battle balancing and testing
- Added new encounter featuring Glabbardot in Whitetail Watch
-- This encounter starts outside the prison after Spelunking for the Signet quest is complete
- Added cat-Willow artwork for the intimate scenes in Willow under the Willows quest. Art is by GlobbinArts.
- Added new art with Willow in her red dress for the Willow at the Window companion quest. Art is by GlobbinArts.
- Added new art for Lilian and Elizabeth / the false Queen of Sorrows in the Strange New Silk quest. Art is by GlobbinArts.
- Added Clarissa the banshee artwork in the tutorial island quests. Art is by GlobbinArts.
- Added new battle theme. Music is by floralia
Miscellaneous:
- Recruiting dwarves in Journey to the Center-ish of the Earth now has no upfront cost
- Battle entities under AI control will no longer delay their turn if their turn begins 6 or more tiles away from the nearest enemy.
-- This serves to keep units moving in battles and not waste time delaying their turn needlessly, especially with the new reinforcements mechanic
