They got into their current situation because they couldn't accept the loss of their mother and used dangerous and forbidden alchemy to get her back. Now once again they get into dangerous dodgy alchemy because they can't accept the loss of Al's body. It feels like they didn't learn from their mistake at all yet and are ignoring all common sense to chase the past
