This episode is titled something like "The Beginning" and it really feels like things will be different after this. This is the end of the arc that had all the answers to all the mysteries we've had so far. Even some from season 1 like Suiren and Jinshi's true identities. Jinshi is also no longer the crown prince and Maomao is outside the rear palace. It really reminded me that this is "The Apothecary Diaries" and Maomao only just became a real apothecary officially. I don't know what happens next in the story, but it would be interesting if this really was all just the introduction to these characters.
