2023-09-24 17:10:43 +0000 UTCRammstein are known worldwide to have some of the craziest live performances. Its the main reason that its quite hard to find them on a festival. Most of their songs are written or inspired by different bandmembers whom talk about their life or an experience they had or an event they witnessed or heard of. For example the song "ich will" is a commentary about the media's insatiable and violent hunger for a good story giving the song a quite dark tint. The song "we're all living in america" is a commentary on the worldwide influence that the American culture and language have. The song 'Dicke titten' from their latest album is a just song about one of the bandmembers liking of big boobs so they can make lighthearted, even stupid, songs too.

They named themselves after the city when in '88 during an airshow and the US airbase there 3 Italian fighter jets collided and wrote their first song about the event. Rammstein means something like battering stone which they thought was quite apt for the type of music they make.

Great to start with a non English speaking artist too, there is so much amazing musik in the world in all languages that deserves exposure. Looking forward to the next chapters ๐๐ป
