Here in the states its not to uncommon for the Border Patrol searching semi trucks (lorries as you call them) at the US/Mexican border and finding the drivers trying to smuggle drugs into the US by either trying to hide it in their trucks or trying to hide it in the load. Outside of Indianapolis, Indiana there was a driver that got caught having several pounds of cocaine or something that had a street value well over a million dollars hidden in his truck...needless to say he won't be going anywhere anytime soon. At least here in North America I think the biggest way cartels try to smuggle drugs in is by semi truck or just by any vehicle in general. I remember I seen one program about the Border Patrol and their drug sniffing dog alerted to drugs in this vehicle, long story short this individual had hidden the drugs inside the fender wells, door panels and even above the fuel tank, pretty much gutted the whole car to find it all.
