[Blog] Elma Animation + Next Group Animation Update

Hey, its been a while!

Apologies for the for the lack of updates — I know I always say this after an animation drops, but somehow it’s already been a month since my last update. Didn’t expect to be away for this long, but I’ve had a few hiccups with the latest animation I’ve been working on. Those issues have been sorted out now, and I’ve got some things to share with you all!

Elma Animation Update

This one’s been a nightmare to render. The new model itself is fine, but I’ve been battling weird artifacting since April, forcing me to restart renders and tweak visuals. Had to compromise in a few spots, but I’m finally happy with it!

I’m planning to release the Elma animation this week for you all! There will be four versions:

• Definitive Edition

• Original

• XC2 Version

• True Form (Note: The True Form version might be delayed by a day or two since it’s still rendering as I’m writing this, but I’ll keep you updated!)

Poppi Animation Update

While I’ve been battling with those rendering issues, I managed to make some progress on the Poppi animation. I’ve completed one scene so far, and I’m aiming to finish two more. Unfortunately, since my PC is currently tied up with the Elma animation, I can’t show you a peek just yet. But I’ll be sure to share more next time!

Next Group Animation

Now, onto the next group animation. The winner of the poll was the Black Eagles girls from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. However, I’ve decided to go with second place: Eunie and Melia from Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

The main reason for this change is that I want to take advantage of a new update to Blender (the software I use for animations), which will help achieve the visual style I’m aiming for with those characters. The current version of Blender I’m using is a bit limited, but the new update will improve things a lot, so I’d like to wait for that.

I know some of you voted for the Black Eagles, and I’m sorry to disappoint, but I’ll make it up to you. When I do eventually get around to animating the Black Eagles girls, I’ll be sure to include all four girls in that animation.
