2026-02-19 03:08:30 +0000 UTCHuh, rather surprised and sad to see this as potentially the last book. I thought there was still so much to see and talk about in this world. It feels like too much to compress into one book. I could see easily both the leshkin war and black legion fitting, but also the potential ascent in levels of power, Rane and Lea potential ascension in power. I had believed there would be interactions with sovereigns and even conflict in future books. I thought there was still potentially further out in the world to explore and at potentially an entire book dedicated to both that further exploration and Tala's progression on fixing existence as an existence mage. Resolution of certain cells that were left behind but teased further, interactions with the rest of Tala's family as the years pass. Just so much. I hope this isn't the end just yet. But I also do understand that every story needs to end eventually so I guess I shall wait and see what happens.

If I don't feel it's in a 'series ending' place, I will write another book. I'm not tired of MM. I still love the world and writing in it. I simply feel that the story I have to tell is quite near its end, and I would prefer to not have it sneak up on anyone. I would rather say 'Last Book' and write seven more than have a chapter come to you all that says "This is it, this is the end, bye y'all!" π This is looking like the last book from a high-level perspective, but it might not be, hence the caveats. π (Again, I'd rather under promise and over deliver.) We'll see where it goes

2026-02-18 14:38:31 +0000 UTCDefinitely surprised to hear this will probably be the last book and I'm not sure that bodes well for Tala still being in this world at the end of it. However, I do appreciate an author that is actually willing to end a story rather than trying to drag it out. Also, this may just be me, but when I first read the previous chapter I didn't realize the Legion had successfully stolen Platoiri's central column. I thought the titans tried to steal the column, but Tala and the Arcanes' magics of last resort protected it and the titans just grabbed some other piece of Zeme nearby. You might want to make that a little more obvious in the previous chapter, although in novel form I suppose it doesn't matter as much.

Last book? I hadnβt even considered being near the end of the series. That sucks. But if youβre merging the Legion/Leshkin wars then Iβm sure itβll be properly dramatic.

2026-02-18 13:32:45 +0000 UTCThis being the last book feels kinda weird. There's still so much stuff for Tala to do and see, most of it nontrivial, I don't know that just one book would be enough. Unless she speedruns getting to Transcended and Sovereign in one book, which stumped Holly for millennia.
