Its Movie Time Mod v4.2.1
Added 2023-10-23 22:12:53 +0000 UTCWant to give your Sims some more stuff to do? Let them watch something new on a computer or the big screen. With each movie, there is also a poster, which you can find in Build-Buy mode. For a better experience, click on the Sim watching the movie and press Shift+Tab to enter first-person mode. This will allow you to watch the movies through your sim's eyes.
Installation
Download the file below and extract its content into your Sims 4 mods directory (typically C:\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods).
Updating
Same as installing, but when asked to overwrite existing files, press Yes.
PS: Zipped files come with a structured folder and sub-folders, to make installation easier and to avoid creating duplicates. If you copy TanksMods from the zip file and paste it in your Sims 4 Mods directory, it will automatically create the main directory (TanksMods) and copy the necessary files or overwrite the existing ItsMovieTime mod for you (when updating)

Reworked the "Watch Movie With..." sim picker interaction, so that its hidden when there are no sims around or the actor has not met any of the nearby sims.

2025-01-31 00:19:56 +0000 UTCDid you install TanksMods Mod Central (link in the Requirements in the above post)? That needs to be installed too in order for ItsMovieTime to work. So, its ItsMovieTime, TanksMods Mod Central and a few movies. Thats all. Also, make sure that files ending with .ts4script can not go deeper than 1 folder in your Sims 4 Mods folder, while .package files can go up to 5 folders. If everything is set, you should be able to see a tanksmods.log file in your Sims 4 folder, open it and see if there is any warning/error inside (it will tell you whats missing).

But please note that some of the movies are marked as premiere movies, and they are "hidden" by default (if you have CustomHolidays mod installed too with the Movie Premiere feature ON) and will create a "Watch Premiere Movie" event in the calendar once installed. And only after the respective event is over, will the movie be visible in the movie list with the rest of the other movies.

This due to the changes EA made, so Zerbus mod is more like a global mod for custom preferences. You will find the link to Zerbu in the IMT description page.

I did 50/50 method and finally I found that when I removed your mod I was able to go into CAS again. Can you help, please?

I played the game with no CC's in the MOD folder just this mod and the CAS isn't loading properly when I go to edit a family. I also get UIException errors. I think it has something to do with the CAS selection which has been removed, you can't select favourite movies anymore.

If thats the case, im guessing its because some of the movies are premiere movies, and when installed, at first they will create a custom event for the specific movie, and the movie wont be visible in the picker till the event is over. You may disable the premiere feature for any movie category or altogether, if you want to see the newly installed movie right away.

You will also need either zerbu's venue changes mod or the customized basemental venue list attached to the mod page. It works as any another business, except its managed through the phone (unless you have EP01 as well, it would then be possible to manage it from business panel too, once you have bought the business).

2024-02-17 19:48:07 +0000 UTCHi. The festival is fully automatic, so no need to do anything on your side to activate it. All the required objects will spawn automatically once you go to the festival. Try to keep an eye during Mondays at 3 AM, because thats usually the time when it gets marked on your calendar. There is also a notification that pops up when the festival is up.

Because now i can’t see any information in my calendar, there are only Movie Premier holidays. I've put all the objects to watch movies in Magnolia Blossom (screen and chairs) and I also tried to find some objects of the festival, but I've found only the statue and there is no shop. So, how does it work? Or is it possible that i can't see it because of some mod conflict?

Because during once the lot loads up, the mod tries to locate any installed movie and play it on the lot TVs. Im guessing that might be the case. Also, if possible, please upload the Exception file on discord, so i can have a deeper look at it.

Once my sim try to buy a cinema or go to the cinema and I choose the lot (which I've done with all the options there) the game stops and the Better Exceptions reports that there is this kind of error: Possible Cause (Confidence: 30%): Projects\TanksMods/src\tanksmods\zone_directors/cinema.py Exception raised while processing zone spin up sequence: TANK:ItsMovieTime_ObjectStates_Movie_Channel_States (KeyError: TANK:ItsMovieTime_ObjectStates_Movie_Channel_States)

2024-01-15 00:30:56 +0000 UTCOk, i believe i have fixed this, one of the female tshirts wasnt properly tagged. Make sure to delete localthumbcache from Sims 4 directory after updating. Although i have tested it multiple times, let me know if its fixed on your side too.

There are some criteria for the Sim to watch the full movie, and most of the time, they dont watch a full movie (stressed, motives near failure, feeling miserable or bored, etc). You can use the Turn On function, to play a movie and then have the Sim watch it. This way, if the Sim does stop watching it, the TV will stay on. Also, there is a 10% chance that they will like or dislike a movie genre after watching it. I tried to stick to the original game-play.
