Since Stella was first introduced I found weird how similar was her voice to Levy's, the ship's AI. If she is some kind of "combat maid", aka a cyborg or clone that the military created, it wouldn't be weird that there is one "Stella" running the ship. And it would make sense that she can "sacrifice" herself for protecting the captain of the ship.
