CRIMSON CARLOTTA
It’s always a pleasure to work with the legendary Carlotta Champagne. She is an artist and model who has been working in this industry for over two decades with no end in sight.
She and I have shot up and down the coast of California, but a majority of our shoots have taken place in the famous Madonna Inn. The place was built for her. They are both timeless institutions, with a classic, vintage styles from the 1960s. They each are part kitch, part beauty, part old-world perfection that inspires us all.
For those who don’t know, Carlotta loves kitchy weirdness. She loves bright, clashing colors, surreal patterns and off-beat sensuality. She is both elegant and gaudy, adoring Rococo and trashy equally. Here she in in one of the great red rooms of the Madonna Inn. I hope you enjoy this series as much as we did in creating it!
