Tycoon Actor C484

Lucas felt something warm blooming in his chest—a deep, quiet joy.

Seeing the kids he once watched over now standing strong, smiling, healthy… it was overwhelming.

He couldn’t explain it fully, but it felt like watching children grow up from afar—children he’d somehow missed the years with, and now they were standing tall before him.

“It’s such a relief to see you doing well… brother,” Jonas said, voice low and sincere. “When the shooting happened, I couldn’t sleep for days. I kept refreshing the news, terrified you didn’t make it.”

Marian nodded. “Same here. I was glued to the TV.”

Lucas let out a soft chuckle and reached up, ruffling both of their hair like they were still kids—even if they were now young adults in their twenties.

“You guys worry too much,” he said with a crooked smile. “Didn’t you see the news? We’re alive and kicking.”

That earned a few chuckles, but Nicole looked at him more seriously.

“Yeah, but what about your mental health?” she asked gently. “I know what trauma looks like. That wasn’t just a close call. It was an assassination attempt.”

Liza nodded. “She’s right. If I were in your place… always watching my back, knowing someone out there wanted me dead—I don’t know how I’d function.”

Before Lucas could respond, Jennifer stepped in beside him, her voice calm but firm. “Thank you for your concern. Really. But you need to trust Lucas. If you saw his Oscar speech…” she gave a faint smile, “you’d know he’s stronger than anyone who tried to silence him.”

Lucas chuckled. “She’s got a point.”

The others smiled at that, and the heaviness in the room lifted a bit.

Liza turned to Jennifer and gave her a small nod.
“And you too, Jennifer. I’m glad to see you’re holding up.”

Jennifer smirked, lifting her chin. “Of course I am. I’m a strong woman. Comes with the job.”

Liza smiled, her gaze lingering on the couple in front of her.

She had to admit—there was a time she felt jealous of Jennifer. She once had feelings for Lucas too. Quiet ones. Unspoken. Buried in the corners of “what if.”

There were moments she’d imagined what life could’ve been like if she had ended up with him. Sometimes, the regret tugged at her chest. Sometimes, she even resented Jennifer, just a little.

But seeing them now, standing together after everything they’d been through…

Liza realized something.

Jennifer might truly be the one meant for him.

Because Lucas wasn’t just some ordinary man. He was bold, relentless—a storm that challenged the world to do better. A man who stood up to powerful monsters when everyone else turned away.

And Liza?

She wasn’t sure she could’ve stood beside someone like that without trying to change him.
If she had been with him, she probably would’ve asked him to quit. To leave the chaos behind.
To settle down. Live a quiet life. Be safe. Be normal.

But Jennifer?

She didn’t just accept the storm—she stood in the middle of it with him, without flinching.

That kind of strength… Liza wasn’t sure she ever had it.

And maybe, just maybe… that’s why it wasn’t her.

After reuniting with the kids, Lucas spent time talking with them—ignoring the other guests for a while. But no one seemed to mind. Some guests approached for a quick photo or a handshake, but most gave him space, understanding how much this moment meant to him.

Across the room, Joel sat at the director’s monitor, quietly reviewing the footage of Lucas embracing Jonas, Marian, Nicole, and the others. The raw emotion playing out on screen hit him harder than he expected. Even as a seasoned documentarian, it tugged at something deep.

Once the moment passed, Joel got production back on track, transitioning to the interviews with other guests.

One by one, they sat in front of the camera—survivors, families, people once buried in medical debt, or left homeless by tragedy. All of them had one thing in common: they’d been helped by LK Charity.

“My son needed surgery,” said a mother in her mid-thirties, eyes shimmering. “We couldn’t afford it. Then Lucas’s foundation stepped in. They saved my boy’s life.”

An older man with trembling hands added, “Our house burned down. Everything gone. We thought we’d be on the streets forever. But LK Charity helped us rebuild.”

The stories poured in—painful, inspiring, deeply human.

These interviews weren’t just about showing Lucas as a philanthropist. Joel knew that. It was about establishing credibility, building trust with the audience.

To show them: this man standing up to monsters wasn’t just a celebrity—he was someone who had quietly fought for people when no one else would.

Then came a lighter moment. During the sit-down with the former cancer patients, things turned nostalgic.

“Back then, I remember Lucas visiting us before he was even famous,” Nicole said with a small laugh. “We all called him Dylan—because we were convinced he really was Dylan from Modern Family.”

James grinned. “And when 50/50 came out, he rented out an entire theater so we could watch it with him. We were too weak to be in public spaces, so he made it private—just for us. Never forgot that.”

“Though he never did that again,” Jonas joked.

“We figured it’s ‘cause he got busy being a big shot,” James added with a laugh.

Behind the scenes, Lucas watched the footage being recorded, smiling through misty eyes. Those were precious memories—ones he didn’t talk about much. And now, watching those kids—now teens and adults—share their stories, it all came rushing back.

Even Liza had her moment in front of the camera, sharing what Lucas had done for her. She spoke calmly, but there was a fondness in her eyes.

Hours passed. When shooting wrapped up, Lucas didn’t want the day to end. He invited the entire group to dinner at his place.

Jennifer, always gracious, welcomed everyone.

They stepped into another car and headed toward Lucas’s private villa.

The moment James, Nicole, Jonas, Marian, and the others entered the grand estate, their jaws dropped.

“Holy crap, Lucas,” Nicole blurted out, spinning in place. “This place is huge!”

“I swear, two families could live here and never bump into each other,” James added, equally awestruck.

Lucas chuckled. Jennifer grinned beside him, while Liza leaned in playfully. “Well, besides acting, Lucas has his hands in a lot of businesses. I’m his partner in UberEats, remember? My restaurant chain exploded thanks to his app.”

“Wait, what?” Jonas blinked. “Lucas owns the app?”

“The whole damn company,” Liza confirmed, grinning. “He’s not just an actor. He’s a walking empire.”

“Dude…” James let out a long whistle. “That’s next-level.”

Lucas just smiled and led them to the kitchen. There, he and Jennifer cooked a meal together. It was simple but heartfelt—comfort food made from scratch. But the real surprise came after dinner.

Jennifer brought out a dish she called her “Chili Pizza Sandwich.”

“What the hell is this?” Nicole raised an eyebrow, half-laughing.

“You’re about to find out,” Jennifer said with a proud smirk.

Everyone took a bite. Jonas blinked. “Wait… it’s spicy. But also cheesy. Why is this good?”

“I feel like I shouldn’t like this,” Marian muttered, chewing carefully, “but I kinda want more.”

“Jennifer Lawrence, you are a culinary menace,” James said dramatically. “A delicious one.”

Jennifer just laughed, clearly pleased with herself.

The evening went by in a blur. They talked, joked, and shared stories under the warm glow of the villa’s lights. But eventually, all good things must come to a close.

As night fell, Liza and the rest of the group got ready to leave.

Lucas hugged each of them tightly, one by one. Jennifer did the same, her smile warm and genuine. Then the house was quiet again.

Too quiet.

Lucas stood in the hallway, letting the silence settle over him like a blanket. It felt strange after such warmth and laughter.

---

Day by day, Lucas remained focused on the documentary. Episode 1 had just wrapped, and Episode 2 was now entering pre-production.

But in the midst of it all, something was quietly approaching—Lucas’s birthday. April 15. Just a few days away.

Jennifer hadn’t forgotten. She knew Lucas hadn’t been thinking about it at all—not after the assassination attempt, the chaos that followed, and the worst part of it all… the delay of their wedding.

It was supposed to happen on his birthday.
Now, that plan was dust.

Still, Jennifer wanted to do something. So she came up with an idea—and pitched it to Joel, the director.

She suggested a special guest appearance for Episode 2.

Joel was hesitant at first. He didn’t entertain just any idea, not even from Jennifer. But after hearing her out, he agreed. Not for sentiment—but because it made sense narratively. It added weight. Truth.

A few days later, Lucas returned to the Netflix studio as usual, expecting another day of filming.

But as he entered the studio floor, he froze.

Standing there, chatting casually with a staff member, was his half-brother—Melvin Knight. The only member of his extended family he still trusted.

“Melvin?” Lucas blinked in surprise, walking over. “What are you doing here?”

Melvin turned with a grin. “What does it look like? I’m here to spill the tea. They brought me in as a witness.”

“You’re okay with that?” Lucas asked, still taken aback. “Talking about... them?”

“Absolutely,” Melvin said firmly. “Someone’s got to say it. Might as well be the sane sibling.”

Lucas couldn’t help but laugh. A rare warmth settled in his chest.

The cameras rolled, and Melvin gave his testimony—unfiltered and honest. He spoke about their father, Vince. About Katherine and his mother, Myla. About the twisted family dynamics. The deeper he went, the more disturbed everyone in the room became.

Joel sat in silence, stunned. ‘How do people like this actually exist?’ he wondered.

When the interview wrapped, Lucas stepped in to thank Melvin—but before he could speak, Melvin pulled something from his pocket.

“Happy birthday,” he said, holding out a small box.

Lucas blinked. “Wait… it’s my birthday today?”

Melvin just smiled. “Thought you might forget.”

Lucas opened the box—and inside was a necklace.

“What’s this?” he asked, puzzled.

“It belonged to your mother,” Melvin said gently. “I’ve been keeping it. Thought it was time you had it.”

Lucas’s breath caught. He stared down at the necklace, speechless. Inside the locket was a faded photo of his mother—young and smiling.

Even though he wasn’t born into this world—this body wasn’t originally his—something about that photo struck him deeply. He smiled softly, clutching the locket.

Then—pop!

Confetti burst from the rafters. Lucas turned in surprise to see Joel and the entire studio staff gathered with a birthday cake, singing.

And at the front of it all… Jennifer, holding the cake with a mischievous grin.

Lucas chuckled, shaking his head as the moment washed over him.

For the first time in weeks—
He felt… joy.

Real, grounding, heart-warming joy.

And in that moment, surrounded by friends, by light, by laughter—

He let himself feel it.

Completely.

---

Meanwhile, while Lucas celebrated his birthday surrounded by Jennifer, Melvin, and the Netflix crew… a very different scene was unfolding deep in the Appalachian Mountains.

In a remote cabin tucked into the woods, the three shooters—on the run for weeks—were jolted out of their false sense of safety.

It happened in an instant.

Boom.

“Go! Go! Go!”

SWAT units stormed in, rifles raised. Flashlights cut through the dim cabin interior.

“What the hell—?!” The stocky man shouted as he was slammed to the floor, arms pulled behind his back. “What is the meaning of this!?”

The pale hacker didn’t even fight—he froze, trembling. ‘How? How did they find us?!’

The woman raised her hands, eyes wide in disbelief. “We’ve been careful… there’s no way…”

The cabin filled with barking commands.
“You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law…”

Outside, a car pulled up.

A man in a hoodie stepped out. He adjusted his glasses as he approached the SWAT commander.

“These three match the facial scans and profiles we’ve been tracking,” the commander said, nodding in satisfaction. “You really cracked this open. We’ll handle the paperwork—your reward will be processed.”

But the man simply shook his head. “I’m not here for the money.”

The commander frowned. “You do this for a living, don’t you? Private cybersecurity, right? That reward is more than fair.”

“I don’t care,” the man replied, eyes narrowing on the restrained shooters. “I protect people for a living. These three put innocent lives at risk… and nearly killed someone I admire.”

The SWAT team exchanged glances as the hacker added, “Then why’d you do it?”

The man chuckled, then leaned in. “Consider this my gift to Lucas Knight. Happy birthday to him.”

“…Seriously?” the stocky man muttered, stunned.

The pale hacker, still being zip-tied, looked up. “How did you even find us…? We masked everything. We bounced signals. We used encrypted apps…”

The man smirked. “You were good. But not good enough.”

He crouched down slightly, his tone colder now.

“You logged into a Wi-Fi hotspot just outside town. One of your devices pinged a relay server I monitor—it stood out. Why? Because the MAC address matched a burner you used in Richmond before you vanished.”

The hacker’s face went pale.

“You think encrypted apps make you invisible? They don’t hide your device fingerprints. You left a breadcrumb, and I followed it.” He stood. “You might be ghosts to the public. But to someone like me? You’re just noise in the system.”

The SWAT leader let out a low whistle. “Remind me not to piss off a hacker with morals.”

The man shrugged. “They messed with the wrong idol.”

As the three were dragged out of the cabin in cuffs, he turned back to the squad.

“Now if you’ll excuse me,” he said with a grin, “I’ve got a birthday message to send.”
