The question is difficult to answer in general terms. However, one rule can be deduced. The more images from a collection are required and the greater the number of images in a collection, the more useful compressed archives will appear. No searching, no multiple clicking ... simply practical that way. If it could be attributed to general individual preferences, the answer would be simpler, but these also vary depending on the respective circumstances.
