2021-07-17 13:30:09 +0000 UTCYou know, looking back on my work from nearly four years ago, it really puts things in perspective. I didn't have a plan or really know much about the New World's universe in general. This gave me a lot of leeway for creativity, and that shines through. At the same time, characters and their actions were very...haphazard. I reread the begginings, and most of Torix's/Althea's/Kessiah's actions don't add up. I can't think of any unifying motivation for any of them. I went through, plotted those along with more character details across the board. I changed the reasoning behind a lot of Daniel's actions, and I, well, I did all kinds of stuff really. Those actions mount towards several undercurrents flowing across the main narrative, giving the whole experience more meaning. For instance, Torix is a tactician in the rewrite instead of taking such a passive stance. That will become even more evident in time. Back to writing/editing.
