WIP: The Heartache starts...

I have decided on the next project! And it feels like a have to show, even though it's still very far from done. I want to share a little preview of it!!!

If you look closely, there's a lot done here!! The highlighted part is basically "done"...

...but this is the full timeline so far. There's still a lot of empty space! The lyrics are the green bar above everything in V12, and the pink line that's cut and unorganized in V8 and V11 are notes so I remember what I want to put there.

I'm still working on commissions in parallel, but I admit, I got a little bit too excited with how things were going with this and spent a lot more time than I should've in it this week...

The video preview up there is just a very small part of it, but it's also the first part I got animated. It was the one that I was the most clear in my mind. Do you remember right at the start of Shadowbringers, when we can ask the Exarch about G'raha Tia?

By the way, although I say I've done a lot of it this week, I didn't do all of this from scratch now. The "G'raha Tia?" scene I already had blocked and posed from the first time I thought about making this video, so at least half of the work on it was already done! The timeline was already set up too, and the lyrics already translated and timed. I'm in no way working fast.

But I'm REALLY, really looking forward to working on this one!!! You know when you look at a WIP and get really excited to see the final version...only to be reminded that you're the one working on it and it's not going to get done unless you do it?

I mentioned it a few months before, but this one will be a MV of this song by Yuma Uchida. I've been obsessed with this ever since it came out, and to me it fit the Exarch journey so well that I want to make a video animated for the whole song. So it's...going to take a while. The idea didn't leave me alone ever since though, and I already started it, so I guess I have no choice.

Since I want to make it match the beats of the song, there's a lot of short clips, and Blender scenes with less than 20 frames. That's why it seems I've done a lot, and some are pretty quick to animate. But I still want to make it so every short clip is worth pausing to see it.

I'm really happy with this one, for example, but it's only on screen for one second!

I will keep working from this part of the video to the end, and then go back to the beginning, which I feel is going to take longer than this one is. Reason being that I started the video from the moment the Exarch summoned Lizard to the First, so basically every asset and environment is already defined, and all of the scenes are based on MSQ moments that already exist.

I want to attempt doing things we haven't seen before in the first half of the video, like a shot of the Crystarium being built, or the start of G'raha's crystallization...I still don't know exactly how I'm going to do it, but I have a few ideas I want to try!

For now though, I'm going to slow it down this week to go back to working on the last couple of commissions! When everything is done, I will be sure to share them here too! :)
