Makima comes out after the whole plot ends, and gives her own answer to the "Country mouse and city mouse" question. Basically "No matter where you are at, I'm still going to find you and exterminate you", at the end of the day farmers have to clean up the rats when they reproduce too much because it's detrimental to crops and because of sickness. So at the end, the mouse is always at the mercy of humans. There was never a happy ending for Reze and Denji even if they escaped. Makima is so fucking scary.
