Announcing Missy: The Rise of Poppy

The good news just keeps coming this week. I will once again be making you a Christmas present this year! However, I've decided that this time, it will not actually be Christmas themed. I've made two Christmas specials already, and while I do have a half-formed idea for a third, I don't want my catalogue to just be Missy and dozens of Christmas games. So without further babbling, I present this year's unfestive festive offering: The Rise of Poppy!

Step back in time two years to before Poppy was leader of the bad girls - to before she even WAS a bad girl, and guide this sexy little sociopath all the way to the top! Turns out that you were the one who unleashed Poppy on the world. Quite the plot twist, huh?

Like Christmas Eva and A Christmas Karen, this will be a short mini-game where I'm aiming for about 150 images and 15-20 minutes worth of content. Your job will be simple: take an angry, but ineffectual second year, and claw your way to the top of the bad girls!

I'm very excited to write a game centred around Poppy. She's truly nuts and a lot of fun to write as an antagonist, and now she's going to be the protagonist... well... anti-heroine at best. What insanity will you be exposed to when you can hear her thoughts? Expect a few new characters to show up as well, as any character that's under the age of 20 in Missy, (including, therefore, Missy,) won't be featuring in this game. Our girl is currently sweet 16 and still happily in middle school, with no idea of what her future holds. On the flip-side, some of the other characters you've seen outside school may still be there at this point in time...

So let's meet our supporting cast!

Kaitlyn
You know her as the girl hung up in Town Square for stealing a bra, but in this game, Kaitlyn Mico is still in fourth year and is one of the most vicious and feared bad girls at Saint Alancia's! Fortunately for you, she's on your side. Kaitlyn and Poppy are friends and on-off lovers at this point in the timeline and if you play your cards right, she may be your ticket in...

Malia
You know her, you love her. At this point in the timeline, Abbie's beautiful and popular sister is in second year and has yet to join the popular girls. She's a rising star for sure, and as your classmate, may have some part to play in our story.

Celine
A brand new character, fifth year Celine is the current leader of the Bad Girls. She's ruthless, cunning and cruel, and convincing her that you're worthy will be no easy task. Of course, you're Poppy, so all of that applies to you too! Plus you want her job...

Erin
Sort of new, but you have actually met her before: in Missy she's one of the young medical students studying under Dr Kuntz. Two years ago, however, she was a fifth year at Saint Alancia's and a popular girl prefect, much as Hayley is now. Erin is the de facto Queen of Alancia's at this stage, though as she's trying to get into medical school, her studies are more important to her.

Isabelle
You've met her if you've played Down with the Bad Girls! in Missy. However, in this time, she is Poppy's girlfriend. She is finally getting a character model, and maybe even a short scene.

Angel
A girl who needs no introduction, Angel is currently in third year, and already one of the popular girls' stars. Steer well clear of the fixer of the schoolyard's rulers. You don't even have the bad girls to back you up against her yet!
