Love and Defeat

Hi all. Thank you for joining me for today's public post. Today we're going to be talking Defeat Mode, with a survey at the end, and also about the upcoming quest Best Frenemies: Jessica's relationship quest.

If you've yet to play the mini-update, please be aware that there will be spoilers in today's article, so you might be best served waiting until you have before reading this. The survey will be active for a week.

Down with Missy!

I hope you all enjoyed the new alternate ending to Down with the Bad Girls! and even if you're of the domme persuasion, it's still a pretty hot lezdom scene anyway right? ^^ In addition to this, the modifications to the school day and many little additional ways that you can now find to redden our girl's face (and backside) hopefully delivered on the promise of a fresh new way to play.

In future updates, Defeat Mode also offers a much cleaner way for the user to shape their own experience and saves me wasting time trying to figure out what the player wants and anticipate it in the game's choices. From now on, if you have defeat mode on, you'll lose regardless, otherwise there will be a path to victory for you. As always, everything will unlock in the gallery at the end either way.

Romancing the brat

Which brings us to Jessica. I hadn't realised how little I've said so far outside the paywall regarding the new quest, since I'd got wrapped up in the mini-update. (Which, by the way, ended up being nearly as big as a full update anyway.) So here's the skinny on that.

Unlike Abbie and Lola, Jessica is a... complicated, somewhat divisive character. But she's also the most popular, equalled in this area perhaps only by Poppy. For this reason, her relationship quest will be somewhat more complicated than either of theirs. There will be three different routes through it.

Route 1 - Girlfriend

Like the relationship quests you've seen before, Jess will have a route in which you can become girlfriends. This option is for those of you hoping for Jessica to have a "tsundere" arc in which she eventually warms to Missy, or at least learns how to properly express feelings that were there all along. It's unlikely that she'll ever fully stop being a bully though. Hey, the girl is who she is, and that's why we love her!

Route 2 - Slave

This is the option I expect to be the most popular. There will be a route in which Missy can permanently become Jess's sex slave (for realsies this time.) They will begin a consensual(ish) BDSM relationship and you will serve your mistress like the subby little slut you are. I know that many of you probably wanted the Reign of Jess story to just basically stop after Chapter 4 as their relationship was now where you wanted it, but now you get to have that anyway, just without the whole... Miss Paris problem.

Route 2a - Defeat

This is why we just went through the process of adding Defeat Mode! This route will be a variant of Route 2 in which you'll still end up under Jess's heel, but you'll make a doomed attempt to resist first. Jess will enjoy putting a beaten Missy to work as her slave so much more than a willing supplicant!

Route 3 - Mistress

In route 3, you will have the option to finally tame Jess and make her your bitch! If you've been playing the game for the moment when a triumphant Missy will finally stand over a defeated Jess as in a cracking voice, she calls you "mistress," for the first time, then this story will have what you want too!

Secret route 4 - Not to Be

Because Jessica is such a divisive character, and some of you really hated the way she acted during Chapters 4, 5 and 6, there will be an option to reject her altogether. You'll still play most of the story, but when the crucial moment comes, you can break Jess's heart instead of win it if you really want. Just don't expect her to be any nicer to you! I'm also not going to put a lot of time or effort into this route, as so few people are likely to see it, but it'll be there.

The scenes from all three routes will unlock in the gallery once you complete the quest, but if you want to fully experience all three versions of the story, you'll need three save files.
