Once, twice, three times a loser

Hi everyone, and thank you for clicking on today's public post!

Last week's bombshell announcement of Defeat Mode was one of my most engaged posts ever. This new way of experiencing Missy has been phenomenally well received, and is set to be one of the most anticipated updates yet. There were lots of questions, and while I've answered all that have been asked, I figured that putting out a little more information about how this is going to work would be a good idea.

Defeat Mode is intended to be experienced with a fresh playthrough of the game. Because it effectively sets up a brand new path, it doesn't neatly fit in with sub Missy, as it's more about her being worn down until she stops resisting her tormentors. Most school events that utilise it will now have either harsher consequences or mini-scenes that punish resistance, while larger story elements will Feature a more episodic decline into servitude.

The Reign of Poppy

The story most affected by this will, of course, be Down with the Bad Girls! as it is getting an alternate ending. Most of the previews for this will, I'm afraid, be kept behind the paywall, but a few may sneak out through Deviantart. This alternate ending will shunt you onto the sub path as after Poppy breaks you and you swear to serve her, the effect will basically be the same as if you'd played the sub path and joined her willingly.

There will be few if any changes to Avenging Angel. A few bits of dialogue may need updating to reflect that Missy was dominated by Poppy instead of submitted willingly, but to keep the full range of options on the table for this quest, you can still beat Poppy and/or become a bad girl. There will, however, be consequences for this in the third and concluding part! (Currently working-titled Popular-pocalypse.)

Jess and Stacey

There won't be any changes either to Reign of Jess, as this story resolves the way it does for story reasons. Where Defeat Mode will interact with her is in her upcoming relationship quest. You may recall that I said last week that this is the reason this mode is being implemented now. As for Stacey, as we've already heard, you'll soon be getting the chance to resist her, with defeat now carrying a hefty penalty!

Miss Paris

Well, I mean, she can already do whatever she likes with you, Missy has been at her mercy this whole time. However, defeat mode will make her just that little bit more cantankerous and less forgiving than her usual fluffy, friendly, boundary-respecting self...

All-in-all, the real joy of this mode will be in finding all the little events I'm adding to the school day. It may very well be that this does more to add replayability than any number of new schoolday events, though there's plenty of those coming down the pipe too!

Until next time!

I waited for the release date ❤️

No. If you turn off defeat mode, the game remains exactly the way it is now. You can still choose willing sub options, but with defeat mode on, choosing to resist or fight will usually result in you eventually losing anyway.

So will defeat mode replace the sub route? Or replace the Dom route? Or be a third option all the way through. Sub Defeat dom on all decisions? I know I would still like to win on the "Slave to love" quest, and if im trying to be a bad girl and win, do we need to turn defeat off? Im still a bit confused about your description? It sounded like it would take away multiple choices and replace with an automatic loss that is not subby. And on other description it just replaces the sub consequences with defeated heroine consequences but you can still win?
