Cooldown

Hi everyone. I hope you've all been enjoying the mini-update. What little feedback I've heard so far seems to be good, if you're struggling to find any scenes, then as always, the gallery can guide you.

We had one emergency hotfix on launch day, otherwise everything seems fine. Don't pull that random lever in Missy's house, it can mess up some quests. It's a debug feature left in by accident that'll be gone in the next upload.

Anyway, with the mini-update up, my focus is now turning back to my favourite thing: The Reign of Jess! So let's talk about that for a bit. I'm at the writing stage with it right now, fleshing out and refining these ideas that have been rattling around for what seems like forever.

The Spider's Web

In the new chapter, our heroine will face a new challenge - determined to break her will and make her a slave, Jess will shift her attack from the straightforward humiliation and punishment we saw in Chapter 4 to a more subtle and clever series of mind games. The uber-brat has been doing her homework and Missy faces a sustained attempt to destroy her mind in the same way as the slaves in Chapter 3. Can she hold out long enough for Jess to be stopped?

Alongside writing the scenes, I've been working on some of the new maps we'll be exploring in the new chapter. We'll finally be seeing what's behind that tantalising locked city gate in Honeypot Fields, and if you've ever wondered what Miss Paris's home looks like, then it's your lucky day.

Whereas Avenging Angel took a lot of fiddly coding due to the choice-based nature of the story, Chapter 5 is more on rails, and so this time around, we have a lot more development space available for expanding the game, which is good, as I'll be adding a whole new city! (Or at least the playable part of it. Gotta keep something back for Chapter 6.) And I think you'll be very pleased with the amount of content centred on Missy being Jessica's plaything.

The council will also shortly be polled on what else you'd like to see in 0.7, as we now have so many stray threads that they're getting hard to keep track of! Maybe we'll see more Red Light District content? Or another scene for Emily? Some new stuff at home? It'll be up to our top tier supporters to decide. The school is closed for the weekend in this chapter, but that doesn't mean we can't add some more new stuff there too.

The Reign of Jess continues, and I'm really looking forward to sharing some of the great things I have in store for our unlucky heroine with you. Until next time!
