Hello everyone! Following my misfortune last week, I've put a workaround in place over the weekend while all that gets sorted. The techies were supposed to be calling me about my machine today, so I don't know whether to take the fact that they didn't as a good or bad sign.
But anyway, I've got a passable computer running with RPG Maker MZ, so coding work on the game has resumed. This means that I won't lose as much time as I'd feared as I can just do things in a different order than intended, but as long as I'm able to work, I'm progressing the game towards readiness either way.
I say that because I had, before the computer went kaput, been doing a lot of rendering work. That'll have to go on the back burner for now as this computer struggles to run it and working with the 3D software is like wading through treacle, even on lower settings. (It's pretty much bang on the minimum specs to run the program.) It's not impossible though. I modified the image above in it.
I plan to be back up and running properly in the next few days, but in the meantime, there is progress. I can now play the day from hell up to lunchtime, with fully-rendered scenes, and that'll advance pretty quickly while it's my focus. I'll hopefully know more by Wednesday, so check back with you then.
