Teach me a lesson!

Hello everyone.  With this busy week more or less behind me, I'm free to concentrate once more on the game.  Today, I've been putting together some sexy new renders from Chapter 4 that I'll be more than happy to start showing you very soon.

However, since we're not quite at the previews stage yet, let's do a character post today.  And I have a very special one I've been saving for just such an occasion - today we're going to talk Miss Paris.

Many of you love this sexy, sultry and swanky lady, and it's not hard to see why.  Outstandingly good-looking, even by Sapphorian standards, poised, snappily-dressed, and, of course, a ruthless disciplinarian.  Eva Paris is the full package.

At the age of just 29, she's very young for a school teacher, and her youthful idealism remains very much intact.  Educated at Saint Alancia's herself, she has dedicated her life to ensuring that the next generation of Sapphorian girls have the same start she did.  She is a true believer in the Alancia's mission, and genuinely angered when girls break the rules on her watch.

She is also fiercely patriotic, as we saw in the first chapter, when she delivers her speech about the girls being the "beautiful future of Sapphory."  She really means this stuff, and the two go hand-in-hand.  She recognises that love of her country, and love of its inhabitants are inseparable, and that her part in keeping Sapphory strong is to ensure her girls become the best women they can be.

All of which is very bad news for the girls.  C. S. Lewis noted that "of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive," because "those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”  Eva Paris certainly has the approval of her conscience every time she raises the skirt of a girl bent over her desk for correction.

However, it would be a mistake to think that she, like Karen, delights in tormenting her girls for its own sake.  Missy initially wrongly assumes that this is what she is about in Chapter one, but while it can't be assumed that she gets no pleasure at all from stripping and spanking beautiful 18-year-olds, she is not doing it for its own sake.  As Missy later notes after several end-of-day punishments, Miss Paris really cares about what she's doing and is punishing her in order to effect change.

So what does the future hold for this most popular of characters?  Some of you want to get back at her, some of you want to kneel at her feet and I know plenty of you are waiting breathlessly for the relationship story.  Well, the good news is that Miss Paris is unmarried*, and currently has no girlfriends that we know of.  Not that this would stop, or even slow Missy, who's already racked up two lovers of her own and is always looking to expand her harem.

In The Reign of Jess, we're going to learn a lot more about this enigmatic educator.  We still know little about her life outside of Saint Alancia's.  We're going to see a little of her family, learn about her past, and even see inside her home.  Perhaps we'll learn more about what makes her tick and start to see a few pieces fall into place ahead of the relationship quest.

For today, it's back to making lewd renders of schoolgirls - I hope you all have a great weekend, see you Monday!

* It may seem like it should be obvious from her title being "Miss" that she is unmarried, but this is not the case.  (Miss Cuchucha is married.)  The title "Mrs" long ago disappeared from the Sapphorian lexicon, as the early settlers associated it with being married to a man.  It is often the case that after marrying, both women retain their maiden names, as there exists no convention for deciding which spouse should take the other's name as there was in the ancient world.  Where a woman has married outside her social class, it is normal for the lower-class woman to take the surname of her spouse, but it remains a matter of choice, and in cases where both spouses retain their maiden names, the daughters tend to be given the surname of the natal mother.
