Full steam ahead!

Hello, all!  The end of the week rolls around quickly doesn't it?  I'm in a great mood today, so for no reason at all, please enjoy this lovely 1080p picture of the girls having a bit of fun by the beautiful Sapphorian shore.  Lola didn't really care for the dress code.

Why am I in such a great mood today?  Well, because once again, you've shown complete faith in me to do what I promise.  Here are the results of the poll on Missy MZ, weighted by subscription level:

I mean... just... wow.  Not a single person voted strongly oppose.  75 people in total voted, and on Patreon, the raw number for strong support was 70%.  On Subscribestar it was 100%!  This translated roughly equally to the weighted data, while the weighting exactly evened out the somewhat support and somewhat oppose to just under 14% each.

I deliberately didn't include a "don't know/care" option, as I wanted voters to come down on one side or the other, and in the event these two ended up being roughly equal anyway.  Once again, for those of you who did express mild doubts, my inbox is always open.

However, I think that 86% support is a pretty thumping mandate.  Far higher than I'd thought possible.  As such, Missy MZ will be going ahead.  Over the course of the next few weeks, the entire game will be migrated to the new engine and de-fever-dreamed.  There will of course be constant updates and previews.

I believe I've now worked out all of the details of the transition.  Script replacement has been fairly smooth and I can now start a game, walk to school, talk to Abbie and sit down on the benches before the game encounters anything it doesn't like.  It does still look like a Hieronymus Bosch nightmare at the moment, but that'll be sorted later.

See what I mean?  I'll definitely have to do something about the fact that men have apparently infiltrated Sapphory, for a start!  This is down to the fact that it's looking in the wrong place for the NPC sprite and face image as well as the map textures.

A quick word on the mobile versions of Xmas Eva - this is proving so much harder to do than I'd ever imagined.  The crux of the problem is that Android doesn't really provide much in the way of debugging.  I follow all the instructions, I build the game, I put it on my phone, it doesn't work, and it doesn't provide any explanation why.  And I haven't even tried iOS yet, which looks even more convoluted!  I haven't given up, but I also don't want to invest too much of the time I could be using to make the versions that do work.  So stay tuned.

But this again shows why it was important to do Christmas Eva first as proof of concept.  I'd have hated to have run into such a problem trying to make the desktop version of the game, which is what the overwhelming majority of you care about.

Have a great weekend, and I'll be back Monday with the 4k pack!
