Plans for 2022

Happy Friday everyone.  Now that we're into December, (where has 2021 gone?!) we have the festive season coming up, then 2022 will be here in no time.  With it will come the 0.4 update, and then I'm onto the 4th chapter of the main story, a quest I've been looking forward to starting since before the release of 0.1!

Sadly, I don't have much more to show you from 0.4 yet, besides the above lovely picture of Jessica in her room.  I could write about how I've been making maps, 3D sets and doing boring-but-necessary pathfinding work, but that's not interesting, so instead, let's talk about the large-scale structure of the game, now that it's beginning to hove into view.

Chapters 4 and 5 will be a two-part story, and for that reason will be developed and released in quick succession, as I'm sure none of you want to wait 6 months for the second half of the story.  The ending of Chapter 5 will represent a clear "end of act 1,"  with a hugely important decision to be made that will affect Missy's relationships with Jessica, Abbie and Miss Paris.  It's my intention to have both of these released by the game's first birthday.

After this, I'll likely take a break from the main story for a while to work on some of the side plots, such as Poppy's story, relationship quests for the most popular and requested characters, such as Jess and Miss Paris, and maybe do a weird idea I have half-figured out that explains who and what the player is meant to be.

Once development on the main story resumes, the second act will focus more on the ongoing intrigue with Missy's mothers and even more new places to explore, including the Royal Palace and the opportunity to finally go outside the city!

Previews on 0.4 start soon, but I hope this glimpse of the future gets you excited for that too!
