Quick monday check-in

Hi everyone, just a quick check-in and development update.  Both the new quests are almost completed, with only one scene left to render, and I've begun work on some of the other new content for the update.  However, I have a choice to make, which I'd like to gauge your opinions on.  I'm opening this poll up to all my patrons, rather than just the school council, as it's about a very narrow and specific question, and requires a larger sample size.

Currently, the two quests lock one another out at a certain point.  After that point, you don't get to play the other quest at all.  This means that I can either find another way to show you the scenes from the alternate quest (such as unlocking them in the gallery when either quest is finished or adding an event that triggers after completion,) or make an alteration to make both quests playable.  The way this would probably be achieved is by allowing the player to walk back the choices they made in the story.

Left as it is now, in order to play both quests, you'd need two save files (with a third later as one of them has multiple outcomes.)  Would you prefer to be able to experience all the content in one playthrough instead?

I'll be happy to answer questions in the comments or on Discord.

On another subject, I will be changing my charging model to "pay up front" before the end of July.  This shouldn't affect any of you, and Patreon will simply continue to charge you at the start of the month as normal.  What it does mean is that new patrons will have to make their first payment when they sign up.  This is because in August, the update will be dropping and so I don't want it to be possible for someone to get early access then cancel their pledge before they've paid anything, as it would be unfair on those of you that do.  If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.  There is also a small tax change coming to certain areas that has nothing to do with me, Patreon should let you know if this affects you.

Until next time!

I like this too. That doesn't break narrative, just Missy having a "Wish I had done that differently" kind of dream. I'd have no qualms about finding the other route through that

Feasibility is indeed the issue there, but that would be a very elegant solution. I'll bear it in mind.

I don't know how feasible this would be, but maybe include a "dream" mode, where, when falling asleep at the end of each day, the player can choose to try out the different paths, and once you reach the end, you "wake up" back on the path originally taken. Don't have to worry about continuity issues that way, while allowing people to experience all paths without multiple playthroughs or save files, should they so choose.

Yeah, I think I'll limit my use of this model severely in the future, as it'll work much better to put meaningful choices within the confines of one quest. The problem here is that these two are diametrically opposed - one quest involves acquiescing to Poppy and the other standing up to her.

on the one hand I like replayability and want to encourage that. On the other hand, that is entirely based on how different the playthrough is. if it only changes a set of particular scenes and makes no actual significant changes to the overarching story, then I would rather you just have a warning like "This is a branch event" so I know to save there and I can see the event(s) (This isn't hard to do since Missy breaks the 4th wall anyway). If its one, two, even three times like that, its fine as one save. If you have several of these instances where it adjusts the story permanently, then rather play multiple times. I rather not have narratives broken to accommodate singular scenes for a single playthrough. If you wanted to do something like that, I'd rather you just change up the rules so they don't become exclusive at that rate. EDIT: Actually thinking about it, there is several ways to play Missy: dom, sub, bad, and good. Those are just the beginning at this time, I don't think there is anything wrong having quests/events exclusive to each of those different playstyles, especially since if you replay in different ways, you'd uncover the unique events anyway. I think that's proper instead of "spoiling" the different routes by making them available in one playthrough
