About Unbirthing (and similar) content, I hear you
Added 2025-03-03 14:42:42 +0000 UTCHi, I've had some complaints recently over UB content, as I'm aware that it's a content that not everyone likes. But I must also say that I don't know the percentage, maybe it's a few people, or a large number, and I would like tho know.
However, I don't want to hurt those of you who love this content either (which it seems that you are the great majority, seeing the numbers). I mean, they are the most popular requests lately, and they win fairly as any other option would in the polls.
So I've been thinking about some options:
A) I could offer a higher tier of $6-7 and offer you an exclusive monthly poll for an advanced and colored sketch. This way, I could separate this content with more explicit fetishes from the rest, and you would be guaranteed to have a drawing a month with this content. But it also means less time and works for the normal poll, obviously.
B) Start banning UB occasionally (or even other ideas if they win very often) in the following polls for more variety.
C) Keep going as we are, the votes are fair and that's democracy lol. I shouldn't give it so much importance... I shouldn't intervene in what the majority chooses. And I choose variety in other ideas that didn't win in the poll, as I have been doing these months
I feel a little sorry to hear these divisions... I mean, for other artists who also do UB or similar, I don't see that they have this division. Why do I? 😮💨
Anyway. I don't want to bother anyone, and that includes me too... I'm reading you if you want to tell me something and what do you think about some of these options. But what I wanted to ask now is: Does Unbirthing (and similar) content bother you?

I joined for unbirth as you do it really nicely and hope to commission it but I would prefer if you can draw things you enjoy!

I'd pay for a higher tier if it added an exclusive UB focused art. I am Tier 3 if that matters for your info. I think it's fair to sperate it out it is a very niche interest.

I remember being subscribed to another artist who used to regularly do monthly polls, and the winners tended come from a very similar/limited field, which often frustrated people with more niche interests. It's an unfortunate side effect of democracy like this. It also kind of manifests in the frequency of dragon-related requests winning the polls (Think about it, how many times has that happened in recent polls?), which can also prove a problem to people that are fans of other material. But yeah, I don't mind UB being banned every now and then. I had no problem with it the last time you did it at all, and I wouldn't mind some restrictions on the polls happening every now and then for the sake of variety. Let's see how things play out from here.

I’ve never intrinsically been into UB, but your interpretation and style make it more tolerable for me, making you the only artist whose UB work I actually like. I think the UB divide comes from your audience being pretty mixed. Since you create more than just UB, you’ve got both UB fans and those who prefer variety, so when UB wins a lot, it’s bound to frustrate some people. Some longtime supporters may feel UB has become more dominant over time, while others are just tired of seeing it win so often. Even if the votes are fair, those who aren’t into UB might feel overshadowed. Since you're so open about polls and feedback, these discussions are more noticeable here than with other artists. Plus, as your fanbase grows, newer fans may have different tastes than older ones. Overall though, I think this just shows how much people care about your work, UB or not. You’ve handled it well, and whatever you decide will work out fine.

2025-03-03 16:41:31 +0000 UTCI *love* UB (and human/dragon ones especially) so I'm pretty biased towards it, but I also understand where others are coming from, plus if UB becomes the only thing you make, I imagine it'll kill your passion for UB very quickly. Variety is itself a source of pleasure, yeah? My suggestion is basically a mix of B & C. Your decision to forgo the one with the highest votes & choose the next runner-up can be based on "how much do I wanna make this?", but maybe you should add a secondary rule (like you'll try to have no more than 2 - 3 of the same theme/style consecutively unless you really REALLY like the idea the rule's making you reject). know you have plenty of ideas in the pipeline, so maybe this'll help?

2025-03-03 16:27:33 +0000 UTCi love your ub content and thats why im here honestly however i do agree on the part of most people that some vireity would be very nice and seeing so mutch ub in the polls do gets boring sometimes, mabye haveing a new tier could work being like a "sex tier" and "sex & kink tier" with both being the same price but diffrent polls for each tier

2025-03-03 15:56:20 +0000 UTCAnyone who looks at your art can clearly see UB is of immense value to you, and should respect that. That said, what's wrong with a bit of variety in your content? If you milk something so much it eventually runs dry. Maybe that's the reason for the recent distaste.

I think a good compromise would be something like the higher tier you mentioned or a separate poll for UB content so that folks who don't like it have a way of not interacting with it. If people are leaving just because you posted UB at all, I don't think they would have been able to be happy with any choice other than cutting it entirely, and I can say with certainty you aren't the only artist this happens to. Sometimes interests change and people aren't on board for it, and sometimes they just didn't look close enough at the gallery before subscribing to see if there was something they don't like. I've definitely done it a few times by accident, I just start with favoriting things before I follow to make sure I don't contribute to it now.

Because it can bring some surprises to those who are interested! The same goes for UB! I hope people can understand that every artist wants to surprise everyone, but sometimes the surprise cannot satisfy every viewer...

2025-03-03 15:12:47 +0000 UTCI have a 4th option. I don't mind it, and do enjoy it, it just seems like it's winning out /too/ often? Like there are some cool other options given frequently. Be it new characters or scenarios for characters who have won before, but they're pushed away for familiarity. Even the UB ones that don't win are the same characters because they have continuing stories. Small example, when ever the vipers win it's always for UB pieces. If Sisu or Saphira win it's always for sex. It just feels sad sometimes that some of the more unique requests are drowned out for what has been kinda done. Not to say I don't LOVE the vipers, but they have unique body types where you can do some other fun stuff with them too. Not just ub each time if that makes sense? I like UB just fine, but seeing it again and again makes it a lil less... special I guess? Especially when there aren't a lot of other artists who draw female feral femdom or romance. It's nice to see all aspects of the more broad pairing explored.
