2025-06-29 21:36:59 +0000 UTCI think the story of the director's motivations for wanting to do a remake is intriguing, because it's not just because he wants to make a better version, he seems to feel that the old production is casting a shadow over him, and when you combine that with the fact that his father was the one who directed the old version, you wonder what feelings he's bringing into this, and how it affected him. Given that, doing the same thing over again will be not as effective as making a significant change in interpretation of the characters, and maybe more, since he talks about how he needs to make a world for Mio's character to fit into. Looks like there will be a shift somewhere.
